A segment adapted to be mounted on a shaft to form a camshaft, wherein the segment comprises a through hole adapted to receive the shaft, and wherein the shape of the hole in the segment is adapted to the cross section of the shaft in such a way that when mounted, the segment has a strain causing it to exert a radial load on the shaft in at least two contact points, wherein an inner surface of the hole has at least one deviation to create at least three contact points between the segment and the shaft, and wherein the at least three contact points are non-uniformly distributed about the circumference of the hole. Advantages include that the camshaft can be made lightweight, with less difficulties and at a lower cost as well as with increased precision in angular positioning of the segment on the shaft.

Cam assembly comprising cylindrical housing

A cam assembly having a solid cylindrical with a near end and a distal end and an opening extending from the near end through the distal end, wherein the opening is circular in configuration and has an inset, the near end is configured at a slight angle of less than about 15 from the vertical, and the opening extending from the near end through the distal end is angled through the cam assembly, the opening beginning at the near end and near a bottom edge of the solid cylinder and terminating through the distal end near a top edge of the solid cylinder.

DRIVE TRANSMISSION DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE DRIVE TRANSMISSION DEVICE

A drive transmission device, which is included in an image forming apparatus, includes a drive transmission body to which a drive force is applied from a driving source, and a rotary shaft having a press-in portion mounted on one end thereof in the axial direction. The press-in portion has multiple planes disposed parallel to an axial direction and configured to receive the drive transmission body. The multiple planes include upstream and downstream side planes disposed downstream from the upstream side plane in a press-in direction of the drive transmission body. The upstream and downstream side planes are aligned along the press-in direction of the drive transmission body and have respective distances different from each other from an axial center of the rotary shaft. A distance from the downstream side plane to the axial center is greater than a distance from the upstream side plane to the axial center.

Geared interface for valve

An actuation mechanism for a valve comprises a first member having a generally spherical surface on a first side of a bisecting line and a generally ellipsoidal surface on a second side of the bisecting line. The first member is rotatable around a central point of the bisecting line. The valve has a second member with a truncated ellipsoidal surface on both sides of a bisecting line. The second member matingly engages the first member at the first member ellipsoidal surface. The valve also includes a longitudinal member coupled to the second member and a biasing member coupled to the longitudinal member. The first member is rotated around the central point from a first position to a second position to move the second member and the longitudinal member linearly. The biasing member returns the first member and second member to the first position upon release of the first member.

Manufacturing method of sliding cam assembly and assembling method of cam shaft assembly including sliding cam and fixed cam

Disclosed is a method of manufacturing a sliding cam assembly. In particular, a requirement for wear resistance of a hollow tubular portion in which sliding takes place can be satisfied due to a cam piece being fixed to the hollow tubular portion by diffusion bonding while the sliding cam assembly repeatedly slides along a shaft, and each component can be separately machined and combined, thus minimizing an amount which is wasted at the time of machining, reducing the machining time, and rendering a separate heat treatment of a cam piece unnecessary.

A device for forming circumferential grooves in pipe elements uses multiple geared cam bodies mounted on a carriage which rotates about a fixed pinion. The gears engage with the pinion which causes the geared cam bodies to rotate relative to the carriage. Traction surfaces and cam surfaces on the cam bodies traverse the outer surface of the pipe element and impress a circumferential groove therein. Each cam surface has a region of increasing radius and may have a region of constant radius. Second cam surfaces, positioned in spaced relation axially to the first cam surfaces, may also extend around the cam bodies. The second cam surfaces have a constant radius and limit flare of the pipe element.

METHOD FOR POSITIONING A CAMSHAFT ELEMENT ON A SHAFT SEGMENT OF A CAMSHAFT

A method for positioning a cam element on a shaft segment of a camshaft with an assembly aid element may comprise arranging the shaft segment relative to a first tool such that a first distal shaft segment end of the shaft segment lies flush against a surface of the tool that is directed towards the shaft segment; arranging the cam element on the shaft segment in a pre-position; arranging a first distal end of the assembly aid element to contact the surface of the first tool that is directed towards the shaft segment such that the assembly aid element forms a defined distance to the first tool along a shaft-segment longitudinal axis; and moving a second tool at least in sections along the longitudinal axis until the second tool contacts a second distal end of the assembly aid element, and pushing the cam element by means of the second tool to a final position.

CAM SHAFT FOR ENGINE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

This exhaust cam shaft (2) is provided with a shaft part (5) and cam parts (6 to 13) provided on the outer circumference of the shaft part (5). The shaft part (5) has holes (16, 17, 19) opened at predetermined positions on the outer circumferential surface of the shaft part (5).
