Gear seeking polystable shifter

A gear seeking shifter having a housing containing a shift lever with a depressible inner push rod. A CAM component is rotatably supported to a base of the shift lever and is driven by a gear seeking motor. An upwardly biased gate pawl is secured to the inner push rod into contact with any of a PRND shifter position gates configured along an opposing underside of said housing. At least one detent pawl is supported within the housing in biasing contact with a detent plate configured upon an opposing inside surface of the housing. The CAM component, upon being rotated by the motor, includes each of a first profile for retracting the gate pawl and a second profile for engaging and inwardly displacing the detent pawl away from contact with the detent plate to permit the CAM component to rotate the shift lever to a desired gear position.

Shift control apparatus of manual transmission

A shift control apparatus of a manual transmission is disclosed. To change the gear, the shift control apparatus of a manual transmission according to the embodiment of the present invention includes: a shift lever which is movable in a shift direction and in a select direction; a select lock unit which includes a shaft for limiting the select directional movement of the shift lever; and a controller which controls the select lock unit to limit the select directional movement of the shift lever on the basis of a speed of a vehicle. As a result, a driver can safely shift the gear by preventing unintended shifting to R gear and sense the state of a select lock. Also, the select lock unit is implemented by one solenoid, so that it is possible to reduce the cost thereof, to prevent the overheating of the solenoid, and thus, to extend the life span.

Electronic shift system for an automated manual transmission

An electronic shift system for an automated manual transmission includes a shift lever moveable between at least a neutral position and a first gear position, a clutch pedal, a biasing member connected to the shift lever that biases the shift lever to the neutral position, and a grip system configured to selectively immobilize the shift lever in the first gear position when the clutch pedal is released. An electrical circuit communicates a position of the shift lever to a control module. The control module commands the automated manual transmission to achieve the gear ratio (forward or reverse) corresponding to the first gear position when the shift lever is in the first gear position.
