The harness adapter is repositionable along a length of the horizontal support.
Protective equipment comprising a sensor device
Protective equipment for protecting a person from an emergency situation is disclosed. The protective equipment has a securing device, which is portable by the person, having a securing system for protecting the person from an emergency situation. Furthermore, the protective equipment has a sensor device for detecting a dangerous situation prior to the emergency situation of the person, when the sensor device is coupled with the securing system in such a way that upon detection of the dangerous situation of the person, the sensor device automatically sets the securing system in a securing state for protecting the person.
SELF-RETRACTING LANYARD WITH FALL PROTECTION HARNESS TRACKER
A self-retracting lanyard system includes a self-retracting lanyard having a main body and a retractable line, a harness connected to the retractable line and wearable by the user of the self-retracting lanyard, and an electronic device disposable on the harness. The electronic device includes an accelerometer, a processor or programmable circuit, and a non-transitory program storage medium on which are stored instructions executable by the processor or programmable circuit to perform operations including receiving a measurement from the accelerometer, comparing the measurement to a threshold, detecting that the user of the self-retracting lanyard has fallen based on a result of the comparing, and instructing a wireless transmitter to transmit a wireless signal in response to the detection that the user has fallen.
Lineman harness and harness adapter systems
An integral lineman safety harness system, having: a body harness having: a belt; a back ring; a left belt strap; and a right belt strap; and a harness adapter having: a first strap having a first top end; wherein a first harness loop at a first bottom end and the left belt strap are sewn around a first ring element; a second strap having a second top end; wherein a second harness loop at a second bottom end and the right belt strap are sewn around a second ring element; a third strap having a third top end; wherein a back loop at a third bottom end is sewn around the back ring; wherein the first strap, the second strap, and the third strap join at the first top end, the second top end, and the third top end into a single top loop configured to receive a locking element.
SMART FALL ARREST SYSTEM
A smart fall arrest system is provided and includes a fall arrest device and an intelligent module fixed to the fall arrest device. The intelligent module includes a range finder, a user alert device, a processor and an accelerometer module. The processor is configured to determine a vertical clearance distance underlying a worksite based on signals from the range finder and the accelerometer module, the processor determines if the fall arrest device is appropriate and if the anchor point selected for connecting the fall arrest device is at an appropriate height.
Safety Check Apparatus for Challenge Course
A safety check apparatus and method for testing a lanyard system prior to entering a challenge course. The apparatus comprises a track arranged at an entrance of the challenge course. The track includes a first position and a second position above a supporting surface. A moveable member is supported by and displaceable relative to the track. The track is connected to a course track that traverses the challenge course such that the moveable member is displaceable therebetween. A lanyard is attached to the moveable member and extends a length from the moveable member. A user harness is coupled to the lanyard. When at least a portion of a user's weight is supported by the harness, the connection point between the harness and the lanyard is positioned higher above the supporting surface at the second position of the track than at the first position of the track.
Fall arrest ladder system
A fall arrest ladder system including a housing assembly having a retractable lanyard, braking system, safety line, and webbing belt is disclosed. The fall arrest system allows for the safe deceleration of the user from an elevated position on a ladder to prevent the user from making harmful contact with the ground. The safety line and retractable lanyard are each attached to a ladder and then attached to the webbing belt worn by the user, permitting the user to freely move along the length of the ladder while remaining tethered securely in the event of a slip or fall from the ladder. The safety line prevents the user from falling away from the ladder while the retractable lanyard and incorporated braking system decelerate the user during a downward fall.
ROPE BASED FALL PROTECTION DEVICE
A rope based fall protection device including a rotation unit, a brake unit, and a rope. A first end of the rope is connected to the rotation unit. The rope includes a first rope loop and a second rope loop that are wound around the rotation unit. A first retaining portion of a retaining ring is sleeved on the first rope loop and a second retaining portion thereof is sleeved on the second rope loop, such that the rope forms a rope section which has a fixed length between the second retaining portion and the first end and is wound around the rotation unit. When a free end of the rope is pulled by an external force to release the rope wound around the rotation unit in a direction away from the rotation unit, the retaining ring is broken to release the rope section of the rope. The external force is greater than or equal to a pulling force generated by a user's free fall. By releasing the rope section of the rope, the rotation unit rotates and simultaneously drives the brake unit to rotate to slow down or stop the rotation of the rotation unit.
Energy absorber coil for safety harness
An energy absorber for a safety harness has a first end, a second end, and an energy absorbing portion between the first end and the second end. The energy absorbing portion has a first load-bearing web integrally bound to a second load-bearing web. The energy absorbing portion is coiled in a spiral shape in an undeployed configuration. The energy absorbing portion is deployable from the undeployed configuration to a deployed configuration when the first end is pulled away from the second end due to a force exceeding a minimum predetermined force threshold such that at least a portion of the first load-bearing web tears away from at least a portion of the second load-bearing web. The first load-bearing web and the second load-bearing web are integrally bound in the energy absorbing portion by a plurality of binder threads.
SAFETY DEVICE FOR ASSISTING A USER TO TRAVERSE A STRUCTURE
A system assists a user to traverse a structure. A safety device includes a sensor assembly to detect positions of a user along a travel path for a structure, wherein the travel path includes a plurality of attachment points to secure the user to the structure via one or more lines, a motion assembly to move the safety device along the travel path based on the detected positions of the user, wherein the motion assembly maintains a threshold distance from the user, and a coupling mechanism to couple the one or more lines to one or more of the attachment points encountered along the travel path. Embodiments of the present invention further include a method and program product for assisting a user to traverse a structure in substantially the same manner described above.
