Piston seal assembly guards and inserts for seal groove
11453090 · 2022-09-27 · ·

A method of repairing a piston seal assembly comprises removing worn material from a piston seal groove to generate a worked seal groove, applying a groove buildup member to the worked seal groove, and disposing a seal member proximate the groove buildup member.

SEALING ELEMENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A SEALING ELEMENT

In order to provide a sealing element which ensures a reliable seal and which can be produced easily and economically, it is proposed that a main body of the sealing element is formed from a partially fluorinated or fully fluorinated thermoplastic material which is injection-moldable.

PISTON SEALING RING ASSEMBLY HAVING A GAP COVER ELEMENT
20210388901 · 2021-12-16 ·

The present disclosure provides a sealing ring assembly having a ring and one or more gap cover elements, configured to seal a high-pressure region from a lower pressure region of a piston and cylinder device. The ring may be segmented, and the gap cover elements may engage with interfaces between the ring segments. The gap cover elements are configured to move radially outward and wear as the ring wears. The gap cover elements may include, for example, wedge-shaped features that engage with corresponding wedge recesses in the interfaces. The sealing ring assembly may include a high-pressure boundary and a low-pressure boundary. As the sealing ring wears, the gap cover elements stay engaged with the interfaces, so that ring gaps do not form on the low pressure boundary.

CUPSEAL FOR COMPRESSOR AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME
20210388902 · 2021-12-16 ·

The subject application relates to a cupseal for a compressor and method for preparing the same. Systems and methods are disclosed that include providing an annular seal for a compressor. The annular seal includes a substantially planar first portion, a first angled portion extending at an angle from the substantially planar first portion, and a second angled portion extending radially at an angle from the first angled portion. The annular seal is formed from a fluorinated polymer and includes at least one additive or filler. The annular seal exhibits reduced wear and an increased lifespan.

ROTATING CONTROL DEVICE WITH ACTIVE MATERIAL
20210372224 · 2021-12-02 ·

A rotating control device (RCD) includes a housing defining a bore, a seal element supported within the housing and configured to form a seal against a tubular within the bore, and an active material within the housing. The active material is configured to deform upon application of a magnetic field or an electric field to thereby adjust the seal against the tubular.

SEALING DEVICE

A sealing device is disposed within a circumferential groove of an inner member that reciprocates relative to an outer member. An inner seal ring of the sealing device is made of a resin and includes an outer peripheral surface having a circumferential groove. An outer seal ring of the sealing device has a high elasticity and is fitted into the circumferential groove of the inner seal ring. The outer seal ring is brought into slidable contact with the inner peripheral surface of the hole of the outer member. A back ring of the sealing device has a high elasticity, is disposed radially inside the inner seal ring, and is compressed between the inner peripheral surface of the inner seal ring and the bottom wall surface of the circumferential groove of the inner member. Inclined surfaces are formed at both ends of the outer peripheral surface of the inner seal ring in the axial direction of the inner seal ring, each of the inclined surfaces having a diameter that decreases as a distance from a center of the outer peripheral surface of the inner seal ring in the axial direction increases. Protruding annular portions are formed at both ends of the inner peripheral surface of the inner seal ring in the axial direction, the protruding annular portions protruding radially inward to restrict movement of the back ring in the axial direction.

WIPER-SCRAPER WITH ENERGIZING SPRING
20220205545 · 2022-06-30 ·

A wiper-scraper comprising a can having an inner wall, an upper axial lip, and a lower axial lip is described. The upper and lower axial lips are disposed at opposite ends of the inner wall and define a first central opening and a groove. A wiper is disposed in the groove adjacent the lower axial lip. A scraper is disposed in the groove between the wiper and the upper axial lip and floats within the groove. The scraper defines a scraper channel facing toward the inner wall and an energizing spring is disposed in the scraper channel. The energizing spring has a serpentine shape and applies a biasing force between the inner wall and the scraper.
