A suspension device provided with at least one suspension means. The suspension means comprise a tuned mass damper, the damper comprising an inertial mass carried by a mass support. The suspension means include at least a first actuator generating a dynamic force for acting on the swinging motion of the damper. The inertial mass being movable longitudinally in translation relative to the mass support, the suspension device including a second actuator connected to the inertial mass to move the inertial mass longitudinally relative to the mass support.

Disclosed is a frequency sensitive type shock absorber including a piston rod reciprocating an inside of a cylinder and having a connection passage therein; a piston valve mounted on the piston rod and having a plurality of compression and rebound flow paths penetrating up and down thereof, and partitioning the cylinder into compression and rebound chambers; and a valve assembly mounted on the piston rod to generate a damping force that changes with frequency during a rebound stroke; wherein the valve assembly comprises a housing coupled to the piston rod and having a pilot chamber in communication with the connection passage; a main retainer coupled to the piston rod and having a main chamber formed on an upper portion thereof in communication with the connection passage; a first pilot valve coupled to the piston rod and disposed between the housing and the main retainer to partition the pilot chamber and the main chamber; and a second pilot valve coupled to the piston rod and disposed above the pilot chamber and configure to be elastically deformable depending on a change in pressure of the pilot chamber.
INERTIA COMPENSATION FOR A RECIPROCATING MOWING SICKLE
A mowing sickle drive system comprises a knife bar supported by a frame and drive apparatus operable to drive the knife bar in a reciprocating linear motion at a variable drive frequency. A spring is coupled to the knife bar for applying a restoring force to the knife bar toward a neutral position when in motion. The spring has a variable modulus of elasticity that is controlled dependent upon the drive frequency.

SMA-STF BASED VISCOUS DAMPER
An SMA-STF based viscous damper includes a first connector, a piston rod, a piston which is sheathed on the piston rod; a damping cylinder; first and second end covers which are respectively provided at two sides of the damping cylinder; a second connector which is fixedly connected to the second end cover; and first and second SMA springs which are respectively sheathed on the piston rod. The damping cylinder has first and second damping cavities between which the piston is arranged. One end of the piston rod passes through the first end cover and is connected to the first connector, and the other end passes through the second connector. The first and second SMA springs are respectively held in the first and second damping cavities in an elastic state. The first and second damping cavities are respectively filled with the STF.
Exact constraint for flexible bodies
This invention relates to the constraint of a flexible body with low distortion and low uncertainty in its location. A class of mechanisms involving at least one pivot rocker is disclosed. These mechanisms fully constrain a body in space, but when constrained allow the flexible body to vibrate in the shape of one or more of its free mode shapes. Such a set of constraints yields a constrained system with high natural frequencies without over-constraining the body.
Continuous framework for shock, vibration and thermal isolation and motion accommodation
Vibration isolator systems have continuous frameworks wherein the frameworks are formed for specific applications. The continuous frameworks have linkages and voids formed and located such that frequency, direction and magnitude of vibrations are accounted for. The linkages and voids configuration provides elasticity and compliance such that a wide selection of materials is available for effective use. The continuous framework can be configured to include active elements such as a control circuit. The active elements may further include electric and magnetic field generators. Further, elastic and insulating materials can be easily added to the framework.
A DAMPER UNIT, A DAMPER ASSEMBLY, AND A METHOD FOR MAKING A DAMPER UNIT
A damper unit for use in a vibration-reducing assembly for a steering wheel is disclosed. The damper unit includes a slider configured, upon horn activation, to slide on a guide shaft. A damper element made from an elastomeric material is arranged on a first part of the slider. A molded horn spring element is molded directly on a second part of the slider and is configured to exert a spring force on the slider. The damper unit provides a unitary structure providing both a vibration damping function and a horn spring function in one single assembly unit, reducing the number of components to assemble. A vibration-reducing damper assembly including one or more such damper units is also disclosed, as well as a method of making such a damper unit.
Bearing support including hermetic squeeze film damper and accumulator volume
Embodiments of a frequency independent damper assembly are disclosed. In some embodiments, the damper assembly includes a damper housing, a damper plunger and a support spring. The damper plunger is disposed at least partially within the housing and movable within to define a first primary damper cavity and a second primary damper cavity. The support spring includes a plurality of flexible elements coupled to the damper housing and disposed radially outward of the first primary damper cavity and the second primary damper cavity. The support spring defines a first accumulator cavity and a second accumulator cavity. A flow-through channel couples the first accumulator cavity to the second accumulator cavity. A gas bearing including the frequency independent damper assembly is disclosed.
TUNABLE DYNAMIC ABSORBER FOR ATTENUTATING VIBRATION
A dynamic vibration absorber for reducing steering wheel vibration. The vibration absorber includes a resilient member that includes a resilient member inner surface that defines a center cavity that is configured to receive a steering column of a vehicle that generates vibration that is transferred to a steering wheel via the steering column, the center cavity being substantially coaxial with the steering column when attached thereto. The resilient member includes at least one resilient member outer surface that defines a resilient member outer diameter. The vibration absorber includes a rigid body that engages and is supported by the resilient member and that includes six degrees of freedom of movement relative to the steering column, the rigid body including a rigid body inner surface that defines a rigid body center cavity.
