SHAFT AND HUB CONNECTION ASSEMBLY
A shaft and hub connection assembly including a shaft and a hub each extending along and rotatable about an axis. One of the shaft and the hub defines a male connection portion, and the other of the shaft and the hub defines a female connection portion. The female connection portion has a radially inner surface comprised of a plurality of inside faces. The male connection portion has a radially outer surface comprised of a plurality of outside faces that nest within the inside faces. A plurality of outside transition regions are located between the outside faces in a circumferential direction and are blended at an outside radius. A plurality of inside transition regions are located between the inside faces of the female connection portion in the circumferential direction and are blended at an inside radius. A gap is provided between the outside and inside transition regions.
GEAR SPINDLE DEVICE FOR ROLLING MILL, ROLLING MILL FACILITY, AND METHOD OF COOLING GEAR SPINDLE DEVICE FOR ROLLING MILL
A gear spindle device for a rolling mill includes: a spindle outer cylinder having, at a first end side, an inner circumferential surface provided with an inner circumferential gear; a spindle inner cylinder having an outer circumferential surface provided with an outer circumferential gear which engages with the inner circumferential gear; a seal member disposed between the spindle outer cylinder and the spindle inner cylinder, for holding a lubricant oil at an engagement portion between the inner circumferential gear and the outer circumferential gear; and a coolant supply unit disposed at an opposite side to the seal member across the engagement portion in an axial direction of the spindle outer cylinder, for supplying a coolant toward the spindle outer cylinder in a formation region of the engagement portion where the engagement portion is formed.
Clutch lubrication system
A fluid actuated clutch (40) includes a disc pack (120) that includes friction discs (122) and separator discs (124) mounted on a hub (50). A cylinder (68) which includes a movable piston (72) is in connection with the hub. The introduction and release of fluid to a variable volume chamber (76) selectively applies force to the disc pack to engage the clutch and releases the force to disengage the clutch. The clutch includes internal bearings (90, 82). Grease or other lubricant material is injected into a radially extending lubricant passage (96). The lubricant is held in the area of the bearings and other moving parts by rigid annular grease shields (93, 79). Annular grease release gaps (61, 107) prevent over packing with lubricant while maintaining lubrication and facilitating cooling.
Sealed clutch thrust bearing device and driveline system including such a device
A clutch thrust bearing device includes a rolling bearing having a fixed ring, a rotatable ring, and a plurality of rolling elements between the rings; an axially movable piston disposed between a housing and the rolling bearing and having a radial plate pressing against an axial contact surface of the fixed ring; at least one resilient seal member sealing the piston relative to the housing; and a resilient body exerting an axial preload onto an axial contact surface of the rotatable ring. The rolling bearing is axially movable by the piston to compress the resilient body. A resilient sleeve is mounted to the fixed ring and has at least one sealing lip in sliding contact with the rotatable ring.
A COUPLING ASSEMBLY HAVING ANGLED FASTENER HOLES
A coupling assembly having a first member drivingly connected to a second member via one or more third members. A first shaft is drivingly connected to the first member and a second shaft is drivingly connected to the second member. The second member includes a flange portion having one or more seating portions on a first end portion of the flange. Additionally, the flange has one or more flange portion attachment apertures extending from the seating portions to a second end portion of the flange. An increased diameter portion of the second shaft has one or more increased diameter portion apertures extending from a first end portion to a second end portion. The flange portion apertures and the increased diameter portion apertures have a center-line with an angle from an axial center-line of the assembly. Additionally, the seating portions have an angle relative to a radial center-line of the assembly.
ACTUATING DEVICE WITH DIRT SHIELDING
An actuating device for a motor vehicle, including a housing and a multi-part working piston movable in relation to the housing. The multi-part working piston has a main piston and an adjusting piston, which pistons are formed in a manner movable axially with respect to each other to compensate for wear. A clamping device clamps the main piston and the adjusting piston in relation to each other in order to fix an operative length of the working piston. The main piston and the adjusting piston are partial pistons of the working piston. A shielding element for protecting the actuating device from dirt is arranged on the housing and a partial piston or on a first partial piston and a second partial piston or on an adjusting piston and on the clamping device.
COUPLING
A flexible unit absorbing misalignment and transmitting torque from a driving shaft to a driven shaft is provided between a pair of flanges individually provided on each of the driving shaft side and the driven shaft side, both the driving shaft and the driven shaft being hollow. A communication passage letting hollow regions of the driving shaft and the driven shaft communicate with each other to form a circulation space for a cooling fluid is provided in the flexible unit. The flow of the cooling fluid cooling a driving source driving and rotating the driving shaft from the inside is created in the circulation space. A seal portion seals between the circulation space and an outside space to prevent leakage of the cooling fluid from the circulation space to the outside space.
Sealed piston apparatus and related systems for use with vehicle torque converters
Sealed piston apparatus and related systems for use with vehicle torque converters are disclosed. A disclosed vehicle torque converter includes a housing and a clutch including a piston in the housing. The piston has a first side partially defining a first chamber and a second side, opposite the first side, partially defining a second chamber. The vehicle torque converter also includes a first seal operatively coupled to the piston and a second seal operatively coupled to the piston. The vehicle torque converter also includes an orifice positioned on the piston radially inward relative to a clutch pack of the clutch. The orifice is configured to provide a flow of a fluid between the first and second chambers during a lockup on operation of the vehicle torque converter to lubricate the clutch. The first seal is a one-way seal.
Sealed clutch thrust bearing device and driveline system including such a device
A clutch thrust bearing device including a rolling bearing, an axially movable piston having a radial plate, and a resilient biasing member. At least one between the inner and the outer peripheries of the radial plate of the axially movable piston is provided with a bearing sealing element of resilient material having at least one sealing lip in sliding contact with the rotatable ring of rolling bearing.
Wheel end disconnect system and method
