EXTENDABLE SLEEVE FOR POURED CONCRETE DECK
20190257082 · 2019-08-22 ·

An improved cap and assembly is provided for a poured concrete deck. The improved assembly has a diaphragm seal over-molded to a top plate having a depending sidewall that is snap-fit to a base containing a fire ring. A tubular sleeve is connected to the over-molded top plate by snap fit connections to the sidewall and by threaded fasteners passing through sockets in the sleeve, sidewall and base. The over-molded diaphragm has a funnel shape. A first sleeve cap has depending positioning tabs that may be broken off to adjust the cap height relative to the sleeve, with an inwardly extending latching surface engaging the sleeve when the tabs are removed. A second cap has inwardly extending tabs that fit into channels on the sleeve fit between ridges on the sleeve when rotated to adjustably position the second cap on the sleeve.

INTUMESCENT FIRE RESISTANCE DEVICE AND BREACH IN A WALL

An intumescent fire resistance device for closing breaches in walls or ceilings, contains a plurality of planar carriers which are provided with an intumescent coating on at least one side. The carriers are secured to one another at least partially overlapping in an overlap region such that a strip or ring is produced the length of which is longer than the length of an individual carrier.

FIREPROOF COVER UTILIZING THERMAL INSULATION LAYERS
20190247685 · 2019-08-15 ·

A fireproof cover for fluid conveyance products includes an inner layer including a first polymer, an intermediate layer including a thermally insulating material, and an outer layer including a second polymer. One or more additional intermediate layers may be disposed at least partially between the inner layer and the outer layer. The intermediate layer may include fiberglass and may be disposed around the inner layer. The one or more additional intermediate layers may include (i) a first layer of basalt tape wrapped around the intermediate layer, (ii) a layer of fiberglass wrapped around the first layer of basalt tape, and (iii) a second layer of basalt tape wrapped around the layer of fiberglass. The outer layer may be disposed at an outer surface of the second layer of basalt tape.

Burn protective materials

A method is described for reducing the afterflame of a flammable, meltable material. A textile composite is described comprising an outer textile comprising a flammable, meltable material, and a heat reactive material comprising a polymer resin-expandable graphite mixture.

Self-adjusting firestopping sleeve apparatus
10363444 · 2019-07-30 · ·

A firestopping sleeve positionable usually in walls which is self-adjusting and includes a sleeve defining an access corridor extending longitudinally therewithin with at least one firestopping pad positioned therein. The sleeve has an access corridor extending therethrough for receiving wall penetrating cables which are firestopped therearound by the pad. A projecting block is attacked to the pad for providing self-adjusting and sealing capability of the device, to prevent air or smoke leaks around the cables.

Passive ductwork intumescent fire damper

A passive ductwork intumescent fire damper is disclosed having a sheet metal box; an intumescent; a sheet metal comb; a plastic liner; a sheet metal comb catch; and a sheet metal escutcheon. The fire damper is particularly useful in a structural wall ducted horizontally such as a side wall range hood installation.

FIRE STOP AND METHOD OF MAKING THE SAME
20190226609 · 2019-07-25 · ·

A fire stop device having a body having a through bore and the body being sized and shaped to be positioned within an opening in a wall, the body is made from a moldable a thermoplastic resin having a blowing agent suspended therein. The blowing agent has a predetermined gas release temperature and the thermoplastic resin has a melting temperature above the predetermined gas release temperature of the blowing agent; wherein when exposed to a fire the blowing agent first begins to release gas and the resin softens as the resin is heated until the resin is soft enough for the released gas to expand the plastic to form a foam to close said through bore before a char is formed on said expanded body by said fire. A method of forming a fitting having the blowing agent suspended therein is also provided.

SELF-SEALING MEMBRANE SLEEVE ASSEMBLY
20190219170 · 2019-07-18 ·

A sealing membrane assembly including a flange having a body with a through passage. A first sealing membrane defines a first flexible panel with a first axial sealed opening extending therethrough. The first axial sealed opening extends at an acute angle. A second sealing membrane defines a second flexible panel with a second axial sealed opening extending therethrough. The second axial sealed opening extends at an obtuse angle. The first and second sealing membranes are secured relative to the flange such that the first and second axial sealed openings crisscross one another and the first and second sealing membranes seal the through passage except through the first and second sealed openings.

Extendable sleeve for a poured concrete deck

A tubular passage for poured concrete decks has an intumescent tube held in a two-part, clamshell base by a bottom clip. A first tube engages the base's top to clamp a funnel shaped, diaphragm seal to the base. The first tube has spaced, radially extending, parallel ridges at predetermined distances from the base. Longitudinal channels separate the ridges. An extension tube has inward extending lugs passing along the channels to engage various ridges when rotated to fix the passage length. The extension engages the base bottom for corrugated deck supports. A cap with repositionable, locating filaments closes either tube.
