AUXILIARY FIRE DEFENSE SYSTEM
Aspects of the disclosure include providing additional sources of water, and additional means for delivering the additional water, as needed in a fire emergency. A system in accordance with an aspect of the present disclosure provides pumping means, conduit for delivering water from a local source to the pump, and conduit for delivering the water as needed to fight a fire.
Method for suppressing and extinguishing a coal seam fire
A method for the suppression of coal seam fires provides for the location and determination of the boundaries of a coal seam fire, directing access to the coal seam, preparation of the coal seam prior to suppression and the suppression of the fire within the coal seam using a foam mixture, the method providing minimal impact and disruption to the surface above the coal seam fire.
FIRE CONTROL SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates broadly to a fire control system generally comprising a capture device arranged to capture heat associated with a fire and its by-products, a heat exchanger associated with the capture device for conversion of a working fluid to an expanded working fluid, and a delivery device operatively coupled to the heat exchanger configured to deliver the expanded working fluid to the fire for control of the fire. The fire control system may also be configured so as to draw by-products of the fire into a nozzle, or entrain oxygen through the nozzle, for acceleration through the nozzle and toward the fire.
LIQUID CONCENTRATE FIRE RETARDANT COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING MIXTURES OF AMMONIUM PHOSPHATES
Described herein are liquid fire retardant concentrate compositions comprising mixtures of ammonium phosphate fire retardants. Specifically, liquid fire retardant concentrate compositions comprising one or more of monoammonium phosphate (MAP), diammonium phosphate (DAP), and ammonium polyphosphate (APP) are described herein. The ammonium phosphate fire retardant(s) is typically suspended and/or dissolved in a liquid, typically with the fire retardant(s) incorporated into the composition in powder, or granular form. In certain aspects of the present invention, the compositions provided may exhibit one or more advantages as compared to current liquid concentrate fire retardants, including enhanced strength (i.e., a higher proportion of fire retardant component per unit volume), reduced toxicity, and/or reduced corrosion.
Emergency station and method of use
An integrated, portable, battery-powered, variable-pressure electric liquid pump and power emergency station a chassis; an electrically powered, variable-pressure liquid pump carried by the chassis; one or more rechargeable batteries powering the variable-pressure liquid pump to transfer liquid at variable pressures; one or more AC outlets carried by the chassis and powered by the one or more rechargeable batteries to provide emergency back-up power during power outage; wherein the emergency station includes at least one hardware processor; and one or more software modules that, when executed by the at least one hardware processor, initiates at least one of wireless signaling and wire-based signaling to user-determined outboard equipment to activate user pre-selected functions.
Wildfire suppression assembly
A wildfire suppression assembly for inhibiting the development of wildfires includes a tower that is located in a remote location and an arm that is pivotally coupled to the tower. A pump is integrated into the tower and the pump is fluidly coupled to a supply pipe to receive water from a below ground water supply. A spray pipe is coupled to the arm and the spray pipe is in fluid communication with the supply pipe to receive the water urged by the pump when the pump is turned on. A spray nozzle is fluidly coupled to the spray pipe to spray the water onto the remote location. In this way the spray nozzle inhibits the development of wildfires by keeping the moisture content of the remote location above a wildfire threshold.
Method of fire protection for storage occupancies utilizing a plurality of pendent control mode specific application extended coverage fire protection sprinklers
A fire protection method includes providing a plurality of pendent control mode specific application extended coverage fire protection sprinklers as components of a fire protection sprinkler system for a storage area defined by a storage height of at least 25 feet and a building height of at least 30 feet. Each sprinkler has a thermally responsive element, a deflector, and a K-factor of at least 25.2 gpm/(psi).sup.1/2, and is connected to a piping network at a height greater than the storage height. When each sprinkler is activated, a fluid is supplied to the sprinkler from the piping network at a pressure of at least 30 pounds per square inch, and is delivered to a coverage area of greater than 110 and up to and including 196 square feet per sprinkler. A design operating area of the sprinkler system is up to six sprinklers or 1200 square feet.
Fluid delivery system and method of use
Systems and methods of dispensing fluids such as fire suppressant include a fire suppressant delivery system having at least one fire suppressant delivery apparatus. The fire suppressant delivery apparatus includes a tower member, at least one dispensing mechanism mounted to the tower member and operable to adjust at least one of a dispensing angle relative to a horizontal plane and a dispensing angle circumferentially about the tower member, at least one fire monitoring device mounted to the tower member and operable to detect fire, and a flow regulator automatically operable to control flow of a fire suppressant to the at least one dispensing mechanism in response to fire detected by the at least one fire monitoring device.
