SAFETY HOOK FASTENING CONDITION PREDICTION SYSTEM
Provided is a safety hook fastening condition prediction system. More particularly, provided is a safety hook fastening condition prediction system that provides a central axis to a conventional safety hook zone, attaches a safety hook fastening case to the central axis, senses a safety hook fastening condition using sensor values of a pressure sensor, a movement sensor, and an altitude sensor in the safety hook fastening case, and predicts a risk.
Safety harness motion detector systems and methods for use
Systems and methods for monitoring elevations of a set of workers at a job site include reference devices for capturing barometric pressures at different installation elevations on a structure and portable barometric pressure sensors carried by the workers. An atmospheric pressure offset may be calculated using the reference barometric pressures and installation elevations. The atmospheric pressure offset may be applied to atmospheric pressure measurements captured by the barometric pressure sensors carried by the workers to determine worker elevations. The worker elevations may be converted to corresponding floors of the structure.
Adjustable body belt having D-rings/attachments
A single and multiple body belt for use by linemen and others engaged in operations on poles or similar structures having at least a primary body belt, which can be disposed below and detachably connected to a secondary body belt in the multiple body belt configuration. The primary body belt and the secondary body belt each have at least one pair of D-rings. The D-rings, which may differ in size, are separated enough to allow a wearer to distinguish between devices that are normally solely attached to one pair of primary D-rings. The body belts (or other portions) may also have an adjustability section through which a belt strap is woven to either extend or shorten the length of the respective belt strap. The adjustability section allows a lineman to further adjust the tightness of the belt (or other portions) around his or her waist to provide improved support and safety.
QUICK RELEASE BUCKLE AND HARNESS COMPRISING THE SAME
A quick release buckle includes a housing defining a first opening therethrough and includes an engaging surface disposed adjacent to the first opening. A webbing is received through the first opening of the housing. A first pawl and a second pawl are pivotally mounted to the housing. A catch is at least partially received between the first pawl and the second pawl. A first pawl biasing member and a second pawl biasing member are engaged with the first pawl and the second pawl, respectively, and are configured to bias the first pawl and the second pawl into engagement with the catch. A bar is slidably received within the housing and extends across the first opening. A first bar biasing member and a second bar biasing member are configured to bias the bar toward the engaging surface, such that the webbing is gripped between the bar and the engaging surface.
LOCKING MECHANISM WITH MULTIPLE STAGE LOCKING VERIFICATION
A system and method for a locking mechanism that includes an ability to indicate proper engagement via a signal cable coupled through a harness. The locking mechanism may include electronic components including three magnetic actuators and corresponding electronic switches that signal change of state. Locking tabs and a leading edge of the insert respectively include the three magnetic actuators. The electronic switches, which may be magnetically activated reed switches, signal status change to an external controller and, optionally, an external computer. Further, status signals and power signals may be routed through a steel cable or woven nylon harness that coupled the locking mechanism to a local anchor point. Change of status notification may be important on critical safety worksites where lack of mechanical and electronic connection can be life threatening.
Methods and apparatus for generating energy using fall protection devices
A fall protection device comprises an energy harvester to generate electrical power in response to movement of an elongate member and a circuit powered by the generated electrical power; an impact indicator connected to an elongate member, a controller connected to the elongate member and/or the impact indicator to generate a message in response to impact, and a transmitter connected to the controller to transmit the message; and/or a sensor connected to an elongate member and a controller connected to the sensor to generate a message in response to movement of the elongate member. The fall protection device could include a generator to generate electrical power, an energy storage capacitor to store the generated electrical power, a controller powered by the energy storage capacitor to generate a message in response to action, and a wireless transmitter powered by the energy storage capacitor to transmit the message.
Harness configurations for a suspension device
A harness system for harnessing a user to a suspension device. The harness comprises a strap system having a plurality of straps configured and operable to connect the suspension device to a back region of the harness, each strap having a back end portion at said back region and connectable to the suspension device, and a front end portion located in a front side of the harness. The straps extend from the back region to the front side of the harness and wrap around all sides of a torso of said user. A single connector assembly is used for quick connection of front end portions of at least some of the straps at the front side of the harness in a single interlocking operation, thereby to secure the harness to the user.
CONVERTIBLE HARNESS
A convertible harness system which may be selectively transitioned between a utility belt, sit-harness, and full body harness, is herein disclosed. The convertible harness system may include a utility belt, a leg loop assembly, and a chest harness, wherein the leg loop assembly may be reversibly coupled to the utility belt by passing a primary attachment point of the leg loop assembly through an attachment slot/opening in the utility belt and securing the primary attachment point to the utility belt by girth-hitching the primary attachment point to the utility belt using a primary attachment loop coupled to the primary attachment point. The convertible harness system disclosed herein may enable a wearer rapidly and reversibly couple a leg loop assembly to a utility belt, without removing or unbuckling the utility belt, and without use of a carabiner or other conventional locking device.
SMART SAFETY APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD
The disclosed device, system, and method may comprise one or more devices for digital personal protective equipment. These devices may be network enabled wearables. A plurality of sensors, data transmission mechanisms, self-illuminating LEDs, and communication mechanisms may be embedded in a suspension or harness in various embodiments. A number of sensors may likewise be provided in a glove or earbud (ear plug). The device may measure various aspects of a wearer's movement and transmit that data over a data connection (such as a wifi or mobile connection) to a server. The server may house project and human resources data, worker and condition information, and materials and supplies data, according to various examples of embodiments. The system may further comprise one or more applications which may interpret the data provided.
