Universal protection system
A fire-protection system comprising two elements is disclosed: 1) A retractable fire-protection covering or mat that may be automatically deployed over a building and stowed after the threat has passed; and, 2) A water fire spray system for wetting the lower aspects of a building to protect the lower and uncovered aspects of a building from fire. Using these systems simultaneously allows the user to mitigate forest and brush fire threats that may periodically threaten a building.

FIRE EXTINGUISHING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS
Herein disclosed is a fire extinguishing system and a fire extinguishing method for electronic components. The fire extinguishing system comprises a fire extinguishing device, a control device, and a crane device. The fire extinguishing device comprises a camera module and a frame. The camera module captures a scene image related to a storage location in a machine. The frame has a fire tank for receiving an electronic component in the storage location. The control device receives the scene image and selectively sends a fetch instruction according to a status of the storage location. The crane device fetches the electronic component from the storage location to the fire tank according to the fetch instruction. Wherein the frame is fireproof.
NON-DESTRUCTIVE BATTERY FIRE SUPPRESSION
Provided herein are methods and systems for preventing and/or suppressing fire in a rechargeable battery.
GENERATOR ENCLOSURE WITH FIRE DAMPER
A generator enclosure for an engine-generator includes multiple walls defining at least one air path. In one example, a first wall includes an exhaust path for the engine-generator, and a second wall includes an intake path for the engine-generator. The generator enclosure may include at least one air flow frame associated with the exhaust path or the intake path and at least one movable wall supported by the at least one air flow frame, At least one thermal fuse may be coupled to the at least one movable wall and configured to release the at least one movable wall to block the exhaust path or the intake path.
Object handling system and method
A system, comprising: a storage workspace including a first framework defined by a series of first uprights, the first uprights supporting a grid of two substantially perpendicular sets of rails; and a plurality of containers for storing objects, wherein the plurality of containers are arranged in stacks, each stack of containers is located underneath a grid space in the workspace; and a grid extension including a continuation of the two substantially perpendicular sets of rails, and wherein the plurality of containers can be moved by one or more load handling devices between the storage workspace and an area beneath the grid extension, wherein the area beneath the grid extension is configured for positioning a roll cage such that containers can be placed or removed from the roll cage.
Active stairwell compensation systems and methods
An active stairwell compensation system includes air injection points at different elevations in a stairwell; a fan for providing airflow to the air injection points; sensors; air injection dampers; and a controller in data communication with the fan, the sensors, and the air injection dampers. At least some of the sensors are located inside the stairwell, and at least some of the sensors are located outside the stairwell. A respective air injection damper is located between each air injection point and the fan. The controller has programming to utilize data from the sensors to adjust an amount of air provided by the fan and independently adjust the air injection dampers to maintain a desirable amount of air pressure at the air injection points. The desirable amount of air pressure is selected to prevent smoke from entering the stairwell while allowing stairwell doors to open for egress.
MULTI LAYER FIRE CURTAIN
A multi-layer rolling fire curtain assembly includes: a rotatable curtain roller positionable about a structure opening; a multi-layer fire curtain wrappable about the curtain roller and to be deployable from the curtain roller between an extended position and an open position, the fire curtain having a first end fixed to the curtain roller, and a free end, the free end being movable between a retracted position and an extended position. The fire curtain has: a fire resistant inner curtain layer arranged closer to the curtain roller, and a fire resistant outer curtain layer arranged opposite the inner layer. The inner and outer layers are affixed to one another by horizontally oriented connection seams, to connect the inner and outer layers to each other, the connection seams being configured so that the outer and inner layers are spaced apart by a plurality of baggy areas formed between adjacent connection seams.

Blocking Apparatus for a Fire Damper, Blocking Apparatus System and Method for Blocking a Drive Direction
Various embodiments include a blocking apparatus comprising: a holding apparatus; a receiving element mounted in the holding apparatus about an axis of rotation, defining a through-opening with a through-axis parallel to the axis of rotation; a wrap spring mechanically prestressed in the holding apparatus, with a winding arranged around the receiving element; and a thermocouple made of a material having a lower melting temperature than the holding apparatus and/or the wrap spring. The thermocouple holds at least one end of the wrap spring with respect to the holding apparatus in the prestressed state in such a way that the receiving element can be freely rotated in both drive directions about the axis of rotation. The receiving element is blocked in one of the two drive directions in the relaxed state of the wrap spring and in the triggered state of a thermal fuse.
