ADJUSTABLE BUNGEE FASTENER
20210088108 · 2021-03-25 ·

The bungee fastener has a tapered chute that accepts a locking slider. A channel forms an opening in a side of the body thereby allowing passage of the slider through the channel. A plurality of slider teeth along a portion of the slider within the tapered chute may lock onto a bungee when the slider is slid into a locked position. The slider moves along the channel, thereby selectively narrowing the tapered chute with the slider teeth as the slider is slid into the locked position and enlarging the tapered chute as the slider is slid into the unlocked position. The bungee fastener may include a single slider or a plurality of sliders.

Barrier cable anchor
10947754 · 2021-03-16 ·

A barrier cable anchor may include an anchor body including an inner surface, a retainer having a retainer body and the retainer body being retained to the anchor body, a collar having an outer surface and an inner surface and being at least partially within the anchor body, one or more wedges positioned within the tapered inner surface of the collar, and a nut engaging the collar and retained to the anchor body. The retainer may include a pin end retained to the inner surface of the anchor body and the nut may include a threaded outer surface so that rotating the nut within the anchor body advances the retaining collar and thereby tensions the barrier cable.

Cable armoring system
10961683 · 2021-03-30 ·

A novel cable construction provides an armored covering over a cable containing high-strength synthetic filaments. The synthetic cable is provided with a strong and tough termination where it attaches to the prior art dragline or power shovel digging equipment. An external armoring is then provided from the termination for a specified distance up the cable. The armoring ceases prior to the point where the cable passes over a pulley. At that point the cable just carries a conventional encapsulating jacket. A collar is preferably provided to seal the end of the armoring portion to the jacket.

WIRE ATTACHMENT
20210088109 · 2021-03-25 ·

A swaged fitting can be fixed to a wire rope while simultaneously providing a desired shape and size, thereby avoiding the need for subsequent material removal. In one application, the swaged fitting is fixed to the wire rope by a forging operation such that the fitting is securely fixed provides a straight-sided construct once fixed to the wire rope. After the forging operation and without further material removal, the straight sides of the finished fitting are generally parallel to the longitudinal axis of the wire rope, while the end surfaces of the fitting are generally perpendicular to this longitudinal axis. This arrangement provides a strong and effective force-transfer interface for, e.g., end-effectors in medical devices.

Potting neck enhancement

A cable termination in which part of the potted region is free flex somewhat. A portion of the potted region is maintained within an anchor and rigidly held in the conventional fashion. Another portion, however, extends out of the anchor to ease the transition between the unpotted cable filaments and the filaments locked within the anchor.

CLAMP FOR ENGAGING OBJECTS HAVING DIFFERENT EXTERIOR DIMENSIONS, AND A CABLE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM INCLUDING SUCH A CLAMP

A clamp, and cable management system including the clamp, includes a bolster with a first clamping surface, and a keeper that is to be coupled to the bolster. The keeper is adjustable relative to the bolster to establish a first separation of the keeper from the first clamping surface of the bolster, and a second separation of the keeper from the first clamping surface of the bolster. The first separation is different from the second separation. The keeper includes a second clamping surface configured to cooperate with a first object having a first exterior dimension, and a third clamping surface, different from the second clamping surface, that is configured to cooperate with a second object having a second exterior dimension.

REEL BASED CLOSURE SYSTEM

A reel based closure device includes a housing, a tension member, a spool that is rotatably positioned within the housing, and a tightening component that is positioned axially above the spool and that is operably coupled therewith so that an operation of the tightening component causes the spool to rotate within the housing to wind the tension member about the spool. The reel based closure device also includes a coupling component that is separate from the tension member and that frictionally engages with a distal end of the tension member so that the coupling component is removably fixed to the tension member. The spool component includes a coupling feature within which the coupling component is positioned to attach the tension member to the spool.

Inverted Injection Method of Affixing a Termination to a Tensile Member
20210033170 · 2021-02-04 ·

A method for attaching an anchor to an end of a tensile member by inverting the assembly of anchor and tensile member and injecting pressurized potting compound. A length of filaments of the tensile member are placed within a cavity through the anchor. The anchor and filaments are placed in an inverted position, with the distal end of the anchor facing downward and the cable extending upward out of the anchor. If the anchor has an open distal end this is sealed. Liquid potting compound is injected into the anchor cavity and allowed to solidify. During the solidification process, a controlled translation (pulling) of the cable is preferably introduced.
