Turbine assembly and method for a thrust washer installation on a turbine of a torque converter
A turbine assembly for a torque converter is provided. The turbine assembly includes a turbine including a plurality of holes and a thrust washer connected to the turbine. The thrust washer includes a bearing ring, at least one retaining post axially protruding from the bearing ring through at least one of the holes and at least one support post axially protruding from the bearing ring through at least one of the holes. The or each retaining post includes an outwardly radially protruding clip securing the thrust washer onto the turbine. A method for forming a turbine assembly is also provided.

A turbine assembly for a torque converter is provided. The turbine assembly includes a turbine including a plurality of holes and a thrust washer connected to the turbine. The thrust washer includes a bearing ring, at least one retaining post axially protruding from the bearing ring through at least one of the holes and at least one support post axially protruding from the bearing ring through at least one of the holes. The or each retaining post includes an outwardly radially protruding clip securing the thrust washer onto the turbine. A method for forming a turbine assembly is also provided.
TORQUE CONVERTER TURBINE INCLUDING ADDED MASS
A torque converter turbine is provided. The torque converter turbine includes a plurality of blades, an annular bowl shaped blade supporting portion supporting the blades and a mass fixed to the blade supporting portion. A method of forming a torque converter turbine is also provided. The method includes providing a blade supporting portion of a turbine shell with mass and connecting a plurality of blades to the blade supporting portion.
TORQUE CONVERTER IMPELLER INCLUDING PROTRUSIONS FOR CENTERING THE STATOR
A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a stator including a body and a plurality of blades on an outer circumferential surface of the body and an impeller including an impeller shell. The impeller shell includes at least one protrusion aligned for contacting an axially extending surface of the body of the stator to center the stator on the impeller during assembly. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided. The method includes forming an impeller shell to include at least one protrusion on a stator facing surface thereof; providing a stator including a body and a plurality of blades on an outer circumferential surface of the body; and centering the stator on the impeller shell by contacting the at least one protrusion with an axially extending surface of the body.
TORQUE CONVERTER IMPELLER INCLUDING PROTRUSIONS FOR CENTERING THE STATOR
A torque converter is provided. The torque converter includes a stator including a body and a plurality of blades on an outer circumferential surface of the body and an impeller including an impeller shell. The impeller shell includes at least one protrusion aligned for contacting an axially extending surface of the body of the stator to center the stator on the impeller during assembly. A method of forming a torque converter is also provided. The method includes forming an impeller shell to include at least one protrusion on a stator facing surface thereof; providing a stator including a body and a plurality of blades on an outer circumferential surface of the body; and centering the stator on the impeller shell by contacting the at least one protrusion with an axially extending surface of the body.
Washer assembly and hydrodynamic torque converter
A washer assembly and a hydrodynamic torque converter comprising the washer assembly is provided. The washer assembly comprises a washer and a plate; the washer is annular and comprises a washer body and two or more positioning clamps protruding radially inward from an inner periphery of the washer body, at least one side of the positioning clamp in a circumferential direction having a positioning protrusion protruding; the plate is annular, an inner periphery portion of the plate being provided with two or more positioning notches; an edge of at least one side of the positioning notch in the circumferential direction being provided with a positioning groove; and the washer is mounted to one end face of the plate. The washer assembly saves the internal space of the torque converter and saves the material cost of the washer.
Washer assembly and hydrodynamic torque converter
A washer assembly and a hydrodynamic torque converter comprising the washer assembly is provided. The washer assembly comprises a washer and a plate; the washer is annular and comprises a washer body and two or more positioning clamps protruding radially inward from an inner periphery of the washer body, at least one side of the positioning clamp in a circumferential direction having a positioning protrusion protruding; the plate is annular, an inner periphery portion of the plate being provided with two or more positioning notches; an edge of at least one side of the positioning notch in the circumferential direction being provided with a positioning groove; and the washer is mounted to one end face of the plate. The washer assembly saves the internal space of the torque converter and saves the material cost of the washer.
Hybrid module
A hybrid module for a vehicle includes a torque converter and an electric motor. The torque converter includes an impeller shell and a cover. The cover is fixed to the impeller shell to form at least a portion of an outer shell for the torque converter. The electric motor includes a rotor supported on a rotor carrier. The cover and the rotor carrier are integrally formed from a same piece of material. In an example embodiment, the hybrid module includes a resolver rotor fixed to the rotor carrier. In some example embodiments, the hybrid module includes a cover disk, fixed to the rotor carrier and extending radially inward to form a portion of the outer shell.
Hybrid module
A hybrid module for a vehicle includes a torque converter and an electric motor. The torque converter includes an impeller shell and a cover. The cover is fixed to the impeller shell to form at least a portion of an outer shell for the torque converter. The electric motor includes a rotor supported on a rotor carrier. The cover and the rotor carrier are integrally formed from a same piece of material. In an example embodiment, the hybrid module includes a resolver rotor fixed to the rotor carrier. In some example embodiments, the hybrid module includes a cover disk, fixed to the rotor carrier and extending radially inward to form a portion of the outer shell.
TORQUE DAMPER APPARATUS AND TORQUE CONVERTER
A torque damper apparatus includes an input-side plate having a pair of side plates and rotatably driven in response to drive force from a motor, a center plate coupled to an output shaft and arranged between the pair of side plates, and an elastic transmission body provided between the input-side plate and the center plate to transmit rotary drive force of the input-side plate to the center plate. The input-side plate has, at a plate surface of at least one side plate, multiple weight attachment holes for attaching a balance weight. Each weight attachment hole is formed in a long hole shape extending along a circumferential direction at an outer edge portion of the side plate.
