DEAD AIR MASK FOR KILLING MICROORGANISMS IN AIR BREATHED BY A WEARER OF THE MASK
20230132702 · 2023-05-04 ·

A wearable mask includes a light module attached to a cover. The light module includes an inlet for receiving air to be breathed in by the person, and an outlet that faces the person. Airflow paths extend between the inlet and the outlet, and receive air to be breathed in by the person. An ultraviolet (UV-C) light source emits anti-microbial light into the one or more airflow paths at a wavelength that kills microorganisms in the air in the one or more airflow paths. Walls at the inlet and outlet each includes one or more slits through which the air passes. The one or more slits of each wall are offset relative to the one or more slits of an adjacent wall to form staggered airflow paths that allow the air to pass through offset slits, but blocks the anti-microbial light from passing through the offset slits.

The present disclosure relates to a mask including: a mask main body being pressed against a face of a user, and forming an internal space for receiving air in front of a nose and a mouth of the user; and an air purifying module mounted in the mask main body, and having a first passage for allowing outside air to flow in a direction perpendicular to a side surface of the air purifying module, while forcing the air to flow into the nose and mouth of the user, in which by providing a first passage, a non-uniform suction flow may be reduced, such that an area of a filter may be used efficiently, and noise may be reduced.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING USER-CUSTOMIZED FACIAL MASKS AND PORTIONS THEREOF
20230139237 · 2023-05-04 ·

Various implementations include methods of identifying data for producing a user-customized mask, systems for producing the same, a user customized mask, and an elongated support. To produce the mask or elongated support, 3D-data is received that defines the contour and dimensions of at least a portion of user's face. The 3D-data is determined by analyzing vector data associated with an area around the nose and mouth of the user, for example. A contact area(s) and a face contacting surface within the contact area are identified on the portion of the face of the user based on the 3D-data. And, structure-data based on the 3D-data and the identified contact area is provided for designing and producing a mask contacting surface. The mask contacting surface causes a portion of the mask to match the contour of the face contacting surface of the user.

AIR PERMEABLE FILTER MATERIAL COMPRISING A POLYMER AEROGEL

An air-permeable filter material that includes a polymeric aerogel having a polymeric matrix comprising an open-cell structure is disclosed. The air-permeable filter material can be included in a mask, which can be configured to be placed over a user's mouth and/or nose. The mask can include at least one layer of the air-permeable filter material and is positioned such that inhaled and/or exhaled air of the user passes through the filter material.

Electronic Breathing Mask with UVC Air Purification System and Peripherals
20230201408 · 2023-06-29 · ·

An air purification system is described herein; it comprises a breathing mask configured to hold an ultraviolet light source trapped between two air filter membranes. The light from the ultraviolet light source shines on and sterilizes the surfaces of the membranes and the air as it passes between the filters. The mask can be configured to operate as an air purifier or can be made intelligent enough to be environment aware to alarm the user and adjust the filtering loop to accommodate the variables in the air. In addition, the mask can be configured to connect to a smart device via a wireless interface so it can act as a smart peripheral to a smart phone; the mask can also include optional industry specific sensors and peripherals. This device is envisioned to be an apparatus to the mouth which provides personal protection from the environment.

A PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

A wearable personal protection comprising a mask configured to be air-tightly secured in contact with the face of a wearer and a face shield configured to be air-tightly connected to a passageway of the mask. The face shield has a front surface having a flared geometry from a bottom edge thereof up to a top edge thereof and backwardly curved lateral sides, with a bottom surface extending at an angle from the front surface, so that the face shield provides a mechanical barrier against aerial bacteria between the environment and the face of the wearer from under the chin as well as from both lateral sides of the wearer's face well up over the nose.

PERSONAL PROTECTED-AIR SYSTEM

A personal protected-air system includes a ring adapted to fit over a user's head. The ring includes a port for receiving breathable air, a manifold in fluid communication with the port, and vents in fluid communication with the manifold. The vents are distributed about a portion of the ring. A face mask is coupled to the ring. The face mask has a first edge, a second edge, and mask material extending from the first edge to the second edge. The first edge is coupled to the ring adjacent to the portion thereof where the vents are so-distributed. The second edge is adapted to fit snugly against the user's cheeks and nose bridge wherein the mask material is spaced apart from the user's nostrils and mouth by an air space and wherein the breathable air enters the air space via the vents

Portable chemical oxygen generator

A portable chemical oxygen generator for delivering oxygen to a patient is described. The generator includes a housing containing a reaction chamber. Within the reaction chamber is a quantity of a peroxide adduct. A valve is provided with a lower portion of the valve in fluid communication with the reaction chamber. An upper portion of the valve is in fluid communication with a reservoir that holds a quantity of an aqueous solution. An internal chamber is formed within the valve by releasable seals that separate the internal chamber from the upper portion of the valve and a lower portion of the valve. The internal chamber holds a quantity of a peroxide-decomposing catalyst. The generator also includes a valve actuator. Operation of the valve actuator releases the seals in the valve and creates a fluid path from the reservoir through the internal chamber into the reaction chamber. When the valve is actuated, the aqueous solution flows from the reservoir through the internal chamber and into the reaction chamber. This flow washes the catalyst into the reaction chamber along with the aqueous solution. The solution and catalyst mix with the peroxide adduct and cause an oxygen-generating reaction.

Anti-contagion mask
11684809 · 2023-06-27 · ·

The disclosed anti-contagion facemask embodiments are a family of transparent facemasks that do not obstruct visibility of a person's mouth when worn. One problem with a typical, widely used, facemask is the difficulty in understanding a person speaking when they are wearing the typical facemask. Not only does the listener have to contend with the muffled speech of a person talking through a facemask, communication is made worse by covering up, or otherwise hiding the wearer's mouth and face with opaque filter material. Accordingly, some embodiments described herein present a clear/see-through filtration mask embodiment that does not visibly obstruct a person's mouth by providing a filtration system along or near the periphery of the facemask.
