Intumescent Cover or Joiner
20230173314 · 2023-06-08 ·

A cover or joiner is configured to cover the respective channels and/or joins between adjacent thermal insulation panels of a structural fire protection system, such as for marine vessel deckheads and bulkheads. The cover or joiner can include an elongate member, such as a strip, that includes intumescent insulation, and optionally can include one or more fastener arrangements, such as use of holes for attaching the cover or joiner to the underlying thermal insulation panels and support framework. The cover or joiner can be insulated with 6 mm thick intumescent insulation material and attached (e.g., screwed) to the framework. A front face of the cover or joiner (front facing away from the panels) can be of metal, such as stainless steel or galvanised steel.

Systems and methods for adaptive monitoring of a shipping container for an environmental anomaly

An adaptive method and system for monitoring a shipping container for an environmental anomaly uses sensor-based ID nodes within the container and a command node. Sensors on each ID node generate sensor data about an environmental condition proximate the ID node as disposed within the container. Each ID node periodically broadcasts the sensor data. The command node monitors a first group of sensor data from the ID nodes over a first time period to detect an initial environmental threshold condition related to the container, then monitors a subsequent group of sensor data over a second time period under a modified monitoring parameter to detect a secondary environmental threshold condition related to the container as the anomaly. In response to detecting the secondary condition, the command node generates an alert notification and transmits the alert notification to an external transceiver to initiate a mediation response related to the anomaly.

Device for extinguishing a fire

Extinguishing a fire by pressurizing a tank containing an extinguishing liquid. According to the invention, the tank containing the liquid is provided with an expulsion outlet at a front end, a gas generator (17) is installed at a rear end, and a diaphragm forming an inflatable bag (19) is installed inside the tank, being folded prior to triggering in a confinement space at the front of the gas generator, the outlet from the generator being associated with a deflector (47) including a rearwardly-directed ejection passage (49).

An anti-sinking and anti-fire safety system for boats includes inflatable devices, is installed in a first deflated configuration and assumes a second irreversibly inflated configuration, with a volume considerably greater than the first deflated configuration. Each inflatable device is connected to at least one dispenser expanding a predetermined quantity of non-inflammable foam within the corresponding inflatable device to assume the desired volume in the second inflated configuration. Each dispenser is connected to an activator to activate the corresponding dispenser by remote control of the user, sent by a control system. The emergency system also includes dispensers, connected to the activator expanding non-inflammable foam between the free spaces present between the inflatable devices already inflated, and in any other fire risk space. The non-inflammable foam sublimates after a known time. The control system includes a processor and a communication interface.

SYSTEMS, APPARATUS, AND METHODS FOR DETECTING AND VERIFYING AN ENVIRONMENTAL ANOMALY USING MULTIPLE COMMAND NODES
20220182450 · 2022-06-09 ·

A system for detecting and verifying an environmental anomaly within a shipping container (transported on a transit vehicle having an external transceiver) has wireless sensor-based ID nodes at different locations within the container and multiple command nodes mounted to the container. A first command node is programmatically configured to be operative to detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; responsively identify the anomaly based upon the sensor data detected by that command node; and transmit a validation request to another command node. The other command node is configured to be operative to also detect the sensor data broadcasted from the ID nodes; receive the validation request from the first command node; verify the anomaly in response to the validation request and based upon the sensor data detected by the second command node; and broadcast a verification message based upon whether the anomaly for the shipping container is verified.
