Method and system for filling and venting a device for extracorporeal blood treatment, with stepped flooding of a filter
A method for filling and venting a device for extracorporeal blood treatment is disclosed, such as a patient module in a heart-lung machine, without attached patient. A filling liquid from a filling liquid container located higher than the device flows by gravity via a venous side of the system into a reservoir and flows onwards into a blood pump located at the lower end of the reservoir, wherein a first controllable valve (HC1) for a venting line of a filter is opened and, after the response of an upper filling level sensor in the reservoir, is closed. An upper level of the filter is positioned higher than the upper filling level sensor, and a start-stop motion of the blood pump is performed, as a result of which a stepped flooding of the filter is made providing for an advantageous de-airing of the device.
SOLENOID INITIATOR WITH A MANUAL OVERRIDE FOR INFLATION SYSTEM
A solenoid valve assembly with a manual override is provided that includes a solenoid valve housing that is supportive of a valve seat, a plunger-type armature valve element fluidly communicative with a fluid source and initially pressure balanced to remain in a closed position relative to the valve seat and an electromagnet configured to generate a magnetic flux to move the plunger-type armature-valve element into an open position relative to the valve seat. The solenoid valve assembly with a manual override also includes a manual actuation assembly configured to generate an applied force to move the plunger-type armature valve element into the open position relative to the valve seat.
Mechanically operated hot water bypass valve operated without electricity
An improved, wholly mechanical, valve unit is provided to automatically allow for flow between a high temperature liquid line and a cooler temperature liquid line in order to maintain the immediate availability of hot liquid immediately upstream of the valve, especially for hot water used in a building. The valve unit of the present invention includes a thermally-activated, bi-metal, or more broadly bi-flexive, valve disc, and a smaller diameter valve seat that concentrically contacts the valve disc intermediate the outer circumference and the center of the disc. The bi-flexive disc is provided two-sided, circumferential support, thus substantially equalizing the pressure against both sides of the disc, even when in the closed valve position between the higher temperature, higher pressure, hot water line and the lower pressure cold water line. The valve opens when the temperature differential across the valve disc decreases below a preset amount.
PRESSURE-BALANCED RELIEF VALVE
There is provided a valve apparatus comprising a body including an inlet, an outlet, and a fluid passage extending from the inlet to the outlet, a closure member displaceable, relative to the fluid passage, from a closed position to an open position for effecting fluid communication between the inlet and the outlet, a retainer for retaining the closure member in the closed position, and an actuator including a stimulus responder for receiving a predetermined stimulus and effecting release of the closure member from retention by the retainer in response to the receiving of a predetermined stimulus. The closure member, the retainer, and the stimulus responder are co-operatively configured such that: while there is an absence of receiving of a predetermined stimulus by the stimulus responder, the closure member is retained by the retainer in the closed position, and while the closure member is being retained by the retainer, in response to receiving of a predetermined stimulus by the stimulus responder, the closure member becomes released from the retention by the retainer.
Solenoid valve and hydraulic braking system for a vehicle
In a solenoid valve for a hydraulic braking system, a valve body has a receiving region which at least partially accommodates a guide assembly, the valve armature running axially through at least one through-opening of the guide assembly. A mechanical detent device is formed between the guide assembly and the valve armature, the detent device releasing the valve armature when the latter is in a de-energised closed position, such that the restoring spring drives the valve armature and pushes the closing element sealingly into the valve seat to produce a sealing function, and said detent device fixes the valve armature in a de-energised open position against the force of the restoring spring in an axial detent position, such that the closing element is raised from the valve seat.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR A SOLENOID HAVING A PERMANENT MAGNET
A solenoid is provided. The solenoid includes a housing, a pole piece, an end plate formed with or coupled to the housing, a wire coil arranged within the housing, a permanent magnet arranged between the pole piece and the end plate, an armature configured to selectively move between a first position and a second position in response to a current applied to the wire coil, and a spring configured to bias the armature. When the wire coil is de-energized, the armature is maintained in at least one of the first position and the second position. The first position is configured to be maintained by the spring and the second position is configured to be maintained by magnetic attraction between the armature and the permanent magnet through engagement between the armature and the pole piece.
Bi-stable hydraulic control valve system
Systems and methods for a bi-stable valve are provided. The bi-stable valve may comprise a housing including an input port, a first output port, and a second output port, a spool disposed within the housing and configured to translate in response to a first magnetic force, wherein the spool is further configured to selectively enable fluid communication between the input port and each of the first output port and the second output port in response to translating the spool between a first position and a second position, a spring disposed within the housing and coupled to the spool, an electromagnet coupled to the housing and configured to apply the first magnetic force to the spool, and a permanent magnet configured to apply a second magnetic force to the spool.
Fluid-regulator with field convertible slam-shut device
A fluid control device has a body, actuator, and slam-shut device. The body defines an inlet, an outlet, and a plurality of slam-shut openings, and a seat is positioned along a flow path between the inlet and outlet. The actuator is configured to modulate a position of a first control element relative to a first side of the seat along an actuation axis to control a fluid pressure. The slam-shut device has a second control element that is movable along the actuation axis and is biased toward a second side of the seat and a slam-shut actuator configured to trigger the second control element to move to the closed position in which the second control element contacts the second side of the seat. The slam-shut actuator includes a shaft and the slam-shut actuator and shaft are positionable in any one of the plurality of slam-shut openings in different configurations.
BISTABLE ELECTROMAGNETIC ACTUATOR AND AIRCRAFT BRAKE VALVE PROVIDED WITH SUCH AN ACTUATOR
The invention provides a bistable electromagnetic actuator comprising a yoke extending in part around a pivot axis of the actuator, an excitation coil supported by the yoke in order to generate control magnetic flux, a rotor movable about the pivot axis of the actuator and suitable for being held stationary in two stable angular positions as a function of the magnetic flux generated by the coil, an actuator member coupled to the rotor in order to form an assembly that can be turned, and a manual control device including a drive shaft dynamically coupled to the rotor in such a manner that turning the drive shaft causes the rotor to turn.
PNEUMATIC SPRAY GUN SWITCH VALVE
A switch valve for comfortable use of pneumatic spray guns. The switch valve is configured inside the switch passage of the gun body, comprising a switch screw seat fixed with the gun body, a switch seat configured on the right side of the switch screw seat, an air valve configured in the middle portion of the switch screw seat and the switch seat, a switch spring configured on the right end of the air valve. The air valve and the switch seat interact to open or close the air passage. The size of the switch spring is smaller than the switch passage. A switch spring pad is configured on the right side of the switch spring.
