A control valve includes a valve body having a main valve passageway. A flow control assembly is positioned in the main valve passageway and includes a first control element, and a second control element rotatable relative to the first control element between a closed position, a first position, and a second position. In the closed position, the first and second control elements form a plug which prevents fluid flow through the main valve passageway. In the first position, the first and second control elements collectively define a first control passageway therethrough, and in the second position, the first and second control elements collectively define the first control passageway and a second control passageway therethrough.

Adapter for bottom outlet valve

According to certain embodiments, an adapter assembly for a bottom outlet valve comprises an apparatus configured to be coupled to a stem of the bottom outlet valve of the railroad car. The stem of the bottom outlet valve is aligned generally with a longitudinal axis of the railroad car. The apparatus comprises a coupler configured to be coupled to the stem of the bottom outlet valve and a primary gear coupled to the coupler. The primary gear is configured to be coupled to a handle assembly extending from either side of the railroad car. The handle assembly is configured to operate the bottom outlet valve.

CHECK VALVES

A check valve comprises an annular housing defining a generally circular opening. A plurality of radially extending arms extend across the circular opening from the centre of the valve housing to respective nodes at the periphery of the valve housing. A plurality of cross arms extend between circumferentially adjacent nodes, thereby dividing the circular opening into a plurality of primary, generally triangular radially inner openings and a plurality of secondary, generally segment shaped radially outer openings. A plurality of primary, generally triangular flapper elements close the primary openings and a plurality of secondary, generally segment shaped flapper elements close the secondary openings. Respective mounting posts are arranged at a respective node and a respective hinge pin is mounted between respective circumferentially adjacent mounting posts.

Grid flap

The present application deals with a grid flap, comprising a multiplicity of vertical and horizontal grid struts, a frame which surrounds the grid struts, wherein a vertical and a horizontal grid strut respectively overlap in a crossing point, characterized in that the crossing points of the grid struts are made of one piece. As the grid is self-supporting because of its topology (made of one piece) and the overlapping of two grid struts can be avoided, double areas or cavities can be avoided, which contributes to a hygienic design of the grid flap.

Methods and structure for reducing losses in 90 degree waste gates for turbochargers
10626788 · 2020-04-21 · ·

A turbocharger (10) has an improved wastegate valve assembly (45) wherein a port-controlling valve body (44) includes flow formations which serve to reduce exhaust gas flow in non-optimal directions transverse to an optimal flow direction in the direction of a wastegate passage (26). These flow formations serve to optimize or maximize the flow of exhaust gas in the optimal or primary flow direction as the exhaust gas flow turns through a turn angle (47) from an inlet direction (29) to the optimal flow direction.

Serviceable valve carousel system
10571039 · 2020-02-25 · ·

A serviceable valve carousel system may include a valve carousel housing having a first port adapter receiver, a valve service port, and a second port adapter receiver. A rotatable valve carousel may be disposed within the valve carousel housing. The rotatable valve carousel may include a valve lumen and a removable valve cap. A first port adapter may be removably attached to the first port adapter receiver and a second port adapter may removably attached to the second port adapter receiver. The first port adapter and the second port adapter may be of a type or kind needed to facilitate connectivity. The rotatable valve carousel may be rotatable between a first state that allows fluid communication between the first port adapter and the second port adapter through a check valve and a second state that allows the worn check valve to be removed and replaced via the valve service port.

Additively manufactured valve assembly

A valve assembly and a method of additively manufacturing the same are provided. The valve assembly includes a valve housing defining first and second mounting features, such as recessed dimples or protruding bumps, positioned on opposite sides of a substantially cylindrical channel to define a hinge axis. One or more valve flaps are positioned within the cylindrical channel, each valve flap including a hinge member extending along the hinge axis and defining two or more complementary features or coupling members for engaging either the mounting features of the valve housing or an adjacent hinge member.
