CONNECTOR SYSTEM FOR USE IN ULTRA-HIGH VACUUM SYSTEMS
A connector for use in an ultra-high vacuum system is disclosed herein. The connector has a metal conduit section with a first hardness, a metal fitting with a second hardness greater than the first hardness of the conduit section, and a metallic reaction-inhibiting barrier positioned between the conduit section and the fitting to sealingly attach the fitting to the conduit section. Oxide formation on the surface of the metal conduit section proximal to the reaction-inhibiting barrier is prevented either mechanically or via treatment with an oxide inhibitor. The reaction-inhibiting barrier is selected from a group of metals that will substantially inhibit metallic and chemical interaction between the conduit section and the fitting under ultra-high vacuum, temperature cycling, and reactive chemical conditions.
Methods and materials to universally fit duct liner insulation for oval HVAC duct systems
The present disclosure relates generally to duct liner insulation products for curvilinear ducts, and more specifically relates to methods and materials to universally fit duct liner insulation for lining oval ducts in air conditioning, heating, and ventilating (HVAC) systems. A duct liner insulation for a curvilinear duct is provided that includes an insulation layer configured to line an interior surface of a curvilinear duct when installed within the curvilinear duct. The duct liner insulation also includes an elastically deformable layer configured to compress the insulation layer against the interior surface of the curvilinear duct when installed within the curvilinear duct such that the insulation layer extends substantially uniformly around an inner periphery of the curvilinear duct.
Reducing the risk of corrosion in pipelines
A carbon steel main body defines a flow passage. The carbon steel main body includes an end. The carbon steel main body includes a beveled edge at the end. A corrosion resistant cladding is deposited along an inner surface of the carbon steel main body. The corrosion resistant cladding extends from the end to a distance into the carbon steel main body.

Low temperature pipe insulation appratus
An insulation device for a low-temperature pipe according to the present disclosure includes: a pair of primary insulation materials surrounding a first radially outer surface and a second radially outer surface of the pipe; a pair of secondary insulation materials surrounding outer surfaces of the primary insulation materials; a pair of tertiary insulation materials surrounding outer surfaces of the secondary insulation materials; a pair of finishing covers surrounding outer surfaces of the tertiary insulation materials; an out-profile coupled to each of the finishing covers so as to surround each of widthwise opposite ends of the finishing cover; and an in-profile coupled to each of the finishing covers so as to surround each of lengthwise opposite ends of the finishing cover, wherein the pair of secondary insulation materials are configured such that each of opposed contact surfaces thereof is formed in a shape bent at least one time.
Threaded connection for pipes or tubes and method for producing the threaded connection for pipes or tubes
This invention provides a threaded connection for pipes or tubes having excellent misalignment resistance and high torque on shoulder resistance, and also having excellent corrosion resistance properties, as well as a method for producing the threaded connection for pipes or tubes. The threaded connection for pipes or tubes includes a pin and a box. The pin and the box include contact surfaces having threaded portions and unthreaded metal contact portions. The threaded connection for pipes or tubes includes, on at least one of the contact surfaces of the pin and the box, surface roughness, a Zn—Ni alloy plating layer, a Cu—Sn—Zn alloy plating layer and a solid lubricant coating layer. These are deposited from the contact surface side in the order of: surface roughness, the Zn—Ni alloy plating layer, the Cu—Sn—Zn alloy plating layer and the solid lubricant coating layer.
Apparatus for duct connection
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for connecting to the end of a duct, the apparatus comprising: an outer ring having a central axis (C) and an inner surface extending between a first axial end and a second axial end of the outer ring; and an inner ring positioned within the outer ring and having a central axis (C) and an outer surface extending between a first and second axial end of the inner ring. A gap is provided between the outer surface of the inner ring at its first end and the inner surface of the outer ring at its first end, the gap extending in the direction of the second ends of the inner and outer rings.
Composite, process for the production thereof, use of said material and articles comprising the said material
The present invention refers to a composite material that comprises carbon fiber or sheet made from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) or lignin being indicated for the manufacture of several articles such as high resistance pressure cylinder. Said material presents several advantages such as, for example, to provide improved screening to the articles that comprise it. The referred composite comprises: a first inner layer of polytetrafluorethylene, covered by a second layer of high-density polyethylene, adhered to a third layer of composite containing carbon fiber or sheet made from polyacrylonitrile (PAN) or lignin immersed in cured epoxy resin from a polymeric matrix and a hardener; and a fourth outer layer of composite, comprising aramid fiber impregnated with a dilating fluid and cured epoxy resin from a polymeric matrix and a hardener.
