Disc brake assembly
A disc brake assembly arranged to be mounted over a rotor. The disc brake assembly includes first and second brake pads, a caliper having an opening for receiving the first and second brake pads, and a spring member for retaining the pads within the caliper. The spring member has a pad alignment feature arranged to prevent the spring member from being properly assembled on the caliper when one or more of the brake pads is inserted with its friction material facing away from a rotor receiving region of the caliper.
Spindle Nut Assembly Having Multiple Stop Cams
A spindle nut assembly for an electric parking brake has a spindle and a spindle nut. The spindle has a plurality of spindle stops and a plurality of external threads. The plurality of external threads has at least two threads. The spindle nut is operatively connected to the spindle, has a plurality of stop cams, and has a plurality of internal threads. At least one of the plurality of stop cams is engaged with at least one of the plurality of spindle stops when a first thread of the plurality of internal threads is started on any external thread of the plurality of external threads.
Centering mechanism for double cardan joints
A joint assembly includes a first shaft having an end, a second shaft having an end, a first inner ring coupled to the first shaft, and a second inner ring coupled to the second shaft. The assembly further includes a sleeve coupled to the first and second inner rings, the first and second inner rings disposed within the sleeve, and a centering device engaging the ends of the first and second shaft. The centering device is configured to maintain the angular positions of the first and second shafts relative to one another, and the centering device is substantially fixed from rotation during rotation of the first and second shafts.
ROLLER ONE WAY CLUTCH CAGE RETENTION
A one way clutch with improved cage retention is disclosed. The assembly includes a housing with an opening having a first ramped portion defined on an inner periphery of the opening and a groove. A cage defines a plurality of rolling element pockets, and includes a first rim with a second ramped portion that corresponds to the first ramped portion. The first ramped portion of the housing is aligned with the second ramped portion of the cage during insertion of the cage into the opening of the housing for axial alignment of the second ramped portion and the groove. The cage is then rotated with respect to the housing such that the second ramped portion overlaps the first ramped portion to retain the cage in the housing.
COMPACT ELECTROMECHANICAL BRAKE
An electromechanical drum brake comprises two brake segments intended to come into contact with a drum, and at least one actuator configured to apply the segments against the drum, and an electric motor configured to activate the actuator, the actuator comprising at least one member which is movable upon activation of the actuator, the movable member being movable between a braking position and a position beyond a release position, in which the segments are no longer in contact with the drum. The actuator comprises a stop which is arranged only in the actuator and against which the movable element bears when it assumes a position beyond the release position, and the motor powers the actuator until the movable element bears against the stop.
Wheel hub unit with thermally insulating coating for reducing the thermal load on a wheel bearing
The present disclosure relates to a wheel hub unit of a motor vehicle and to a method for producing such a wheel hub unit. The wheel hub unit includes a wheel hub and a contact flange firmly connected to the wheel hub. The contact flange includes a plurality of fastening elements for fastening a wheel rim, as well as a contact surface which is intended to come into mechanical contact, at least in part, with a brake hat of a brake disk when the brake disk is in the mounted state. At least part of the contact surface is provided with a thermally insulating coating. Alternatively, the entire contact surface is provided with the thermally insulating coating.
Segmented integrated slot wear liner with structural carbon or ceramic core
A friction disk includes a friction disk core having a first surface with multiple channels extending radially across the first surface. The friction disk may further include a first wear liner having two wear liner segments each configured to be coupled to the first surface of the friction disk core to form an annular liner and each including a wear surface, a non-wear surface, and a rib extending from the non-wear surface and configured to be received by one of the multiple channels.
CLUTCH PACK PRE-BUILD FIXTURE AND INSTALLATION TOOL
A method and tool system coaxially orients inner clutch plates with outer clutch plates on a tool. The tool includes a plurality of guide members circumferentially spaced apart, each guide member matingly engages a toothed portion of each inner clutch plate to position the inner clutch plates coaxially. A pre-build fixture includes a plurality of alignment pillars, at least one support block, and an alignment member. The alignment pillars are circumferentially spaced apart about a fixture axis. Each alignment pillar has a curved inner face that faces radially inward and has an arclength that is configured to coincide with and fit within a corresponding gap between radially outward facing teeth of each outer clutch plate. The support block supports the tool coaxially with the fixture. The alignment member engages the tool to inhibit rotation of the tool when the tool is supported coaxially with the fixture by the support block.
BRAKE PAD BACKING PLATE
A backing plate for a brake pad that helps improve attachment of the friction pad. The backing plate has a multi-layered structure including a locking plate and a reinforcement plate. Locking holes or locking rings in the locking plate create an undercut portion at mold holes in the reinforcement plate to help mechanically lock the friction material of the brake pad. In some embodiments, retention holes and/or locking rails can be provided to help further retain the friction pad by increasing the available surface area for bonding. Additionally, the retention holes and/or locking rails can help decrease the weight of the backing plate by minimizing the overall size of the locking plate.
Unit having at least one piston with an associated piston spring
An apparatus having a housing, a cavity which is disposed in the housing and which at least in regions is configured as a bore in which at least one piston and one piston spring associated with the piston are received, wherein the piston spring in the bore when activating the piston in the operation of the apparatus is compressed by the piston. The piston spring is configured from a magnetic or magnetizable material, the piston is configured from a non-magnetic material, and an assembly unit which comprises the piston having the piston spring is provided, and in which the piston spring is held on the piston by a magnetic field.
