This vehicle control device 10 is provided with: a current gear stage selection unit 13 which selects a current gear stage, which is the gear stage of the vehicle in the present travel state; a travel segment determination unit 15 which determines the next travel segment forwards in the direction of travel of the vehicle V; and a shift control unit 17 which, in the case that the current gear stage selection unit 13 has newly selected a target gear stage lower than the current gear stage during travel of the vehicle V in the current gear stage in the current travel segment, if the next travel segment can be traveled in the current gear stage and the amount the vehicle V will lose speed after traveling the current travel segment is less than or equal to a prescribed threshold value, controls shifting of the gear stage such that downshifting from the current gear stage to the target gear stage is suppressed and the current gear stage is maintained. Even in a state in which downshifting is suppressed, if the state of the vehicle the satisfies a prescribed condition, then the shift control unit 17 controls shifting of the gear stage so as to downshift to the target gear stage without suppression of downshifting.
Power transmission control device
An object is to reduce a delay in response. An automatic gear changing control device includes a sleeve which is moved by an actuator to perform an engagement operation, an engine which is connected to an input shaft, and a control unit which controls the movement of the sleeve by the actuator and controls the rotation of the input shaft by the engine or a motor generator. The control unit performs synchronization control of controlling the rotation of the input shaft for the engagement operation at a different gear stage after the engagement is released and starts shift control of moving the sleeve to an engagement completion position by the actuator before at least the synchronization is completed.

A method for determining a state of a transmission for a vehicle, including providing an input for a first generative model depending on a route information, a vehicle speed, a probabilistic variable, and an output of a second physical model, and determining an output of the first model characterizing the state in response to the input for the first model. The first model comprises a first layer trained to map input to an intermediate state. The first model comprises a second layer trained to map the intermediate state to the state depending on the output of the second model. The method includes providing an input for the second physical model depending on at least one vehicle state and/or the route information, and determining an output of the second model in response to the input for the second model. The output of the second model characterizes limit(s) for the intermediate state.
CONTROL METHOD FOR ACCELERATION OF CVT
A CVT acceleration control method applied to a CVT-mounted vehicle including an accelerator position sensor, a vehicle speed sensor, a driving pulley rotation sensor and a driven pulley rotation sensor that is configured to detect a rotation speed of a driven pulley and to output a corresponding signal, a CVT operation portion and a controller, the CVT acceleration control method, may include determining, by the controller, whether a current vehicle driving state satisfies a predetermined starting control condition, monitoring, by the controller, a current driving pulley rotation speed change, determining, by the controller, whether the current vehicle driving state satisfies a predetermined trigger condition, setting, by the controller, a target driving pulley rotation speed change, and controlling, by the controller, the operation of the CVT operation portion such that the current driving pulley rotation speed change converges to the target driving pulley rotation speed change.
Transmission control systems to adjust clutch pressure and torque based on grade
Transmissions, control systems for transmissions, and methods of operating transmissions are disclosed herein. A transmission includes an input shaft, an output shaft, one or more clutches, and a control system. The input shaft is configured to receive rotational power supplied by a drive unit. The output shaft is coupled to the input shaft and configured to provide rotational power supplied to the input shaft to a load. The one or more clutches are coupled between the input shaft and the output shaft to selectively transmit rotational power between the input shaft and the output shaft in one or more operating modes of the transmission. Each of the one or more clutches is selectively engageable in response to one or more fluid pressures applied thereto. The control system is configured to control operation of the one or more clutches to select the one or more operating modes of the transmission.

The control apparatus includes an obtaining portion for obtaining information related to converged values of learning values of control parameters in a plurality of vehicles provided with respective control-subject components which are the same in type as the control-subject component provided in the vehicle, and a variation determination portion for determining whether a degree of variation among the converged values in the respective vehicles is smaller than a threshold value. The vehicle control apparatus causes the learning value to be converged by a smaller number of times of execution of the learning operation when the degree of the variation is smaller than the threshold value, than when the degree of the variation is not smaller than the threshold value.
System and Method for Increasing Upshift Engine Torque
A drive train control method includes transmitting a total time period of a stroke phase and a torque phase of an upshift from a transmission control unit of an automatic transmission to an engine control unit of an engine. The method also includes closing a first shift element of the automatic transmission and opening a second shift element of the automatic transmission during the upshift. A control pressure of the first shift element increases during the torque phase relative to the control pressure of the first shift element at an end of the stroke phase. A control pressure of the second shift element decreases during the torque phase relative to the control pressure of the second shift element at the end of the stroke phase. The method further includes, based at least in part on the total time period of the stroke and torque phases, increasing an actual torque of the engine during the upshift such that the actual torque of the engine increases to a higher gear torque prior to an end of the torque phase.
METHOD TO CONTROL A ROAD VEHICLE WITH A MICROSLIP OF THE CLUTCH
A method to control a road vehicle provided with a clutch, which connects an internal combustion engine to drive wheels and is arranged upstream of a servo-assisted transmission; the control method comprises the steps of: checking whether the tyres of the drive wheels are close to a grip limit; and opening the clutch so that the clutch transmits a torque to the drive wheels with a slip of the clutch that is constant and other than zero when the tyres of the drive wheels are close to the grip limit.

A vehicle failure-factor specifying apparatus includes (a) a peculiarity-presence determining portion configured to determine, based on a pre-failure driving state in a stage prior to occurrence of a certain failure in a vehicle, whether a peculiarity was present or absent in the pre-failure driving state, and (b) a failure-causing-driving state specifying portion configured, when the peculiarity was present in the pre-failure driving state, to determine whether the peculiarity present in the pre-failure driving state of the vehicle is substantially identical with a peculiarity in the pre-failure driving state of other vehicles. The peculiarity-presence determining portion determines whether the peculiarity was present or absent in the pre-failure driving state of the vehicle, depending on whether a frequency distribution of the pre-failure driving state of the vehicle is deviated from a frequency distribution of a non-failure driving state of a plurality of vehicles including the other vehicles in a non-failure case.
