Self-Tightening Cable Clamp
A clamp for use with a cable or safety includes a receiving member and a jamming member configured to move relative to the receiving member. In use, an end of the safety line is looped around the jamming member. The clamp further may include an actuator, which is adjustable to reconfigure the clamp between: an unlocked state, wherein in the unlocked state the safety line can be moved through the clamp, and a locked state, wherein in the locked state the jamming member is urged into the receiving member. The safety line is thus clamped between the jamming member and at least a portion of the receiving member. The actuator may be a handle and the position of the handle may be manually adjustable. The clamp may include at least one indicator to provide a visual indication of the state of the clamp.
FALL-PROTECTION SYSTEM WITH MONITORING SYSTEM
A fall-protection system including a harness and a fall-protection apparatus with a lifeline bearing a connector configured to be connected to the harness; and, a fall-protection monitoring system with a base unit and with at least one sensor module configured to sense a condition of the connector and to communicate a signal indicative of the condition of the connector to the base unit.
System for integrating multiple sensor data to predict a fall risk
A method of determining the likelihood of a slip or fall comprises receiving, by a detection application stored in a non-transitory memory and executed on a processor, a plurality of sensor readings from a plurality of movement sensors, comparing, by the detection application, the plurality of sensor readings with a plurality of movement patterns stored in a database, determining, by the detection application, that at least one of the movement patterns of the plurality of movement patterns matches the plurality of sensor readings, and generating, by the detection application, an indication that a slip or fall is likely based on the plurality of sensor readings. The plurality of movement sensors is associated with different areas of a worker's body.

SMART HEIGHT SAFETY SYSTEM
Apparatus and associated methods relate to a smart hook, a safety harness module (125), and associated electronic components that detect a safety state of a user by monitoring various parameters at the smart hook and safety harness module (125) and determining whether the user is using proper safety protocol at extreme heights and/or whether the user has experienced a height-related accident. In an illustrative example, the user may don a safety harness (115) that may include a module (125) that contains sensors that monitor an acceleration/velocity/position of the user and/or ambient air pressure around the user. The module (125) may receive wireless signals from at least one rebar hook (120a, 120b) having sensors that monitor the acceleration/velocity/position and gate position of the rebar hooks (120a, 120b). A controller included with the safety harness module (125) may use these sensors to advantageously determine the safety state of the user and generate alert/warning signals.
FALL-PROTECTION ASSEMBLY COMPRISING A SOFT, ENDLESS CONNECTOR
A fall-protection assembly comprising a lanyard and a rigid fastener that are connected to each other by a soft, endless connector that is non-removably connected to the lanyard and that is removably connected to the rigid fastener.
Fall-protection apparatus with protective shroud and with sleeve assembly
A fall-protection apparatus with a movable protective shroud and with a sleeve assembly, the sleeve assembly including an informational sheet that is compactable and extendable.
Bucket hook with tether hole
According to an embodiment the bucket hook including a body formed by a first arm, a second arm, and a bucket receiving portion extending along a first longitudinal axis which joins the first and second arms, the first and second arms each contain a first elongated portion extending from respective ends of the bucket receiving portion in the same direction and at an angle to the first longitudinal axis and defining a channel therebetween; and a hole defined by the first arm. The bucket hook is dimensioned to go over the side of a bucket on a bucket truck or elevated lift. These features allow a worker to carry more tools to a significant height in order to carry out tasks while preventing accidents.
Fall protection compliance system and method
A connector for a fall protection compliance system includes a frame having an opening and a connection area configured for receiving a connection structure therein and a connection sensor assembly associated with the frame. The connection sensor assembly includes at least one permanent magnet configured for generating a magnetic field within at least a portion of the connection area, at least one magnetometer configured for detecting a presence or an absence of a disturbance in the magnetic field, and a control device having at least one processor programmed or configured to receive connection data from the at least one magnetometer, determine a connection status of the connector based on detecting the presence or the absence of the disturbance in the magnetic field, and perform at least one action based on the connection status. A method for detecting connection of a connector to a connection structure is also disclosed.
Trunk control systems and wheelchairs comprising same
A trunk control system having a harness assembly and a flexion control assembly. The harness assembly has a backrest member and a harness secured to the backrest member. The backrest member is configured to be moveably coupled to a wheelchair. The backrest member is selectively moveable about and between a fully retracted position and a fully extended position. The harness cooperates with the backrest member to define a receiving space for receiving at least a portion of a torso of a wheelchair user. The flexion control assembly is coupled to the backrest member of the harness assembly. The flexion control assembly is configured to selectively permit or restrict movement of the backrest member about and between the fully retracted position and the fully extended position.
