Barge coupling device
09561838 · 2017-02-07 ·

A barge-coupling device that is operable to assist in the tightening of cables that are utilized to secure two marine vessels together in preparation for towing. The barge-coupling device further includes a tubular body having a first end and a second end. A hollow bore is present through the tubular body extending between the first end and second end. A first shaft and a second shaft are movably mounted to the tubular body. A handle is included having a lower portion wherein the lower portion has disposed therein a first gear and a second gear. The first gear is operably coupled to the tubular body and the second gear is mounted above the first gear and operably coupled thereto. A keeper rotatably mounted the second gear and is configured to couple with a power tool so as to rapidly rotate the second gear.

Ratchet tightener

The invention relates to a tensioning device for tensioning chains, straps, cables or similar tensioning means (1), having at least one tubular tensioning nut (2) and at least one threaded bolt (3) passing into the tensioning nut (2) and interacting therewith, wherein the threaded bolt (3) is equipped with at least one unscrewing prevention means (9; 10a, 10b, 11) at the end, and wherein the threaded bolt (3) is equipped at the end with a thread-free region (9) and a stop (10a, 10b, 11) adjoining thereto as the unscrewing prevention means (9; 10a, 10b, 11).

Load binder apparatus and method of using

A load binding tool for securing a load, the load binder including an elongated threaded contraction expansion assembly including an elongated threaded member having opposing ends with opposite screw threading, and having opposing engaging ends, and enabling common contraction or extension of the respective opposing engaging ends when the elongated threaded member is rotated one direction or another, and a driven sheave, a drive shaft, a primary drive sheave, and a closed loop of chain or other flexible coupler movably engaged with the driven sheave and the primary drive sheave, wherein the drive shaft can be rotated to turn the primary drive sheave and move the opposing engaging ends closer together or further apart. The drive shaft can be coupled with an external drive coupling that can be engaged with a separate drive tool to rotate the drive shaft and operate the load binding tool.

Belt puller and method for pulling belt ends together
12516714 · 2026-01-06 · ·

A method for pulling a modular conveyor belt and a belt puller for performing the method. The belt puller has eyelets on one end that interleave with hinge elements on an end of a modular conveyor belt. A rod through the eyelets and the hinge elements connects the belt to the puller, which can then be used to pull the belt. Two ends of an unconnected belt can be pulled together by connecting a belt puller to each end, joining the belt pullers with a ratchet strap or other pulling tool, and tightening the strap to pull the ends together.

Adjustable tensioning device

An adjustable tensioning device may include an elongated barrel having a threaded aperture and a barrel gear encircling the barrel perpendicular to a rotational axis. A threaded shaft, having a tensioning element, may be coupled to the threaded aperture. An alignment arm, having an elongated length, may be coupled to the threaded shaft and/or tensioning element, the elongated length contacting an arm brace coupled to the gearbox. A drive gear of the gearbox may engage the barrel gear. A motivation coupler may be operatively coupled to the drive gear such that rotational motion applied to the motivation coupler is communicated to the drive gear. Rotation of the motivation coupler may result in rotation of the barrel and linear movement of the tensioning element towards or away from the barrel. The engagement of the elongated length and the arm brace maintains orientation of the gearbox relative to the alignment arm.
