A bend restrictor segment (500) for defining a minimum radius of curvature of a portion of an elongate member. The bend restrictor segment comprises a first body portion (502) and a further body portion (504). The first and further body portions are connectable to form an annular body. The first body portion further comprises a fixing assembly (510) on an outer circumferential edge (508) of the first body portion, for connecting the first and further body portions together, the fixing assembly being integrally connected with the first body portion.

Flow modification device, system, and method

A flow modification device connectable to a generally cylindrical element adapted for immersion in a fluid medium, the device comprising an elongate body having a length and a generally circular cross-section; a plurality of raised body portions disposed about and extending along the length of the elongate body, the raised body portions being arranged generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of the body and having a height between 2% and 10% of a diameter of the body; and an aperture extending through the length of the elongate body, the aperture being adapted to receive the generally cylindrical element such that the flow modification device is arranged about the cylindrical element. The plurality of raised body portions are adapted to reduce vortex-induced vibration and/or drag on the cylindrical element when the device is connected to the cylindrical element and the connected device and cylindrical element are immersed in the fluid medium and there is relative movement between the connected device and cylindrical element and the fluid medium.

Sliding subsea foundations

A sliding subsea foundation comprises a polymeric shoe layer on the underside of a mudmat or subsea structure. The shoe layer defines a soil-engaging face that comprises an array of parallel grooves. The grooves are shallower than the thickness of the shoe layer such that each groove has a closed top, defined by and integral with the shoe layer, that spans the groove. Where a subsea structure is supported on the foundation with a subsea pipeline attached to the structure, the grooves are substantially parallel to a longitudinal axis of the pipeline.

Erosion control mat system

A concrete mat apparatus, includes a plurality of elongated concrete members, each member being aligned with and next to another concrete member. Each of the concrete members has an upper generally flat surface, a lower generally flat surface, and a plurality of inclined surfaces that each extend away from an upper or lower surface. Reinforcement extends from a first end portion of each concrete member to a second end portion thereof, the reinforcement including a plurality of longitudinally extending reinforcement bars and a plurality of encircling tie bars at spaced apart intervals. Cabling connects each of the elongated concrete members to another of the elongated concrete members. The upper inclined surfaces of one of the elongated concrete members forms a plane with the lower inclined surface of an adjacent elongated concrete member. A plurality of loops are provided along opposed edges of the mat.

Provided is an offshore structure, especially offshore wind turbine, including a platform that is connected to the seabed, especially via a foundation that carries the platform, and an appliance, wherein it comprises guiding means for guiding at least one tube or cable along a guidance path from a respective entry point at which the tube or cable enters the platform to a respective connection point at which the tube or cable is connected or connectable to the appliance.

Guide Apparatus
20190145569 · 2019-05-16 ·

Guide apparatus for an elongate member such as a pipeline or pipe. The apparatus comprising a plurality of first elements in the form of rings with central openings through which the elongate member extends. The first elements are interconnected by link members spaced around the outside of the first elements and locating in T-shaped cross section guide formations. The link members restrict the amount of pivotal movement between the first elements, and hence bending of the elongate member.

Fairing and method

A fairing device for the reduction of vortex-induced vibrations or motions, and for minimizing the drag about a substantially cylindrical element immersed in a fluid medium, comprising; a fairing rotatably mounted about the cylindrical element, the fairing comprising a shell with a mainly cylindrical cross-sectional shape with an outer diameter (D) following the outer diameter of the cylindrical element from an upward stagnation point of 0 degrees to at least +/90 degrees, and which at +/90 degrees continues as two fin-like portions in an aft direction, whereby the fin-like portions are convexly curved aft of +/90 degrees thus tapering towards each other and are defining a tail end opening or gap less than the fairing standoff height. A method for mounting, storage, and deployment of the fairing device is also disclosed.

Offshore S-lay pipelaying vessel

An offshore S-lay pipelaying vessel for laying a pipeline on the seabed, the vessel includes a hull and an elongated stinger having a hull end and a free end, the stinger being adapted to support the pipeline to be laid from the vessel. The stinger includes a stinger frame, possibly composed of one or more rigid stinger frame sections, possibly articulated sections. And, distributed over the length of the stinger, multiple pipeline support assemblies are mounted to the stinger frame that provide support for the pipeline.

Dynamic scaling of visualization data while maintaining desired object characteristics

Visualization of three-dimensional data without loss of desired characteristics is enabled by receiving three-dimensional data pertaining to a physical object in the world, the physical object represented by a series of segments, the three-dimensional data including a predetermined number of measurements of the series of segments, storing the three-dimensional data in data storage and generating an average measurement value for each of the series of segments. The process further involves generating a first generalization of the three-dimensional data by selecting, for each of the series of segments, a desired number of measurements, fewer than the predetermined number of measurements, that represent the largest deviations from the respective average measurement, storing the selected measurements as the first generalization of the three-dimensional data in the data storage, and upon request, providing access to the first generalization of the three-dimensional data.
