Three-pass torque converter including clutch integrated with turbine
A torque converter comprises a front cover, an impeller including an impeller shell fixed to the front cover, and a turbine including a turbine shell axially movable to frictionally engage the impeller shell such that the turbine shell forms a turbine piston of a lock-up clutch. A damper assembly disposed between the front cover and the turbine shell comprises: springs; a flange connected to the turbine shell and drivingly engaged with the springs; and a spring retainer supporting the springs and connected to a turbine hub. A piston plate may be disposed between the spring retainer and front cover and configured to be axially displaceable to force the turbine piston against the impeller shell for engagement of the lock-up clutch. A seal plate may be fixed to the front cover and disposed between the front cover and the piston plate with the piston plate sealed to the seal plate.

ROTARY DEVICE AND POWER TRANSMISSION DEVICE
A rotary device is disclosed. The rotary device includes a first rotor, a centrifugal element, and a tilt preventing mechanism. The first rotor is disposed to be rotatable. The centrifugal element is supported to be axially movable with respect to the first rotor. The tilt preventing mechanism prevents the centrifugal element from tilting.

Variable pitch stator and two hydraulic passage control
A vehicle driveline component includes a torque converter including an actuator and a clutch. The actuator includes an actuator piston slidable within an actuator chamber and dividing the actuator chamber into loosening and tightening chambers. The actuator piston moves the stator blades between a plurality of pitch positions. The clutch selectively couples the turbine to the impeller. The clutch includes a spring and clutch piston. The clutch piston at least partially defines an apply chamber and a release chamber. The apply chamber is in fluid communication with the tightening chamber via a hydrodynamic chamber. The release chamber is in fluid communication with the loosening chamber. The clutch piston is movable between an engaged position which inhibits relative rotation between the housing and the turbine and a disengaged position permitting relative rotation. The clutch spring is supported by the turbine hub and biases the clutch piston toward the disengaged position.

Torque converter with internally connected studs
A torque converter includes an impeller and a cover rotationally fixed to the impeller. The cover has opposing inner and outer surfaces and a through hole extending from the inner surface to the outer surface. A stud is attached to the cover. The stud has a head and a shank extending from the head. The head defines an annular projection circumscribing the shank and raised from the head. The stud is disposed on the cover with the shank extending through the hole to project from the outer surface and with the head being connected to the cover by coalescence between the annular projection and the inner surface creating a hermetic seal around the hole.

TILGER APPARATUS FOR USE WITH ROTATING BODIES
A tilger for a rotating body includes an annular body movably coupled to a rotatable portion of the rotating body. The tilger includes a spring interposed between the first annular body and the rotatable portion. Rotation of the rotatable portion relative to the annular body is to compress and decompress the spring. The tilger includes a ring positioned on an outer surface of the annular body and configured to expand as a rotational speed of the ring increases to decrease a total inertia of the annular body and the ring applied to the spring.
