Fall protection locking system

A locking system for fall protection and a method of manufacturing the same are provided. An example locking system includes a housing. The housing defines a guide path through which the housing is slideably attached to a guide member. The locking system also includes a braking lever having a braking end that is configured to engage the guide member. The braking lever includes a shock absorber configured to deform during a fall instance. The locking system further includes a secondary braking feature configured independent from the braking lever. The secondary braking feature is an inertial structure configured to rotate into engagement with the guide member during the fall instance. A corresponding method of manufacturing is also provided.

The invention relates to a descent control device comprising a housing, wherein the housing comprises a rope entrance (2) and a rope exit (3) located at opposite sides of the housing (1), a channel (5) having at least one curvature of at least 180 degrees, for accommodating the rope (4) internally in the housing, and an element (5) arranged in the centre of the curvature, limiting the inner radius of the channel. The element is eccentric rotatable between a free position and a stop position, and provided with an arm (6) protruding out through the housing for controlling the rotating between free and stop position. The channel in the curvature is more narrow along substantially its whole length when the element is in stop position than in free position.

Closure system

A closure system for a line-engaging device is herein disclosed. The closure system comprises a latch for securing the line-engaging device in a closed position by engaging with one or more of a plurality of keepers in the device body. The configuration of the latch and the keepers is such that transition from a closed position of the closure system to an open position of the closure system may only occur following two or more actuations of the latch, this may reduce the probability of unintentional disengagement of a line or cable from the device.

The closure system comprises a latch for securing the line-engaging device in a closed position by engaging with one or more of a plurality of keepers in the device body. The configuration of the latch and the keepers is such that transition from a closed position of the closure system to an open position of the closure system may only occur following two or more actuations of the latch, this may reduce the probability of unintentional disengagement of a line or cable from the device.

The hunter's descender defines a shank section that extends outward from the ring. The shank section defines an end that defines a dual hook that points toward the ring. The ring defines a side appendage that extends a distance that is further outward from the ring than the shank section, the side appendage is positioned, either to a left side or a right side of the shank section. The side appendage defines an open semi-circular guide that is configured to allow a rope or line to pass through the open semi-circular guide after the rope is secured on the hunter's descender. An open section of the open semi-circular guide is on a same plane as the dual hook.

ROPE LOCKING APPARATUS

A rope locking apparatus includes a main shaft and a friction wheel pair having friction surfaces used for clamping a rope. A centrifugal member is switches between a centrifugal state and a reset state as the rotation speed of the friction wheel pair changes The centrifugal member drives the main shaft to rotate when it is in the centrifugal state, and is separated from the main shaft when it is in the reset state. The two friction wheels are respectively installed at two ends of the main shaft. A lock located between the two friction surfaces and arranged on the main shaft is adapted to rotate along with the main shaft, to make the lock switch between a locked state and an unlocked state. In the centrifugal state, the main shaft drives the lock to the locked state; and in the reset state, the lock is in the unlocked state.
