A vehicle drive includes a speed change mechanism connected to a rotary electric machine; an output member connected to the speed change mechanism and wheels; an engagement device changes a state of engagement between an input member connected to an engine and the speed change mechanism; a hydraulic pump driven by the engine or the rotary electric machine; a first pressure control device that controls pressure supplied from the pump and supplies the pressure to the speed change mechanism; a second, separate hydraulic pressure control device that controls the pressure supplied from the pump and supplies the pressure to the engagement device; and a case that houses the rotary electric machine, speed change mechanism, engagement device, and pump. At least the engagement device is housed in a space formed by the case, and the second hydraulic pressure control device is provided at a part of the case forming the space.

A housing is placed at an inside space of a case to be installed on a vehicle. The housing includes: a housing plate portion configured to contact a case plate portion of the case; and a receiving space located on one side of the housing plate portion which is opposite to the case plate portion. An electric motor is placed at the receiving space and is configured to output a torque. The housing includes a housing protrusion and a housing recess. The housing protrusion protrudes from a surface of the housing plate portion located on another side of the housing plate portion at which the case plate portion is placed, and the housing protrusion is configured to fit into a case recess of the case. The housing recess is recessed from another surface of the housing plate portion which is opposite to the housing protrusion.

Hybrid module shipping assembly

A hybrid module shipping assembly includes a hybrid module configured for arrangement in a torque path upstream from a transmission and downstream from an internal combustion engine. The hybrid module includes a hybrid drive unit, a housing fixed to a front side of the hybrid drive unit and a torque converter fixed to a rear side of the hybrid drive unit. The torque converter includes an impeller hub. The hybrid module shipping assembly also includes a cap assembly inserted in the impeller hub and a shipping dome fixed to the housing such that the housing and shipping dome encase the hybrid drive unit, the torque converter and the cap assembly.

Clutch for simplified installation

A clutch for a drivetrain of a motor vehicle includes an axis and a pressure plate assembly. The pressure plate assembly has a clutch cover, a contact plate held movably on the clutch cover, a diaphragm spring with a radial inner edge region, and a pressure element for actuating the diaphragm spring. The diaphragm spring is braced between the clutch cover and the contact plate. The pressure element rests against the radial inner edge region. The pressure element includes a first through hole and the clutch cover includes a second through hole. The first through hole is axially aligned with the second through hole. In some embodiments, the clutch has a clutch disk with a hub region having a third through hole, and the third through hole is axially aligned with the first through hole and the second through hole.

A clutch assembly including a cover and a mounting ring having a plurality of arms extending outwardly to a strap mount. The assembly includes strap springs. Each strap spring has a first end connected to the strap mount and a second end opposite the first. The clutch assembly includes an annular pressure plate and a plurality of outwardly extending tabs. Each tab is releasably connected to the second end of a corresponding strap spring so the strap springs biases the pressure plate away from the flywheel. The assembly includes a keeper and a resilient diaphragm spring that biases the pressure plate toward the flywheel, deforming each strap spring, so the strap spring biases the annular pressure plate away from the flywheel. The diaphragm ring is resiliently deformable to a deformed position, allowing each strap spring to move the pressure plate away from the flywheel.

A pressure plate of a clutch device includes a clutch outer member for supporting friction discs, and a clutch center member for supporting clutch discs. The pressure plate has a deep hole portion for accommodating a clutch spring acting between the pressure plate and the clutch center member; and a through hole at a center thereof extending between an inside and an outside of the clutch device in a clutch axis direction. Oil is supplied from the outside into the through hole. The pressure plate has a radial passage extending in a radially outward direction from the through hole at an axially inner end portion of the through hole to make the inside and outside of the through hole communicate with each other. An annular rib is formed on a peripheral surface of an outer end portion of the through hole extending toward the center of the through hole.

A front wheel clutch and a front wheel acceleration clutch are supported to a front wheel transmission shaft. Between the front wheel clutch and the front wheel acceleration clutch, there is provided a holder supporting the front wheel transmission shaft. A first operational oil passage for switching over the front wheel clutch is defined respectively in and between the holder and the front wheel transmission shaft. A second operational oil passage for switching over the front wheel acceleration clutch is defined respectively in and between the holder and the front wheel transmission shaft.
