METHOD OF OPERATING A VEHICLE
An aircraft includes at least one source collecting a set of navigational parameters of the aircraft, the at least one source obtaining flight data for the aircraft and including at least one of a global positioning system, an inertial reference system, or a sensor. The aircraft further includes a flight control computer communicatively coupled to the source and including a first processor and a first memory having a machine-readable medium, as well as a flight management system communicatively coupled to the flight control computer.
Shutter Valves
A shuttle valve is disclosed. The shuttle valve comprises a valve body, a valve member, and a catch. The valve body comprises a first and a second fluid inlet, a central chamber, and a fluid outlet. The first and second fluid inlets and the fluid outlet open into the central chamber via a first and a second inlet mouth and an outlet mouth. The valve member is configured to move between a first and a second position, the valve member closes the first inlet mouth and allows fluid communication between the second inlet mouth and the outlet mouth when the valve member is in the first position, and the valve member closes the second inlet mouth and allows fluid communication between the first inlet mouth and the outlet mouth when the valve member is in the second position.
Self sealing jetting valve
An apparatus for use in marine platform jacking is disclosed herein. In one aspect, a jetting valve includes a valve body with a piston assembly disposed therein. The piston assembly is selectively operated to open and close the valve. A biasing member is coupled to the piston assembly. The piston assembly includes a first piston and a second piston. The dual pistons, in cooperation with the biasing member, allow the valve to self-seal thereby preventing entry of a fluid which is external to the valve.
Fuel pump and inlet valve assembly thereof
A fuel pump includes a fuel pump housing with a pumping chamber and an inlet valve bore which extends along an inlet valve bore axis. The inlet valve bore is stepped such that the inlet valve bore includes a shoulder which is traverse to the inlet valve bore axis. A pumping plunger reciprocates within a plunger bore along a plunger bore axis such that an intake stroke of the pumping plunger increases volume of the pumping chamber and a compression stroke of the pumping plunger decreases volume of the pumping chamber. An inlet valve assembly includes a valve seat with a valve seat flow passage extending therethrough, the valve seat abuts the shoulder and is urged toward the shoulder by pressure within the pumping chamber during the compression stroke. The inlet valve assembly also includes a valve member which is moveable between an unseated position and a seated position.
Bi-stable quick-release valve
A valve for applying an emergency brake of a rail vehicle includes a valve housing, an actuation member to be activated by a user, an actuation rod connecting the actuation member with a valve head, wherein the valve head is adapted to abut on a valve seat, a guidance for guiding the actuation rod being provided within the valve housing, and a first spring adapted to push the valve head against the valve seat, wherein the actuation rod includes a first groove and a second groove, and wherein a first following member is provided between the actuation rod and the guidance, being adapted to stably rest in the first groove or the second groove.
Low shear control valve
A flow control device includes a stack of annular discs positioned in a flow path. Each disc includes fluid passageways extending between inner and outer perimeters of the disc, with each passageway defining a flow axis extending out of the disc and radially offset from a central axis of the discs. A plug is moveable relative to the discs between closed and open positions. In the closed position, a cylindrical section of the plug is positioned to block fluid flow through the annular discs. In the open position, the annular discs and a tapered section of the plug collectively define an annular vortex chamber. The fluid passageways in the annular discs and the tapered section of the plug collectively impart a rotational flow when the plug is in the open position and as fluid exits the annular discs.
Plate valve and method for operating same
An automatic plate valve having a valve seat, a valve guard, a longitudinal axis (L) and a valve element arranged between the valve seat and the valve guard and movable along the longitudinal axis (L). The valve seat includes an end face having with valve seat openings oriented towards the valve guard, and a plurality of passages, which have a fluid-conducting connection to the valve seat openings. The valve element includes sealing element interacting with the valve seat openings. Wherein some of the passages have a different distance to the longitudinal axis in a radial direction (R). The end face of the valve seat including a plurality of grooved recesses, forming valve seat openings, with passages open into the same recess, the passages forming a fluid-conducting connection to the valve seat opening. Some of these passages connected to the valve seat opening have different distances to the longitudinal axis.
Check valve insert defining an open position and check valves having same
Check valve inserts define a valve seat for an open position of a check valve and have an outer support seatable in an internal chamber of the check valve and have an inner annular ring spaced radially inward from the outer support by a rib that angles axially toward a central longitudinal axis to position an upper surface of the inner annular ring a distance axially beyond an upper surface of the outer support. Check valves have a housing defining an inlet port, an outlet port, and a chamber in fluid communication with the inlet and outlet ports, have the check valve insert seated with the chamber, and have a seal disc moveable within the chamber between the open position defined by the inner annular ring of the check valve insert and a closed position. The seal disc is translatable in response to a pressure difference across the seal disc.
LIQUID ACCUMULATOR AND HEAT EXCHANGE SYSTEM HAVING LIQUID ACCUMULATOR
A liquid accumulator and a heat exchange system having the liquid accumulator are provided. The liquid accumulator includes a barrel body and a one-way valve, and the one-way valve is disposed in the barrel body. The one-way valve includes a valve seat and a valve plate, the valve seat is provided with a valve port, a side of the valve seat towards the outlet end is provided with the valve plate, the valve port is covered by the valve plate. And a protrusion is located surrounding the valve port and the valve plate is capable of moving towards or away from the valve port, so as to open or close the one-way valve.
Surface cleaning tool
A surface cleaning tool including a housing forming a handle, a motor, a fluid reservoir coupled to the motor for rotational movement, a cleaning head coupled to and rotatable with the fluid reservoir, and a valve configured to control the flow of fluid from the fluid reservoir to the cleaning head. The valve is actuated by movement of the fluid reservoir from a first position to a second position relative to the cleaning head.
