Method of forming wet friction material by burning off fibers

A method of making a wet friction material includes providing an outer layer on a base layer to form the wet friction material. The base layer includes a first proportion of fiber material and a first proportion of filler material. The outer layer includes a second proportion of fiber material and a second proportion of filler material. The second fiber proportion is less than the first fiber proportion and the second filler proportion is greater than the first filler proportion. The method further includes forming a modified outer layer by burning off the fiber material of the outer layer.

A notch is disposed proximate the root diameter of the hub and spaced apart from the plurality of gear teeth. The blocker ring comprises a thermoplastic material. The blocker ring comprises a thermoplastic material. The blocker ring has a plurality of molded clutch teeth extending radially outward from a root diameter of the blocker ring. The plurality of molded clutch teeth are configured to engage the sleeve spline in response to the sliding sleeve engaging the blocker ring during a transmission shift event.

Actuating Device for a Coupling/Braking Device and Coupling/Braking Device with such an Actuating Device

An actuating device for a coupling/braking device is provided with at least one actuating piston that is axially slidable relative to a shaft and, in an actuating state, exerts an axially acting contact pressure on coupling/braking parts of the coupling/braking device. At least one control piston is provided that axially displaces the at least one actuating piston into the actuating position. A coating is provided in a contact region between the actuating piston and the control piston, wherein the coating is disposed at the actuating piston or at the control piston or at both the actuating piston and the control piston. The actuating piston can also be designed as a control piston that interacts immediately with the coupling/braking parts of the coupling/braking device.

Dog clutch

A dog clutch comprising a sleeve and a relative crown with respective teeth conformed for engaging each one alternatively to the others wherein, during operation a pulling side for said teeth is defined, that identifies a surface through which the torque is transferred, and wherein, the teeth pulling side or at least the crown and/or the sleeve is conformed so that the relative tooth is tapered from a relative base towards a relative vertex, wherein said pulling side comprises at least three portions of which a first portion is adjacent to said base and a third portion is adjacent to said vertex following a rectilinear path and being approximately parallel to generating line of said crown or sleeve, and having a second portion adjoining said first portion with said third portion.

Clutch assembly and system

Power transmission systems including clutch arrangement and control systems are adapted to be used in numerous different operational environments. Such power transmission systems may include clutch arrangements that provide more effective power transmission capabilities as well as greater durability and longer life. Control arrangements are provided to more effectively control and monitor clutch operation in ways that provide for greater system flexibility and drive options.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING UNITS WITH AXIALLY MOVABLE COMPONENTS

A method may produce an axially movable connection between two components with a plastic as a sliding material arranged therebetween. The method may involve providing the two components and either at least one of the two components has a plastic coating or a plastic sleeve is provided between the components, joining the two components to form a unit via a pressing force in an axial direction, clamping the unit in a device in which the two components are clampable and subjectable to a displacement force in the axial direction, pressing a sonotrode against an outer of the two components and bracing the outer component against a counter-holder, injecting an ultrasound signal into the sonotrode and moving the two components back and forth in the axial direction until a displacement force or a displacement velocity reaches a target, and ending the ultrasound signal and removing the unit from the device.

CONSTANT VELOCITY UNIVERSAL JOINT AND CAGE THEREOF

A constant velocity universal joint is provided which includes an inner ring and an outer ring. A cage is disposed between an outer spherical surface of the inner ring and an inner spherical surface of the outer ring, and has windows in which respective balls are received. The cage has ball contact surface areas with which the balls come into contact, and includes soft portions that are lower in hardness than the ball contact surface areas. The soft portions are formed by local heat treatment at portions of the windows that are kept out of contact with the balls or surface portions around the windows.
