OIL COUNTRY TUBULAR GOODS CASING COUPLING
A threaded coupling comprising a first end, a second end, a first portion of the threaded coupling defining a first thread profile, a second portion of the threaded coupling defining a second thread profile different from the first thread profile, where at least two threads of the second thread profile proximate to the second end are reduced in height according to an extra machining angle.
DIRECTLY CONNECTED DRILL PIPE APPLICABLE TO EXTREME CONDITIONS
A directly connected drill pipe applicable to extreme conditions includes a tool joint pin and a tool joint box, where an external pipe section is located on an external side of a threaded section of the tool joint pin, and an annular groove is formed between the external pipe section and the threaded section of the tool joint pin. An insertion section of the tool joint box can be inserted into the annular groove in a matched manner. A main shoulder of the tool joint pin is located at an end of the external pipe section, a main auxiliary shoulder of the tool joint pin is located on a bottom surface of the annular groove, and an auxiliary shoulder of the tool joint pin is located at a small end of the tool joint pin. The tool joint box has three corresponding shoulders which form a 3-stage sealing with the tool joint pin.
SELF-LOCKING THREADED CONNECTION PARTIALLY IN NON-LOCKING ENGAGEMENT
A flush self-locking threaded connection partially in a non-locking engagement comprises a first and a second tubular component provided respectively with male and female threaded zone at their respective ends. First portions of the male and female threaded zones with varying thread width and root cooperate along a self-locking tightening arrangement. A locking region within the threaded connection is located in the middle of non-locking regions, and radially centered to the pipe body API tolerances in order to withstand high torque and seal performances.
ENHANCED WELDED PIPE, THREADED CONNECTIONS, AND METHODS FOR ACHIEVING THE SAME
A tubular member includes a tube body, a tube end, an exterior surface, an interior surface, a nominal wall thickness, a longitudinal axis, a welded seam, and a patch of material. The welded seam forms an arcuate portion of the interior surface, and the patch covers a portion of the interior surface that includes a portion of the welded seam, extending from the tube end to an axially spaced first location. The resulting interior surface from the tube end to the axially spaced first location has a uniform inside diameter.
Threaded connection with void
A threaded connection including a pin with a plurality of pin threads, the plurality of threads comprising a plurality of pin crests and pin roots; and a box with a plurality of box threads, the box threads comprising a plurality of box crests and box roots, where the plurality of box roots and the plurality of pin crests are parallel to a horizontal axis, and where the plurality of pin roots are parallel to and collinear with a pin root taper plane, the pin root taper plane being not parallel to the horizontal axis creating at least one void space upon make-up of the threaded connection between the plurality of pin crests and the plurality of box roots, and at least one void space upon make-up between the plurality of pin roots and box crests.
Non-Continuously Rotatable and Removable Ferrule for Duct Fitting
A fitting assembly for connection to a flexible duct includes a ferrule configured for insertion into an open end of the flexible duct a fitting removably connected to the ferrule. The ferrule includes a sidewall defining a minor diameter and a major diameter spaced apart from the minor diameter, and a ferrule thread extending radially outward from the sidewall. One of the fitting and the ferrule defines a recess. Another of the fitting and the ferrule comprises a tab configured to extend into the recess. One of the recess and the tab comprises an edge. Another of the recess and the tab comprises a ramped surface extending in a circumferential direction of the ferrule, such that rotation of the ferrule relative to the fitting causes the ramped surface to engage the edge, thereby radially deflecting the tab and disengaging the tab from the recess.
SWIVEL COUPLING
A watering nozzle including a handle configured to be grasped by a user, an inlet connector including a flange rigidly coupled to the handle, and an inlet engagement feature, a swivel coupling including a garden hose thread and a swivel shoulder adjacent a swivel opening arranged concentrically about a central axis, the swivel coupling rotatable relative to the handle about the central axis, and an insert shank including a swivel seal in sealed contact with the swivel coupling, a first shank shoulder in contact with the swivel shoulder, and a shank engagement feature in rigid engagement with the inlet engagement feature.
FLUSH JOINT HIGH TORQUE THREAD
A flush joint high torque thread that achieves superior tensile efficiency and compression efficiency. In one example, the thread of a pin member and a box member includes a thread a chamfer with angled shoulders on each side of the thread to achieve increased torque. The stab flanks each contain a lead-in chamfer extending no further than a thread pitch line. The load flanks are each tapered. The stab flanks engage each other during assembly, but not upon assembly. The load flanks do not engage each other during assembly, and do engage each other upon assembly. The pipe achieves both a 70% tensile efficiency and a 90% compression efficiency.
THREADED CONNECTION FOR STEEL PIPES
A disclosed threaded connection for steel pipes includes a pin and a box. The pin includes, in order from a front end of the pin toward a pipe body of the pin, an annular shoulder surface, an annular sealing surface located adjacent to the shoulder surface, and a male thread part. The box includes, in order from a pipe body of the box toward a front end of the box, an annular shoulder surface, an annular sealing surface located adjacent to the shoulder surface, and a female thread part. The pin shoulder surface and the box shoulder surface incline from a plane perpendicular to a pipe axis in a direction of screwing the pin. A diameter of an inner circumferential edge of the pin shoulder surface is smaller than a diameter of an inner circumferential edge of the box shoulder surface.
Autonomous connection evaluation and automated shoulder detection for tubular makeup
A method of connecting a first threaded tubular to a second threaded tubular includes engaging the threads of the tubulars and rotating the first tubular relative to the second tubular to makeup a threaded connection. The method further includes, during makeup of the threaded connection: measuring time, measuring torque applied to the connection, and measuring turns of the first tubular. The method further includes using a programmable logic controller for: evaluating at least one of the measured turns, measured torque, and measured time for at least one of a discontinuity, a torque spike, and a torque drop and accepting or rejecting the connection based on the evaluation.
