Facemask with Vibrating Alert Device
A self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) facemask with a mask-mounted regulator having a pneumatic vibrating alert device. The pneumatic vibrating alert device is vibrationally coupled to at least one face-contacting component of the facemask and is acoustically isolated from the surrounding environment.
CUSTOM-CONTROLLABLE POWERED RESPIRATOR FACE MASK
Embodiments relate generally to respirator face masks, and specifically to powered face masks which may be custom-controllable to better provide for the specific air needs of the individual user wearing the mask. For example, the face mask embodiments typically include a filter and a motorized fan, both generally located on the face mask itself, along with a processor. The processor then may use inputs, for example specific to the user and/or the environment, to control the fan speed. Thus, the fan speed of the face mask may be custom controlled to provide the appropriate amount of filtered air as the specific user needs it.
SMART MASK CAPABLE OF MONITORING AIR QUALITY INHALED BY USER
Disclosed is a smart mask capable of monitoring air quality, which is inhaled by a user. A smart mask, according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a main body which forms an internal space by being placed on a partial region of a user's face including the nose and mouth; a close contact portion which is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the main body and brings the main body into close contact with the face when the smart mask is worn; a filter part which is formed on the main body to filter outside air and then provide the outside air into the internal space of the main body; and an internal sensor which is formed inside the main body to measure air quality of the internal space.
POWERED AIR BREATHING APPARATUS
A safety breathing apparatus has a sensor for measuring the difference in pressure between two point 1a, 1b in the gas delivered to a head unit 9. The sensor is used to measure the difference in the pressure of the gas supplied through the apparatus between the two points in the gas flow, and the pressure difference is then used to calculate the gas flow rate.
AIR PURIFIER APPARATUS WITH FLEXIBLE FILTER MODULES
The invention relates to a modular, portable, air purifier device capable of supplying filtered or otherwise conditioned airflow to an individual. More specifically, the present invention provides an air purification system that allows for the remote detection and analysis of local ambient air quality and transmit that information to wirelessly connected devices.
Breath Responsive Powered Air Purifying Respirator
An air purifying respirator includes a dual stage fan that sucks outside air in through the filter canisters and then pushes the filtered air on to the user's mask or hood, where excess air escapes. A differential pressure sensor measures the pressure within the passages after the dual stage fan and in the ambient environment to estimate the user's rate of respiration. The microcontroller monitors the estimated rate of respiration, as well as the estimated altitude and its estimated amount of oxygen to calculate a user's filtered air flow need. The microcontroller adjusts the van via a fan controller to the appropriate air flow level. The microcontroller further monitors the battery level, filter life, and for low pressure within the user's mask and operates their respective indicators when problem levels arise. The battery supplies power to the microcontroller, power on/off button, and the dual stage fan.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR ADSORPTION CAPACITY ESTIMATION
A filter remaining capacity detection system is presented that includes a parameter retriever that retrieves parameter information for an atmosphere around the filter. The system also includes an adsorption estimate generator that, based on the parameter information retrieved, solves a set of controlling equations to generate an adsorption estimate. The controlling equations are a set of mass and energy balance equations. The system also includes a remaining capacity detector that, based on the adsorption estimate, generates a remaining capacity estimate. The system also includes a signal generator that generates a signal if the remaining capacity estimate is below a threshold.
End of service life indicating systems for layered filter cartridges
Layered filtered cartridge systems with an End of Service Life Indicating system include a filter cartridge that includes filter media. The filter media includes a multi-layer construction, of a first sorbent layer, a second sorbent layer, and a sensing element adjacent to the first and second sorbent layers such that an indicating element of the sensing element is located at the interface between the first and second sorbent layers. The first sorbent layer has a higher adsorption capacity and/or higher adsorption rate than the second sorbent layer. The sensing element indicates the passage of an adsorption wavefront through the filter cartridge.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MONITORING A SERVICE LIFE OF A FILTER WITH A RESPIRATOR FILTER SAMPLING PORT ASSEMBLY
A system for monitoring service life of a filter may include a respirator configured to be worn by an individual. The respirator may include a face mask and a filter housing that retains a filter within a filter chamber. A sensor assembly may be configured to monitor gas from the filter chamber. A respirator filter sampling port assembly is configured to adaptively connect the filter housing to the sensor assembly. The respirator filter sampling port assembly may include an adapter that removably secures to the filter housing, and fluidly couples the filter chamber of the filter housing to the sensor assembly.
VIRUS/BIOHAZARD INDICATING DISPOSABLE FACE MASK
A face mask, including a body and at least one securing mechanism operatively attached thereto, and a used indicator mechanism for indicating that the face mask is used and an infectious disease detection mechanism for indicating if the user wearing the face mask has an infectious disease operatively integrated into the body. A method of indicating whether a face mask is used, by a user actuating a used indicator mechanism on the face mask, wearing the face mask, and the used indicator mechanism indicating that the face mask is used. A method of indicating whether a user has an infectious disease, by a user actuating an infectious disease mechanism on a face mask, wearing the face mask, and the infectious disease mechanism indicating that the user has an infectious disease by changing from a first color to a second color.
