Multi-function surgical instruments
10912601 · 2021-02-09 · ·

A surgical instrument including housing having a shaft extending distally therefrom, an outer sleeve disposed about the shaft and selectively translatable relative to the shaft, a first drive shaft disposed within the shaft and translatable relative to the shaft independently of the outer sleeve, a second drive shaft disposed within the first drive shaft and coupled to the outer sleeve to translate in conjunction with the outer sleeve, and a rotatable nose wheel. The rotatable nose wheel is mounted about a distal end of the housing and is rotatably coupled to each of the outer sleeve, the shaft, the first drive shaft, and the second drive shaft such that rotation of the rotatable nose wheel effects corresponding rotation of the outer sleeve, the shaft, the first drive shaft, and the second drive shaft in conjunction with one another and relative to the housing.

DRIVE DEVICE

A movable-side magnet is provided to a movable portion in a vacuum chamber. A drive unit is provided outside the vacuum chamber, and drives the movable portion by exerting magnetic force on the movable-side magnet. The drive unit has a first magnet, a second magnet, and a moving mechanism (moving member). The first magnet exerts magnetic force of attracting the movable-side magnet. The second magnet is provided to be adjacent to the first magnet, and exerts magnetic force of repelling the movable-side magnet. The moving mechanism integrally moves the first magnet and the second magnet.

DISPLAY LIFT ARM

A display assembly has a linkage and counterbalance made to provide non-tilting movement of a display at the end of a support arm while providing counterbalance equal to a change in potential energy of the display. The linkage can be a four-bar, parallelogram-shaped linkage, and the counterbalance can include a Scotch yoke configured to store energy in an energy storage device of the assembly as the support arm rotates. The display assembly can improve comfort and ease of moving a supported display while minimizing friction, hysteresis, and counterbalance mismatch.

Hydraulic tool for use with a clamp connector

A hydraulic tool for use with a clamp connector where a first clamping element and a second clamping element of the clamp connector are pivotable towards each other into a closed position by exerting a pulling force on an operating shaft and a pushing force on a spacer sleeve, and where said first and second clamping elements are lockable in said closed position by tightening a locking nut against a shoulder on the spacer sleeve. The tool includes a pulling element; a hydraulic power unit for moving the pulling element in relation to the spacer sleeve and thereby allow the hydraulic tool to exert a pulling force on the operating shaft and a pushing force on the spacer sleeve; a rotatable actuating member with a socket engageable with the locking nut; and a drive motor for rotating the actuating member to allow the actuating member to rotate the locking nut.

Mechanical torque generator and related kinematic chains

This invention is related to a mechanical torque generator (MTG) (11), the cost, the maintenance costs and the energy consumption of which have been minimized, as much as possible, since the reaction forces, the reaction moments and the frictional forces at the joints that connect the mechanism to the ground have been minimized as much as possible; which does not possess any actuators; and which can generate any desired torque variation. MTG (11) may be obtained by using 3 novel kinematic chains. By using these kinematic chains, it is also possible to obtain general purpose mechanisms, which have advantages similar to the MTG (11); which may include an actuator; which may generate relative rotational motion at a joint as any desired function of relative translational motion at another joint; which may be used in many different fields such as hydraulic and pneumatic machines, internal combustion engines and compressors.
