The invention relates to a harness comprising a belt and a pair of thigh straps and a ventral suspension point. The ventral suspension point comprises: a connector positioned on the belt, the connector comprising a connecting ring fitted movable in rotation with respect to the belt by means of a rod of longitudinal axis, the rod comprising a first end and a second end opposite the first end along the axis of rotation of the connecting ring, a first attachment part and a second attachment part designed to be connected to an external device, the first attachment part and the second attachment part being placed on the connector along the axis of rotation of the connecting ring and outside the connecting ring.

Standing vehicle occupant restraint system

Presented herein is a restraint system comprising an attachment point configured to attach to a hatch opening of a vehicle, a harness having a seat and a strap attached to the attachment point and to the seat. The harness is configured to accept an occupant and support a portion of the occupant at a position below the hatch opening. The restraint system further comprises an energy absorption mechanism configured to dampen rapid acceleration or deceleration of the occupant. The strap is attached to the attachment point by a quick release mechanism. The energy absorption mechanism may comprise a retraction mechanism having a damper mechanism that is a spring, a coil spring, a viscous fluid, a fluid having a dynamically changeable viscosity or a magnetorheological fluid. The energy absorption mechanism may comprise tear-away sections configured to dampen vehicle motion energy.

Roping harness

A roping harness having a sit harness, pair of shoulder straps, and at least one securing link having a first strap unfurlable in the lengthwise direction, and composed of two superposed strands secured to one another by a stitching area, designed to tear when a fall happens separating the strands and moving the connecting loop from a lowered to a raised position. The securing link includes a second strap connecting the sternal attachment to the corresponding sit harness strap. The first strap bottom strand is attached to the belt and is shorter length than the unfurlable top strand. The top strand is fixed to the sternal attachment, such that tearing of the stitching area releases the bottom strand. The top strand moves to the raised position attached to the sternal attachment to transfer the reaction of the shock of a fall onto the second strap connected with the leg loops.

APPARATUS FOR SUPPORTING A PERSON AT HEIGHT

An apparatus for supporting a person working at height includes a harness and seat assembly. The seat assembly includes a supporting platform, flexible connection members secured to the platform, and a connector on each flexible connection member. The harness has two forward connection arrangements and a flexible load-bearing member extending between the forward connection arrangements, the forward connection arrangements transferring load from the back and the leg loops to the load-bearing member. Each forward connection arrangement includes a body permanently connected to the harness and a retainer to secure the flexible load-bearing member to the body, and an attachment aperture through which a respective connector is passed to releasably connect the connector and the attached connection member to the forward connection member. Thus, a load carried on the supporting platform is transferred through the connection members, the connectors and the forward connection arrangement to the flexible load-bearing member.

Safety harness bridge rope engagement system

A safety harness bridge rope engagement system includes a harness and a pair of bridge connectors attached to the harness. The bridge connectors are configured to engage a bridge rope. Each of the bridge connectors has a plurality of channels therein. One of the channels is selected to receive a bridge rope to retain the bridge rope at the selected location to adjust the point of pressure between the harness and user of the harness.

Contoured saddle assembly

A contoured saddle assembly includes a saddle with a closed loop formed by an upper strap, a lower strap, a first lateral strap and a second lateral strap. Each of the upper and lower straps has a forward edge lying in a forward plane and rearward edge lying in a rearward plane. A panel comprising a flexible material is attached to and extends from the first lateral strap to the second lateral strap. A receiving section of the panel traverses a space between the upper and lower straps. The receiving section has a concavely shaped interior surface facing the forward plane. A belt strap is attached to the saddle adjacent to the upper strap and a pair of leg straps each has an attached end attached to the saddle.

Tree saddle

A tree saddle includes a first panel having first and second ends with a body portion disposed therebetween, and a second panel having first and second ends with a body portion disposed therebetween. One or more connecting members operably couple the first and second panels to one another. A magnetic coupling system includes a first magnetic array disposed on the first panel, and a second magnetic array disposed on the second panel. The first magnetic array is magnetically coupled to the second magnetic array when the tree saddle is in a coupled condition. The first magnetic array is uncoupled from the second magnetic array when the tree saddle is in an uncoupled condition. The tree saddle includes a first profile when the tree saddle is in the uncoupled condition that is greater than a second profile of the tree saddle when the tree saddle is in the coupled condition.

Trunk control systems and wheelchairs comprising same

A trunk control system having a harness assembly and a flexion control assembly. The harness assembly has a backrest member and a harness secured to the backrest member. The backrest member is configured to be moveably coupled to a wheelchair. The backrest member is selectively moveable about and between a fully retracted position and a fully extended position. The harness cooperates with the backrest member to define a receiving space for receiving at least a portion of a torso of a wheelchair user. The flexion control assembly is coupled to the backrest member of the harness assembly. The flexion control assembly is configured to selectively permit or restrict movement of the backrest member about and between the fully retracted position and the fully extended position.

Bridge rope assembly

A bridge rope assembly includes a main body comprising a rope that has a first end and a second end. The rope has a splice therein to form an eye loop in the main body. The eye loop is configured to engage a first bridge loop of a harness. The main body comprises a first portion including the first end and a second portion including the second end. The first portion extends through the second portion of the main body such that the first end is positioned adjacent to the second end. A distance between the first and second ends is less than 2.0 inches.

A harness for supporting a person working at height, including a back, leg loops, two forward connection arrangements and a flexible load-bearing member extending between the connection arrangements, which flexible load-bearing member carries a sliding attachment device attached to a climbing line. The forward connection arrangements transfers load from the back and the leg loops to the load-bearing member. Each forward connection arrangement includes: a body with apertures through which a leg riser webbing of the harness pass to connect the body to the back and the leg loops of the harness; and a bridge passage through which the flexible load-bearing member passes. A forward connection arrangement further includes a rope adjuster with a cam in the bridge passage. The cam pivots on an axle on the body. The cam cooperates with a locking surface of the body within the bridge passage to effect locking of a rope.
