The invention relates to a self-securing device for securing a person, having: a first fastening element for fastening to a securing element; a second fastening element for fastening to a securing element; a communication means for communicating between the first fastening element and the second fastening element such that, in a first posture of the communication means, the first fastening element can be operated and the second fastening element is blocked and, in a second posture of the communication means, the first fastening element is blocked and the second fastening element can be operated; and a control mechanism for controlling the communication means to prevent the communication means from remaining in an undefined intermediate posture between the first posture and the second posture.

Bridge rope assembly

A bridge rope assembly includes a main body comprising a rope that has a first end and a second end. The rope has a splice therein to form an eye loop in the main body. The eye loop is configured to engage a first bridge loop of a harness. The main body comprises a first portion including the first end and a second portion including the second end. The first portion extends through the second portion of the main body such that the first end is positioned adjacent to the second end. A distance between the first and second ends is less than 2.0 inches.

Fall protection monitor

Personnel working at elevated positions use safety lines to prevent falls. Equipment being used in proximity to the personnel may interfere with the safety lines presenting a potential hazard. A fall protection monitor provides an automated and wireless sensor system for avoiding interactions between equipment and safety lines. The fall-protection monitor includes a first sensor for monitoring whether a safety line is in operation. A second sensor monitors a location of a moveable device being used in the vicinity of the safety line. A controller determines the location of the moveable device and whether the safety line is in operation. The controller prevents movement of the moveable device within a predetermined distance from an operational safety line.

Buffering backpack device for falling protection

The present invention utilizes a backpack body to define an openable accommodation chamber. The accommodation chamber further has an opening on the top end thereof for the communication of the inside and outside thereof. The accommodation chamber utilizes a restricting structure to position an energy absorption band. The energy absorption band is formed of at least a first layer and a second layer that are coincidingly bound. The top ends of the first layer and the second layer extend a first connecting portion and a second connecting portion respectively. The first connecting portion and the second connecting portion divergently protrude from the backpack body via the opening. The first connecting portion is for coupling with a safety harness, while the second connecting portion is for coupling with an anti-falling device. When the user falls, the falling will make the restricting structure release the first layer and the second layer, so that the first layer and the second layer can leave the accommodation chamber via the opening for anti-falling suspension. Accordingly, the present invention just has real improvements, including fine appearance, economic efficiency, and etc.

DISTANCE-LEARNING SAFETY RETRACTION LANYARD
20190321665 · 2019-10-24 ·

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a distance-learning safety retraction device (DLSRD) mechanically coupled to a fixed anchor point on a boundary-mapped surface, the DLSRD including two receivers in operable communication with a transmitter bome on a user. In an illustrative example, the DLSRD may determine an angle between a lanyard coupled to the user and a vertical plane between the two receivers. The DLSRD may include, for example, an extraction detector detecting an extracted length of the lanyard. The DLSRD may determine user proximity to a safe operating area boundary based upon a difference of a current extracted length of the lanyard to a learned extracted length associated with a current angle of the lanyard, for example. Various DLSRDs may be configured in a run-mode to apply a braking effect to the lanyard and/or to activate a warning device based upon the user's proximity to the boundary.

ROPED ACCESS SYSTEM

Disclosed is a pulley assembly in a roped access system including first and second plates and a sheave carried for rotation about an axis normal to the plates. An aperture passes through each plate parallel to the axis. The plates have a closed condition when the apertures are coaxial with one another and the plates are in contact near the apertures, forming a rope passage extending between the plates adjacent the sheave, having an upper part smaller than parts of the passage below that upper part. A roped access system includes a climbing rope passing through the rope passage and a tether connected to the climbing rope above the pulley assembly by a friction hitch and an aperture of the pulley assembly, the hitch. The hitch grips the rope upon downward force to the tether, releasing its grip upon upward force to the friction hitch by pulley assembly plates.

Cut-Resistant Leading Edge Fall Arrest System and Method

A fall arrest system includes a line retraction device having a safety line, an energy absorber configured for connecting to a terminal end of the safety line, and a harness configured for connecting to the energy absorber such that the energy absorber is disposed between the terminal end of the safety line and the harness. The safety line is selected to have a predetermined mean breaking force with a first standard deviation, and the energy absorber is selected to have a predetermined mean deployment force with a second standard deviation. The mean breaking force of the safety line and the mean deployment force of the energy absorber overlap over an overlapping region of the first and second standard deviation. A ratio of an overlap mean force of the overlapping region to an overlap standard deviation of the overlapping region is less than or equal to 6.

Line securing device

A securing device for securing a person has an axle element attached torque-proofly to a rope drum and rotatably to a support structure, such that, by the axle element, the rope drum is supported rotatably at the support structure. A lever is attached pivotably to the support structure at a deflection point. In a blocking position of the lever, a blocking section is coupled to the rope drum in order to disable a rotation of the rope drum, and in a releasing position of the lever, the blocking section is decoupled from the rope drum and the rope drum is rotatable. A thread section of the lever is coupled to a further thread section of the axle element, such that, upon rotation of the axial element, due to the rotation of the rope drum, the thread section is shifted along the axle element, such that, due to the shifting of the thread section, a rotation of the lever around the deflection point and an adjustment between the blocking position and the releasing position of the lever are effected.
