Mask apparatuses and approach

Aspects of various embodiments herein may be implemented as follows. An apparatus has a material shell that conforms to a user's face, and a securing portion connected to the shell that may operate to secure a filter to the user's face with the filter covering the user's nose and mouth. A securing force may be applied to the filter via the first material portion in a direction toward the user's face, thereby sealing the filter around the user's nose and mouth. Various implementations involve elastic and other material that facilitate sealing of the filter around the user's nose and mouth.

FACE MASK

A face mask has a centrifugal fan assembly, with a radial outlet outside the mask cavity. A flow adjusting element is added to prevent outlet flow from the fan assembly traveling along the outside of the mask and reaching the user, for example at the neck.

The rear exhaled air collection chamber includes an inlet attached to a front portion of the mask and communicating therewith, and a space communicating with the inlet. The intermediate member for deactivating viruses includes a channel and at least one element for deactivating viruses. The front chamber for passing air with inactivated viruses includes at least one outlet on a front end and an internal fan spaced from the at least one outlet.

This application discloses a novel face mask with a neck hanger that facilitates flow of filtered fresh air inside the face mask for inhaling. The neck hanger is a lightweight tube that houses two fans, HEPA or ULPA filters, and a battery with a controller circuit. One fan sucks the air from the environment and after being filtered is blown into the face mask through an air pipe that is attached to both the neck hanger and the face mask. The exhaled air from the nose or mouth is sucked by a second fan through another air pipe, then filtered and released into the environment.

A sensing element includes a substrate including an electrically non-conductive surface, at least one high surface energy region, and an electrode pair structure disposed on the electrically non-conductive surface. The electrode pair structure includes at least one pair of electrodes having a gap therebetween. At least one of the electrodes is at least partially within the at least one high surface energy region. The sensing element is configured to sense fluid-soluble particulate matter.
