Disc brake rotor
A disc brake rotor comprises a hub engagement member, a friction member, a first member, and a second member. The hub engagement member is configured to engage with a hub assembly. The friction member is provided radially outwardly of the hub engagement member with respect to a rotational center axis of the disc brake rotor. The friction member has an axial thickness in an axial direction with respect to the rotational center axis. The first member extends between the hub engagement member and the friction member. The first member includes a recess that has an axial depth in the axial direction. The axial depth is larger than the axial thickness of the friction member. The second member is at least partly provided on the recess without using a screw connection.
Yaw pad engagement features
A yaw brake apparatus includes a first surface disposed on an end of a yaw piston for a wind turbine, the first surface including a first pattern formed by one or more of a plurality of first recesses and a plurality of first protrusions. The yaw brake apparatus may also include a yaw pad including a second surface structurally configured to engage with the first surface and a third surface opposite the second surface that is structurally configured to engage with a slew ring of the wind turbine, the second surface including a second pattern formed by one or more of a plurality of second recesses and a plurality of second protrusions corresponding to one or more of the plurality of first recesses and the plurality of first protrusions on the first pattern such that the first pattern and second pattern fit together when aligned in a predetermined orientation.
Polygonal spring coupling
A polygonal coupling couples torque source to a torque consumer such that input and output portions of the coupling may elastically rotate relative to one another during torque transfer to accommodate rotational speed variations in delivery of torque from the torque source. In an embodiment the torque source is an internal combustion engine with an integrated switchable coupling between the engine crankshaft and a torque transfer segment supporting a motor-generator. The polygonal coupling includes axially-overlapping polygonal-shaped male and female portions which cooperate to pass torque between the output of the integrated switchable coupling and an input of the torque transfer segment. At least one of the male and female portions includes recesses which form flexible arms adjacent to the lobes of the polygonal shape that allow the portions to rotate relative to one another over small angular displacements, and thereby improve damping of crankshaft rotational vibrations.
Friction materials for brake pads based on binding compositions and related brake pads
An improved friction material is described, comprising a binding composition based on a hydraulic binder, and its use in brake pads and industrial applications.
METHOD FOR MAKING A BRAKE DISC AND BRAKE DISC FOR DISC BRAKE
A method for making a brake disc may include providing a disc brake with a braking band and depositing on the disc a layer of chromium carbide and nickel-chromium in particle form to form a base protective coating. The method may also include depositing on the base protective coating a material in particle form consisting of tungsten carbide, iron, chromium and aluminium to form a surface protective coating made of tungsten carbide, iron, chromium and aluminium. Both protective coatings may be made by High Velocity Oxygen Fuel or High Velocity Air Fuel or Kinetic Metallization techniques.
PERSONAL CARE DEVICE WITH SEPARABLE COUPLING IN DRIVE TRAIN
The present disclosure is concerned with a personal care device having a head portion having a driven treatment head, a handle portion having a drive unit for providing a motion having a motion direction, and a drive train extending between the drive unit and the driven treatment head for transmitting the motion from the drive unit to the driven treatment head, the drive train having a separable coupling. The separable coupling has a first coupling part having a first coupling element, a second coupling part having a second coupling element, the first and the second coupling elements being separably engaged with each other, and a resilient element biasing the first coupling element and the second coupling element against each other so that the first and second coupling elements are engaged in a gap-free manner along the motion direction.
MECHANICAL BRAKE FOR AN ELECTRIC MOTOR
The present disclosure relates to mechanical braking mechanisms used in electric motor applications. The present braking mechanisms may be configured as non-back-drivable mechanical brakes and provide immediate braking of the motors. According to one embodiment, a mechanical brake assembly for an electric motor may include a female disk including a groove and an abutment and a male disk including a projection, the male disk being in mechanical communication with a rotor of the electric motor. When the electric motor is energized, the projection of the male disk is configured to rotate with the rotation of the rotor of the electric motor, but when the electric motor is de-energized, the projection of the male disk is configured to travel within the groove of the female disk and abut the abutment of the female disk, thereby reducing the rotation of the rotor of the electric motor.
Brake disk for vehicles
A brake disk for a disk brake, which consists of a brake disk chamber and at least one friction ring connected to the brake disk chamber by rivets, wherein a jacket of the brake disk chamber is provided with sections having reduced wall thickness and/or through-holes, which are axially directed material cut-outs located on the outer periphery of the brake disk chamber jacket, which material cut-outs are used to at least partially place the axially directed rivets. The friction ring and the brake disk chamber are centered with respect to each other exclusively by the rivets. The friction ring has at least one fastening extension directed inward from the friction surface, to which fastening extension a collar of the brake disk chamber jacket is connected by the rivets in that the side of the friction ring directed toward the brake disk chamber has an axially directed depression for accommodating the collar of the brake disk chamber, which depression is designed in such a way that there is radial play between the brake disk chamber and the friction ring.
Mechanical brake for an electric motor
The present disclosure relates to mechanical braking mechanisms used in electric motor applications. The present braking mechanisms may be configured as non-back-drivable mechanical brakes and provide immediate braking of the motors. According to one embodiment, a mechanical brake assembly for an electric motor may include a female disk having a curved groove and an abutment. The mechanical brake assembly further includes a male disk having a projection, the male disk being attached to a rotor of the electric motor. When the electric motor is energized, the projection of the male disk is allowed to rotate uninterrupted with the rotation of the rotor. However, when the electric motor is de-energized, the projection of the male disk travels within the curved groove of the female disk and abuts the abutment of the female disk, thereby stopping the rotation of the rotor of the electric motor.
Brake pad monitor with conductivity measurement
A brake pad apparatus having a conductivity sensor disposed thereon operable to generate conductivity data corresponding to the remaining thickness of the brake pad's friction lining. The conductivity data may be analyzed by a processor to estimate the remaining life of the brake pad for purposes of maintenance, diagnostic, or repair. The conductivity sensor may utilize a conductivity probe that comprises one or more insulation coatings to insulate conductive material from the friction lining. The brake pad apparatus may further comprise a wireless transmitter to transmit data to a processor external to the brake pad apparatus.
