SYSTEM FOR MONITORING A FALL ARREST DEVICE
20200261753 · 2020-08-20 ·

A system for monitoring a fall arrest device, where said fall arrest device is a lifeline of a flexible rope or track type, comprising: a first sensor (15) for measuring the oscillations of said fall arrest device; a control unit (13) being electrically connected to said first sensor (15); said control unit (13) being electrically connected to a control centre (45); said control centre (45) being designed to evaluate whether an event selected from among a series of predefined events has occurred, based on the measurements carried out by said first sensor; in the case of a positive outcome said control centre (45) being designed to warn of the occurred event, with a signal.

Fall arrest device

A fall arrest device comprises a guide for a track member which, in use, passes through the device, a cam member including a cam portion, and a clutch responsive to at least one of the relative speed and relative acceleration of the fall arrest device and the track member. The clutch serves to determine when the relative speed and/or acceleration is at least a predetermined value. The clutch includes a trigger arm connecting to the cam member so as to move the cam portion of the cam member toward the guide so as to lock the track member between the cam member and the guide when at least the predetermined value is attained.

Wood anchoring device

A wood anchoring device having a connecting ring defining a closed connecting aperture and at least two ties, at least two of the at least two ties having respective fastening holes at anchoring ends thereof. The device may be fastened to the thin side of a 2N piece of lumber through the fastening holes, wherein the at least two of the at least two ties are on the same side of the connecting ring relative to the axis of a test tensile load applied to the connecting ring in a direction perpendicular to the elongate axis of the piece of lumber. At least one of the ties has a length that is substantially different from a corresponding length of at least one other tie, the different lengths providing for responding to tensile loading by stretching differentially and thereby assisting in equalizing the forces applied to the fastening holes.

Fall Protection Compliance System and Method

A connector for a fall protection compliance system includes a frame having an opening and a connection area configured for receiving a connection structure therein and a connection sensor assembly associated with the frame. The connection sensor assembly includes at least one permanent magnet configured for generating a magnetic field within at least a portion of the connection area, at least one magnetometer configured for detecting a presence or an absence of a disturbance in the magnetic field, and a control device having at least one processor programmed or configured to receive connection data from the at least one magnetometer, determine a connection status of the connector based on detecting the presence or the absence of the disturbance in the magnetic field, and perform at least one action based on the connection status. A method for detecting connection of a connector to a connection structure is also disclosed.

Fall restraint system

The present system for fall restraint includes a mounting frame connected to a trigger mechanism and firing blocks, with a trigger cable extending through apertures in the mounting frame and trigger mechanism. Sudden movement by a user, such as a fall, actuates the trigger mechanism to trigger the firing blocks. The firing blocks are loaded with anchors and firing cartridges. Triggering the firing blocks causes the cartridges to fire, propelling the anchors into an anchoring surface, such as a roof. Because the user is connected to the trigger cable, once the anchors deploy the user is anchored to the roof and their fall arrested.

A wire gripper includes a wire gripper body member including a fixed gripping body, an operating member pivotably mounted to the wire gripper body member, a movable gripping body member including a linear body holding portion, and a coupling member for pivotally moving the operating member, wherein a larger weight is allocated to the wire gripper body member, the operating member, and the movable gripping body member than the coupling member. A grasp portion for grasping the wire gripper is provided in a region near the center of gravity and on the pulling side of the coupling member, the grasp portion being formed so that the grasp portion can be grasped by a finger and/or a palm.

Safety line shock absorber
10695595 · 2020-06-30 · ·

In at least one embodiment, a lifeline includes a wire rope and a shock absorber. In some embodiments, the shock absorber includes a tubular body defining a lumen therethrough. The tubular body defines a longitudinal axis including curvature along its length.
