FireFighter1
20230293922 · 2023-09-21 ·

A fire defense system designed to provide quick access to pool water during a fire emergency. System is lightweight, compact, simple to use, cost effective & designed to stay readily available so a user can extract pool water to combat fire or create defensible space. In its preferred embodiment, FireFighter1 consists of a fire hose with spray nozzle on one end and male adapter on other, female mating adapter for pool pump, a water diverter, and is housed for easy release. FireFighter1 connects to 3-way diverter installed on the pool pump with mating adapter. In the event of a fire emergency, FireFighter1 hose is connected to the female adapter; 3-way diverter is positioned on; pool skimmer line is plugged; pool pump is turned on; the accordion folds expand releasing hose and user aims nozzle to spray pool water to protect assets, to fight fire, and/or to create defensible space.

DEVICE FOR DISCHARGING EXTINGUISHING AGENT

An extinguishing-agent discharge device includes a casing having a guide channel for an extinguishing agent, a metallic handle, a hose connection, an adjustment means for regulating an extinguishing-agent supply using a manual control unit and a discharge nozzle. A measuring-current transformer generates a current signal proportional to the electric current flowing in the extinguishing agent; an insulator section divides the casing into a discharge area having the discharge nozzle and an inlet area having the manual control unit, the measuring-current transformer disposed in the insulator section; a first electrode disposed in the discharge area in the extinguishing-agent flow and serves for detecting an extinguishing-agent potential; a second electrode disposed at the handle for detecting a ground potential in the inlet area; and a controller for evaluating the current signal for a potential difference occurring between the extinguishing-agent and ground and having a drive element acting on the adjustment means.

LIQUID CONCENTRATE FIRE RETARDANT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING MIXTURES OF AMMONIUM PHOSPHATES
20230321473 · 2023-10-12 ·

Described herein are liquid fire retardant concentrate compositions comprising mixtures of ammonium phosphate fire retardants. Specifically, liquid fire retardant concentrate compositions comprising one or more of monoammonium phosphate (MAP), diammonium phosphate (DAP), and ammonium polyphosphate (APP) are described herein. The ammonium phosphate fire retardant(s) is typically suspended and/or dissolved in a liquid, typically with the fire retardant(s) incorporated into the composition in powder, or granular form. In certain aspects of the present invention, the compositions provided may exhibit one or more advantages as compared to current liquid concentrate fire retardants, including enhanced strength (i.e., a higher proportion of fire retardant component per unit volume), reduced toxicity, and/or reduced corrosion.

High-efficiency smooth bore nozzles
11779938 · 2023-10-10 · ·

A high efficiency nozzle is designed. The nozzle allows water streams with long-range and high surface area in one system. Suitable transitions in the fluid pathways allow creating water streams that have a robust flow profile. The system allows minimum energy loss whilst maximizing the velocity and surface area. Such nozzles can be used for a variety of applications including but not limited to fire suppression, pressure washing, watering, and other such applications.

IN GROUND PROTECTION FOR A CYLINDRICAL SPRAY NOZZLE

A cradle type structure is used to protect a cylindrical spray nozzle device from being crushed when both are buried in a trench in the ground. The cradle can be a three sided sheet of stainless steel that is open at the top. Brackets can connect the sides together for enhanced resistance to deformation. The top of the structure has a stainless steel lid that is hinged to the top of one of the sides. The lid protects the spray nozzle, but when the nozzle is spraying, the force of the water will push the lid up and out of the way of the spray.
