Fall protection system
A fall protection system having a top bracket assembly that is mountable to a top portion of the ladder, a spaced bottom bracket assembly that is mountable to a bottom portion of the ladder, and a cable extending therebetween portions of the top bracket assembly and the bottom bracket assembly substantially parallel to a plane bisecting the vertical ladder at a desired distance from the plane.
ACTION SPORT FALL PROTECTION SYSTEM
A sporting venue includes a sporting course having a first topography over which an athlete traverses and a fall protection system. The fall protection system includes an overhead support structure having one or more cables or trusses extending over the sporting course and configured to support the weight of the athlete, a trolley slidably engaged with the overhead support structure and configured to travel with the athlete while traversing the sporting course, a self-retracting fall arrestor comprising a lanyard operably coupled to a braking system configured to prevent or slow a fall of the athlete, and a lanyard extending from the self-retracting fall arrestor and configured to couple to a harness of the athlete.
Fall-Protection Device
A fall-protection device for use with a safety harness of a user includes at least one housing. The fall-protection device further includes at least one lifeline extending from the at least one housing and configured to be connected to an anchor. The fall-protection device further includes at least one bracket pivotally connected to the at least one housing and pivotable relative to the at least one housing about a first axis. The fall-protection device further includes an attachment member rotatably connected to the at least one bracket and rotatable relative to the at least one bracket about a second axis inclined to the first axis. The attachment member is configured to be directly or indirectly connected to the safety harness.
Portable Fall Protection System for Railcars
A portable fall protection system for use with a railcar, having draw bar adapters removably attachable to the fore and aft draw bars of the railcar, and masts removably mountable on the draw bar adapters, such that the masts extend above the upper surface of the railcar when mounted, and a cable for extending between upper ends of the masts to receive a user connection member connecting the user to the cable to allow the user to walk along the upper surface of the railcar. A winch and a weight indicator may be provided at the ends of the cable to tension the cable. Additional tensioning cables are provided for securing the masts to the rails in front of and behind the railcar.
Energy absorber device
An energy absorber device for use in a fall protection system has an energy absorber in the form of an elongate flexible element having first end spaced apart from and a second end. A containment structure (such as a housing or jacket) contains the energy absorber in an un-deployed state and has a first end secured with respect to the elongate flexible element near the first end of the elongate flexible element. The second end of the containment structure has a deployment exit such that in the event of deployment of the energy absorber arrangement, the elongate flexible element is pulled through the deployment exit. The device provides for easier deployment of the elongate flexible element than other designs employing hard shell casings or housings. Movement on the elongate flexible element is also highly resisted.
Fall protection compliance system and method
A fall protection compliance system includes a fall limiting device connected to an anchor. The fall limiting device comprises a connection device and a sensor system associated with the connection device. The sensor system is configured to determine whether a connector is connected to the connection device and to transmit a signal based on detecting that the connector is connected to the connection device, where operation of a machine associated with the anchor is controlled based on the signal.
Fall restraint system
A fall restraint assembly, including a harness, at least one base line including a first end and a second end, a first line including a third end slidingly connected to the at least one base line and a fourth end connected to the harness, and a second line including a fifth end slidingly connected to the at least one base line and a sixth end connected to the harness.
Wireline traversal device
A wireline traversal device may include an outer housing having a longitudinal slot, and an inner housing rotatably disposed within the outer housing. The inner housing includes a helical slot, a forward end of which is aligned with the longitudinal slot in the outer housing when the inner housing is in a home position. A forward end cap having a longitudinal slot and an inclined engagement surface is attached to a forward end of the outer housing. The longitudinal slot on the outer housing is aligned with the longitudinal slot on the forward end cap. The wireline traversal device may be used in a variety of applications in connection with a wireline, such as a zip line or safety line. Capability to steer the device at a fork or branch in a wireline is also disclosed.
