Port Gate Supports for a Gate Valve

Embodiments provide a gate valve including a first body half that defines a first process fluid aperture, a second body half that defines a second process fluid aperture aligned with the first process fluid aperture, a gate that is movable relative to the first body half and the second body, and a first port gate support that is arranged on the first body half and extends into the first process fluid aperture. The first port gate support defines a curved surface that is configured to be in contact with a process fluid.

ACTUATOR WITH TORSIONAL SPRING ASSEMBLY

An apparatus for actuating a valve includes an actuator body with a central body axis and a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end having a connector selectively connectable to a valve assembly. An actuator stem extends along the central body axis. A torsional spring assembly has at least one torsional spring with a spring axis that is offset at an angle from the central body axis. A motion translator engages an inner end of the torsional spring assembly and the actuator stem, selectively converting rotation of the at least one torsional spring about the spring axis of the at least one torsional spring to linear movement of the actuator stem along the central body axis.

Gasket Seal for a Gate Valve

Embodiments provide a gate valve including a first body half that defines a first process fluid aperture, a first chest portion, and a first gate support recess that is formed in the first chest portion. A second body half defines a second process fluid aperture that is aligned with the first process fluid aperture, a second chest portion, and a second gate support recess that is formed in the second chest portion. A gate is movable relative to the first body half and the second body half, and a gasket seal includes a flange portion, a body portion, and at least one cutout. The flange portion and the body portion are sized to be compressed between the first body half and the second body half, and the at least one cutout provides for volume transformation of the gasket seal under compression.

Gate Supports for a Gate Valve

Embodiments provide a gate valve including a first body half that defines a first process fluid aperture, a first chest portion, and a first chest gate support recess formed in the first chest portion. A second body half defines a second process fluid aperture that is aligned with the first process fluid aperture, a second chest portion, and a second chest gate support recess that is formed in the second chest portion. A gate is movable relative to the first body half and the second body half. A first chest gate support is received within the first chest gate support recess, and a second chest gate support is received within the second chest gate support recess.

DLC-coated gate valve in petroleum production or water injection

The invention provides a gate valve (1) for control of petroleum production or water injection, distinctive in that at least one surface subject to sliding in operation of the valve comprises a top layer coating of diamond like carbon (DLC). The DLC contains hydrogen, preferably more than 16 atom-% and more preferred more than 17 atom-%. It is further directed to a method of commissioning or operating a gate valve according to the invention, and use of a diamond like carbon (DLC) top layer coating on at least one surface subject to sliding in operation of the gate valve. Valve parts have a tendency of sticking, adhering or cold welding together, which result in high friction. The aim of the invention is to reduce or eliminate friction problems occurring with time or operation cycles, when using a full scale gate valve.

However, turbulence within such valves can cause the valve's head to move radially, bending a shaft within the valve which may break. Accordingly, there is provided a flow control valve comprising: a housing having a flow passage; a valve seat defined within the flow passage; a valve head moveable to a closed position to engage the valve seat and seal the flow passage; a shaft secured to the valve head; a support slidingly mounting the shaft within the housing; a spring biasing the valve head to the closed position and configured to maintain the valve head in the closed position until a predetermined pressure is applied; and a guide assembly extending along at least a portion of the flow passage to constrain radial movement of the valve head.

Push-activated tub spout

A tub spout with a diverter mechanism includes a housing having an external surface and an internal cavity that includes a spout outlet. A water supply conduit is located within the internal cavity and provides a fluid path that is in fluid communication with the spout outlet. A push button extends outwardly of the external surface of the housing and is movable relative to the housing between a non-diverting position where water exits the spout outlet and a diverting position where water is prevented from exiting the spout outlet. A diverter gate is positioned within the internal cavity to selectively block the fluid path and is coupled for movement with the push button. A resilient member biases the push button to the non-diverting position.

Gate retention for an inductor box of an agricultural implement

An inductor box for an agricultural implement includes an inlet configured to receive agricultural product from a tank. The inductor box also includes a housing having a cavity therein. The cavity is configured to receive the agricultural product from the inlet. The inductor box includes a gate configured to be removably inserted between the inlet and the cavity, to block the agricultural product from entering the cavity while disposed between the inlet and the cavity, and to enable the agricultural product to enter the cavity while removed from being disposed between the inlet and the cavity. The inductor box includes a first guide coupled to the housing and configured to direct the gate away from the inlet. The first guide is disposed between the gate and the inlet while the gate is disposed between the inlet and the cavity.
