Duct connection device
A duct is shaped and sized for connectability to a vent (or vent adaptor). The duct has an end portion with a flared section separated from a tapered flap section by a lip. The flaps are foldable inwardly at the lip upon engagement with the vent, and airflow through the duct presses the folded flaps against the vent for additional securement of the connection between same. Additional securement and stability may be provided by an adhesive retaining a tapered flap section to a flared section following inward folding of the tapered flap section.
Fluid conduit ramp
A fluid conduit ramp construction provides partitions within a low profile outer conduit to reduce weight and increase strength while having a reduced device pressure loss at high flow rates such as are required for fire-fighting circumstances where large quantities of water must be supplied across a road or thoroughfare. The fluid conduit ramp may be rigid or flexible and of sufficient width to unconditionally provide fluid conduit cross-sectional areas larger than the nominal diameter of fire hose with which it is used. The fluid conduit ramp can be quickly deployed by one or two persons requiring only a short duration of traffic interruption after which traffic flow may be resumed at higher speeds than are possible using hose bridges.
Exhaust Air Channel Arrangement for a Kitchen Exhaust Air Channel System
An exhaust air channel arrangement for a kitchen exhaust air channel system is provided in which the exhaust air channel arrangement is composed of a sheet metal pipe and a supporting structure, which is movably received within the sheet metal pipe along the longitudinal direction (x) of the sheet metal pipe, wherein both opposed wall portions of the sheet metal pipe are mutually supported by the supporting structure.
Multi-layer removable duct liners
An apparatus comprising a multi-layer duct liner which can be inserted into existing duct systems such as HVAC system ducts. In facilities where micro-organisms are a concern, the linings may be chemically treated. When it is time to clean the ducts, the innermost lining is removed by detaching it from the remaining layers and removing it from the system.
TYPE MODULE FOR THE CREATION OF DUCTS FOR THE CIRCULATION OF AIR AND DUCT OBTAINED WITH THIS MODULE
A module for air circulation ducts, of the type consisting of a quadrangular body formed by panels (6) mutually assembled at their longitudinal edges and provided with sections (4) for air transit between adjacent modules (5). According to the invention, said panels (6) have a sandwich-type monolithic structure, having a central body (7) of heat-insulating material, coated on the external surfaces with a layer (8) of protective stiffening material. In comparison with the known ducts, the duct according to the invention offers the advantage that the creation of pre-formed modules, i.e. provided with their own insulation and coating, made monolithically within the structure of the modules, allows the stable fitting of the insulation and coating on the module and therefore also on the final duct as a whole, even at the joints thereof.
Square Tube Forming Process
A tube and method for sizing the effective inside diameter of the tube to a smaller effective inside diameter is provided. The method uses rollers that apply focused pressure to the tube to create a crease that reduces the effective inside diameter without substantially changing the outside envelope of the tube. The crease may be either a radius or squared. Reducing the effective inside diameter of the tube creates radiused surfaces for a self-tapping screw to cut threads.
Prefabricated Outdoor Thermal Duct System
A prefabricated outdoor thermal duct system is provided having a metal formed ductwork air passage, a hard board insulation layer glued to the metal duct leaving custom cut space for duct connections, a custom prefabricated cladding formed and adhered to the hard board insulation, a custom fabricated insert matching the insulation material, installed over the duct connection in the field to seal the joint, and a final fabricated cap adhered to the cladding.
Fire-rated modular duct assembly and improvements therein
A fire-rated exhaust duct system comprising a modular configuration or structure. The fire-rated exhaust duct system comprises a plurality of exhaust duct sections. Each of the exhaust duct sections is configured to be joined or connected with other exhaust duct sections in the field or at an installation site, e.g. in building housing a kitchen facility or a laboratory facility to form longer sections or runs for exhaust duct system.
Structurally reinforced duct
Reinforced duct section comprising side walls defining a duct interior. At least two of the side walls are parallel. A compression member extends between ribs provided on the inside surfaces of the two parallel side walls to prevent the parallel side walls from bowing inwardly. A tension member extends between two force distribution members provided on the outside surfaces of the parallel side walls to prevent the side walls from bowing outwardly. The compression member may comprise a truss provided between two ribs. The truss may be longer than the duct section. The ribs may connect first and second flanges provided on the ends of the two parallel side walls.
Tubular duct member
A tubular duct member comprises a plurality of sheet metal panels 10, 12 joined along adjacent longitudinal edges by cooperating folded sheet metal catches 14, 16, the catches being pushed together such that respective detent surfaces 28, 30 on each catch engage behind one another to retain the edges of the sheets together. One of the catches 14 includes a body 36 of resilient material compressed between the catches and biasing the catches apart to maintain the detent surfaces 28, 30 bearing against one another.
