TUNNEL RELIEF DEVICE
A tunnel relief device includes an arcuate frame member, at least two fire-extinguishing arms, and a transport assembly. The arcuate frame member traverses along a length of the tunnel via first guide rails positioned on an inner surface of the tunnel. The fire-extinguishing arms are positioned on an inner surface of the arcuate frame member and traverse along the inner surface of the arcuate frame member via second guide rails to extinguish fire induced in the tunnel. The transport assembly comprises extendable arms and housed in an upper region of the arcuate frame member. The extendable arms are movable in a horizontal or vertical direction. The transport assembly is rotatably engaged to the upper region of the arcuate frame member to transport the vehicles in the tunnel from a first position to a second position to ensure safe and unobstructed movement of the vehicles in the tunnel.

Fire extinguishing equipment
A fire-extinguishing equipment includes: a fire-extinguishing apparatus which transmits electromagnetic waves in a predetermined output direction and discharges an extinguishing agent; an electromagnetic wave-receiver which is provided in an fire extinguishing object and receives the electromagnetic waves; and a controller which controls the fire-extinguishing apparatus to start to discharge the extinguishing agent when the output direction is set to a direction of the fire extinguishing object and the electromagnetic wave-receiver receives the electromagnetic waves.
Tunnel fire protection system
A deluge fire protection system for tunnels having vehicle traffic including a main water supply pipe and a horizontal spray nozzle arrangement. The horizontal spray nozzle arrangement includes a nozzle device having an inlet portion defining an internal diameter and an external nominal diameter. The horizontal spray arrangement includes a coupling arrangement between the main water supply and the nozzle device. The coupling arrangement defines a multi-direction flow path between the main water supply and the nozzle device. The multi-direction flow path has an effective length of at least eight times a diameter of the inlet portion, and a cross-sectional area along the effective length greater than the cross-sectional area defined by a diameter of the inlet portion of the body of the nozzle device. The coupling arrangement provides for water delivery to the nozzle device at a working pressure ranging from about 10 psi. to about 30 psi.
Method and system for tunnel ventilation in normal conditions and in conditions of fire
A tunnel ventilation system located in an upper section of a tunnel has a ventilation section divided into two or three ventilation ducts. One or more of the ducts are connected to reversible fan units so the ducts can serve as either an air infeed or an air exhaust system. The ducts contain a series of remotely controlled flaps which can be opened to ventilate different tunnel zones or closed to isolate other parts of the tunnel. Air blowers at tunnel entrances create an air screen that prevents unintended air circulation into the tunnel. Heat, smoke and other sensors and a software control system enable the system to detect smoke and fire, then to isolate and control ventilation in the fire zone. A fire suppression system using low oxygen air or other fire suppression fluids to blanket and smother the fire operates in conjunction with the ventilation system.

System for Filtering the Fresh Air Flowing in a Tunnel and/or the Exhaust Gases Flowing out Therefrom
A system for the treatment of exhaust gases flowing in and/or flowing out from a tunnel (T) overlying a roadway (R) through a ventilation duct (TV). The system comprises: filtering means (20) to filter the exhaust gases passing through the ventilation duct (TV); fan means (V) to force the evacuation of exhaust gases from the tunnel (T) towards the outer environment or the inflow of the exhaust gases from the outer environment into the tunnel (T) through the ventilation duct (TV); detecting means (10) of at least one parameter of the exhaust gases; control means (30) to activate the filtering means (20) in response to the detection by the first (10) of the exceeding of a predetermined threshold value of the at least one parameter. The filtering means (20) comprise at least one filtering unit (20, 20, 20) that includes: at least one water reservoir (21); pumping means which include at least one high pressure pump (22); a plurality of high pressure nozzles (24) to spray atomized water into drops having an average diameter lower than 500 m, preferably lower than 250 m, and at a minimum working pressure of 150 bar, preferably at a minimum working pressure of 200 bar; a line of fluid connection (25) of said at least one water reservoir (21) with said high pressure nozzles (24) passing through said pumping means (22).
