FIRE-SUPPRESSION SYSTEM AND METHOD
A fire-suppression system configured to provide protection of a roof surface of a building using water or other fire-extinguishing agent. A set of roof-mounted sprinklers disperse water or other fire-extinguishing agent on the roof surface. The system automatically drains the fire-extinguishing agent from the system when the system deactivates. A pre-assembled roof-flashing assembly is also disclosed.
AUTOMATED WILDFIRE PREVENTION AND PROTECTION SYSTEM FOR DWELLINGS, BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND PROPERTY
A fire retardant delivery system for use with a source of carrier for protection from wildfire is provided. The system includes a retardant tank for storing a fire retardant. The retardant tank is in fluid communication with the source of carrier. A metering valve is constructed and arranged to meter a flow of fire retardant injected into the carrier discharged from the source of carrier to maintain a predetermined proportion of fire retardant to carrier, thereby creating a fire retardant and carrier mixture. At least one distribution nozzle is configured to deliver the fire retardant and carrier mixture to a desired area.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DEPLOYING A TEMPORARY SPRINKLER ON A ROOF TOP
The present application discloses a ground-deployable, rooftop-situated wildfire defence sprinkler system, which may be safely and quickly installed onto peaks of the roof by one or two people working from the ground, and which may also be safely and quickly removed from the roof once the equipment is no longer required; the sprinkler comprising a clam shell frame having an upper surface and a lower surface, at least one front skid pivotally coupled at a pivotal coupling to at least one rear skid so that the front and rear skids rotate relative to one another about an axis of rotation at the pivotal coupling, a translation means mounted to the frame, at least one connection point mounted to the frame and positioned adjacent the axis of rotation, a sprinkler mast mounted to the frame and adapted to extend upwardly therefrom and adapted for mounting a sprinkler head thereon.
Automated Spray Assembly
An automated spray assembly for fire suppression includes a controller, a power module, a pump, a tank, a plurality of emitters and a plurality of sensors. The power module, the pump, the emitters and the sensors are operationally coupled to the controller. The tank, which is configured to store a fire suppressing liquid, and the emitters are fluidically coupled to the pump. The emitters are configured to spray the fire suppressing liquid on an exterior of a structure. The sensors are positioned proximate to the structure. The sensors are configured to detect a fire proximate to the structure and to signal the controller to motivate the pump to compel the fire suppressing liquid through the emitters to the exterior of the structure.
Fire barrier, a method for installing the same, an expansion joint system and a fire barrier assembly
The presently claimed invention relates to a fire barrier, a method for installing the same, an expansion joint system and a fire barrier assembly.
ATTIC VENT FIRE PROTECTION SYSTEM
A system that deploys attic vent covers when there is the immediate threat of fire, as well as methods and device relating thereto, is disclosed. This system includes varied cover types and deployment methods to utilize with a range of attic vents found suitable for use in residential and commercial construction.
Materials and methods for modifying Wolbachia and paratransformation of arthropods
The present disclosure is directed to materials and method for genetically modifying Wolbachia, as well as arthropods comprising the modified Wolbachia.
Fire protection curtain
A fire protection curtain having a curtain panel that includes an outer wall and a chimney defining an inlet disposed on a first side of the chimney and an outlet on another side of the chimney. The chimney is in heat conductive association with the outer wall such that heat from a source outside the outer wall is transmitted to the chimney. Such heat transmission can cause the chimney to draw air into the inlet and expel the air out the outlet by chimney effect. The curtain is flexible and sufficiently large for covering at least a portion of a structure to protect the structure from an external fire.
WILDFIRE DEFENSE SYSTEM TRAILER FOR PROTECTING A WOOD-BUILDING JOB-SITE FROM WILDFIRE DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF A WOOD-BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT LOCATED WITHIN A WILDFIRE URBAN INTERFACE (WUI) REGION
A wildfire defense system trailer for protecting a wood-building job-site from wildfire during the construction phase of a wood-building construction project located within a wildfire urban interface (WUI) region. The wildfire defense system trailer includes: a trailer framework provided with wheels; an adjustable stand mechanism adapted for coupling to a hitch mounted on the rear frame of a truck or tractor provided with an engine and drive train for pulling the trailer to its wood-building construction job-site destination(s); a cabin enclosure mounted on the trailer having a rear hinged door/loading ramp for loading and unloading equipment and supplies stored inside the cabin, and a sheltered interior volume for storing diverse kinds of equipment, and supplies of environmentally-clean water-based liquid wildfire inhibitor that is used for performing different functions, namely: (i) spraying on wood building materials to provide Class-fire protection to wood buildings as they are constructed on the on the wood building construction job-site; (ii) spraying on active fire outbreaks on the wood building construction job-site to extinguish the fire outbreaks; and (iii) spraying over the job-site construction area and wood building(s) being constructed thereon, prior to the occurrence of a wildfire outbreak, to inhibit fire ignition and flame spread. The spray application of said environmentally-clean water-based liquid wildfire inhibitor reduces and/or mitigates damage and/or destruction of property by wildfire.
MOBILE WILDFIRE DEFENSE SYSTEM TRAILER FOR DEPLOYMENT AND USE ON A WOOD-BUILDING JOB-SITE FROM WILDFIRE DURING THE CONSTRUCTION PHASE OF A WOOD-BUILDING CONSTRUCTION PROJECT LOCATED WITHIN A WILDFIRE URBAN INTERFACE (WUI) REGION
A mobile wildfire defense system trailer for deployment and use on a wood-building job-site from wildfire during the construction phase of a wood-building construction project located within a wildfire urban interface (WUI) region. The mobile wildfire defense system trailer includes: a trailer framework provided with wheels, an adjustable stand mechanism adapted for coupling to a hitch mounted on the rear frame of a truck or tractor provided with an engine and drive train for pulling the trailer to its home construction job-site destination(s), a cabin enclosure mounted on the trailer having a rear hinged door/loading ramp for loading and unloading equipment and supplies stored inside the cabin, and a sheltered interior volume for storing the components. The mobile job-site wildfire defense system trailer supports a number of subsystems within its envelope, namely: (i) a portable backpack fire inhibitor spray-atomizing system, each filled with a quantity of environmentally-clean liquid fire inhibitor supplied from supply tank; (ii) a portable air-less liquid fire inhibitor spraying system with a spray nozzle, electric powered air-less pump/spraying unit, a siphon bar for insertion within a bucket containing liquid fire inhibitor for spraying, and a flexible hose, for spraying environmentally-clean liquid fire inhibitor; (iii) a palate of pails, each pail containing environmentally-clean liquid fire inhibitor for use in spraying on wood material on a home construction job-site and providing Class A fire protection to wood material present therein; (iv) trailer-mounted automated sprinkler-based job-site wildfire defense spraying system for use during the construction phase of a home building project, triggered by an automated AI-based smoke and/or wildfire ember detection system/network deployed within a WUI region; (v) portable trailer-mounted fire extinguishing system for use in extinguishing job-site construction fires using a supply tank containing environmentally-clean liquid fire inhibitor; and (vi) kit and components for installing an automated sprinkler-based wildfire defense system, integrated in and on the constructed home and surrounding property, and deployed and commissioned only after the construction phase of the home building project has been completed.
