Disclosed herein is a gimbal body comprising: an end part (51) for use in welding the gimbal body to a pipe; and a main body (53) attached to the end part (51); wherein: the end part (51) is made of a first material; and the main body (53) is made of a second material that is different from the first material. Embodiments provide a new method of manufacturing a gimbal that allows the use of the most appropriate materials for high temperature and high pressure performance whilst overcoming manufacturing and installation problems experienced by known gimbals constructed with such materials.

CONNECTION TUBE AND ITS METHOD OF MANUFACTURING

A connection tube (1) for connecting two tubes (8, 9) of different alloys, wherein the connection tube has a central through-hole extending along a longitudinal axis and comprises a first end portion (2) of a first alloy, 5 a second end portion (3) of a second alloy, and a middle portion (4) which is at least partly double-layered with said second alloy forming an annular inner layer and said first alloy forming an annular outer layer, wherein a metallic bond has been formed between said layers. The inner and outer layers are mechanically interlocked by means of at 10 least one helically extending thread formed in an interface between said layers. The connection tube is manufactured from a base component and an outer component threaded onto the base component to form a work piece, which is hot worked to form a metallic bond. 15

Coupling to be crimped onto at least one pipe, set of pipes including such a coupling, and method for assembling a pipe with such a coupling

The invention relates to a coupling which includes at least: a tubular coupling member suitable for receiving a pipe and comprising one or more annular ribs, and a crimping ring arranged on the coupling member and translatably movable between a position for inserting the pipe into the coupling member, and a crimping position, in which the crimping ring immobilizes the pipe relative to the coupling member after the deformation of the one or more ribs. Recesses are formed between the coupling member and the pipe in the crimping position. The coupling has at least one exhaust opening arranged such as to provide fluid communication between said at least one recess and the outside of the coupling.

Mechanical Joining Of Nitinol Tubes

The present invention relates to mechanical joining of Nickel Titanium tubes, also known as Nitinol, to other tubular components. Such mechanical joining may be achieved by interpenetration of lobe features between the respective tubes by translating the tubes together on a longitudinal axis, a transverse axis, by a combination of translation and rotational motion or by a hinging motion. The Nitinol superelasticity is used to accommodate the lobe deformation required for assembly and to snap the lobe back into its original shape to complete the mechanical joint.
