Shift device

In a shift device, when a switch is operated, a moving portion, a first lock plate, a second lock plate and a third lock plate are moved toward a vehicle front side, and placement of the first lock plate, the second lock plate and the third lock plate at a return path is cancelled. Therefore, if the switch is operated when a lever is placed at other than a P position, due to a guide pin being moved along the return path toward an upper side by urging force of a return spring, the guide pin is returned to a vehicle front side end of a first lateral path, and the lever is returned to the P position. Due thereto, the lever can easily return to the P position from other than the P position.

In a shift device, when a first rotor cam is rotated in a reverse direction, recessed portions in the first rotor cam are engaged with protruding portions on a second rotor cam, and after a lever is moved rotationally, an engagement between the recessed portions and the protruding portions is released. So, when the first rotor cam is rotated in the reverse direction, not only can the recessed portions and the protruding portions be engaged with each other, but also the engagement between the recessed portions and the protruding portions can also be released.

In at least some implementations, a vehicle shift lever assembly includes a shift lever movable about a first pivot axis within a first shift path having multiple shift positions, and movable about a second pivot axis to a second shift path having at least one shift position, and the second pivot axis is not parallel to the first pivot axis, and a sensor element coupled to the shift lever for movement with the shift lever. The sensor element is oriented in a different position when the shift lever is in each of the shift positions in the first shift path and each of the shift positions of the second shift path.

ANTI-THEFT DEVICE FOR VEHICLE

BRAKE TRANSMISSION SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEMS AND CONTROL LOGIC FOR MOTOR VEHICLE POWERTRAINS

Presented are Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) systems for vehicle powertrains, methods for making/operating such BTSI systems, and vehicles equipped with a BTSI system. A BTSI system for a motor vehicle includes a shifter solenoid with a solenoid body that mounts to the vehicle body, and a solenoid armature that is movably attached to the solenoid body to transition back-and-forth between locked and unlocked positions. The shifter solenoid is selectively operable via a brake control module to move the solenoid armature between the locked and unlocked positions to thereby block and unblock movement of a gear shifter from the park position, respectively. A position switch mounts to the vehicle body adjacent the shifter solenoid and detects the vehicle transmission being in a park mode. The position switch selectively mechanically engages with the shifter solenoid such that the solenoid armature, upon moving to the locked position, pushes closed the position switch.
