Self-shifting bicycle that shifts as a function of power output
10941857 · 2021-03-09 ·

A self-shifting bicycle that shifts intelligently as a function of power output. The bicycle uses a computer control system mounted to the handlebar, a power meter attached to the front gearwheel, and an actuator module for adjusting the transmission. The computer control system software changes output gear ratio in accordance with load encountered as the cyclist rides. This allows the rider to set a preferred power output and to maintain that preferred power output very closely.

SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR AUTOMATIC CONFIGURATION AND AUTOMATIC CALIBRATION OF CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSIONS AND BICYCLES HAVING CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSIONS

A continuously variable transmission on a bicycle may be automatically configured with little or no assistance from a user. Optical scanning devices, RFIDs, and other information capturing technology can communicate with a controller. The controller may then perform a portion or all of a configuration process. In operation, a controller may determine that calibration is needed. A calibration process may be initiated and performed with little or no user interaction. A calibration process may account for a load, a power source, or an environment.

CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION CONTROL DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD

A continuously variable transmission has a variator (4) structured to be able to continuously vary a transmission ratio and a control unit (100). The control unit (100) continuously varies a transmission ratio of the variator (4) in a continuously variable shift mode. In a manual mode in which a manual mode switch (36c) is ON, the transmission ratio is maintained. When a shift switch (36a, 36b) is operated by a driver during the manual mode, the control unit (100) performs shift of the variator (4) so as to change an input rotation speed of the variator (4) by a predetermined rotation speed (N1) regardless of a vehicle speed.

Device for driving a generator of an aircraft turbomachine and method for regulating the speed of such a generator
11859558 · 2024-01-02 · ·

A device for driving an integrated generator from an accessories relay box of a turbomachine. The device includes first and second electric motors arranged to transfer electric power from one to the other, one or more controllers configured for controlling said electric motors, and an epicyclic reduction gear train. The gear train includes a first element intended to be coupled to the accessories relay box, a second element intended to be coupled to the generator, and a third element driven to rotate by said first electric motor. The control means are configured to modify the speed of rotation of the third element in such a way that the second element is driven to rotate at a constant speed.

Shift control device

A shift control device includes: a stepless shift controller executing a stepless shift mode and controlling a transmission gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission in a stepless fashion; a stepped shift controller executing a stepped shift mode and controlling the continuously variable transmission using fixed transmission gear ratios; a mode setting unit switching the shift mode to the stepped shift mode when a vehicle is to be accelerated; and a transmission-gear-ratio setting unit setting an initial transmission gear ratio in the stepped shift mode when the shift mode is to be switched to the stepped shift mode. The transmission-gear-ratio setting unit estimates a variation in an engine rotation speed when the shift mode is to be switched to the stepped shift mode, and sets a fixed transmission gear ratio, at which the variation is greater than or equal to a lower limit value, as the initial transmission gear ratio.
