Fire suppression system with multi-directional pass through nozzle

A fire suppression system for a gas turbine engine includes a fire suppressant delivery circuit, a first nozzle and a multi-directional nozzle. The fire suppressant delivery circuit includes and extends between an upstream inlet and a downstream distal end. The first nozzle is fluidly coupled with the fire suppressant delivery circuit and is disposed at the downstream distal end. The multi-directional nozzle is fluidly coupled with the fire suppressant delivery circuit and is configured serially inline between the upstream inlet and the first nozzle.

NOISE REDUCING FIRE SUPPRESSION NOZZLES

A fire suppression nozzle can include a first fluid channel configured to be in fluid communication with a first fluid having a first flow velocity and a second fluid channel configured to be in fluid communication with a second fluid having a second flow velocity. A mixer can be disposed between the first fluid channel and the second fluid channel such that the mixer is configured to induce streamwise vorticity in at least the first fluid exiting first fluid channel to cause mixing of the first fluid and the second fluid to reduce a flow speed of a mixture of the first fluid and the second fluid.

A fire suppression nozzle can include a first fluid channel configured to be in fluid communication with a first fluid having a first flow velocity and a second fluid channel configured to be in fluid communication with a second fluid having a second flow velocity. A flowable material delivery trailer is equipped to deliver flowable material (e.g. water, inert gas or other fluid, or flowable solid), preferably at a high pressure and a low flow rate, particularly in hazardous situations, for example in firefighting and in washing difficult to access areas or things (e.g. high voltage transmission towers, transformers on high voltage power lines, insulators on high voltage power lines, signs, street lights and other elevated surfaces). The trailer may comprise a plurality of detachable nozzles, which may be operated independently and simultaneously. The trailer is operable by a single operator under a variety of environmental conditions, and is capable of effectively managing flows to conserve flowable material during operation.

The spray head according to the present invention provides a uniform distribution of a fluid, such as pressurized water, over a relatively large area. To achieve this, the spray head comprises a body defining a central axis and further comprising a fixation structure for fixing the spray head to a fluid supply system, a fluid inlet, directing fluid in a first direction, a plurality of outlet holes arranged around the central axis, and a flow path between the inlet and the holes, wherein a first set of holes are located in such a way, that the fluid is leaving the first set of holes in a second direction opposite to the first direction and wherein the body further comprises an arrangement for holding a fire actuation member.
