Plasma sterilization device
A plasma sterilization apparatus includes a voltage-applying unit that applies a voltage to a sterilization target having conductivity; a pair of electrodes that apply, in a discharged state, the voltage applied by the voltage-applying unit to the sterilization target via a dielectric; and a position changing unit that changes a relative position between the pair of electrodes and the sterilization target.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INFRARED DEHYDROFREEZING AND DEHYDRO FREEZE-DRYING
Dehydration and drying are some of the oldest methods of preserving food and other biological materials such as proteins and both live and dead live microorganisms or their metabolites. The invention disclosed herein seeks a method of further improving the process of preserving biological material by combining the freezing or freeze-drying process with a partial infrared dehydration step. By using infrared radiation energy to perform simultaneous blanching and dehydration, the drying speed is greatly increased and better cellular and molecular integrity is maintained. The invention herein is also particularly useful in connection with cannabis and hemp.
Devices and methods for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate material, and cartridge
Devices (10) and methods for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate material. The devices contain at least one electron source (20) for generating an electron beam and a treatment zone (19) in which the material is pasteurized and/or sterilized by the electron beam. The device (10) comprises a vibration surface (11) which vibrates to convey and individualize the material. The first vibration surface (11) has a plurality of grooves (12) into which the material is conveyed and individualized. The device (10) has a good channel (21) in which the material is pasteurized and/or sterilized by the electron beam in the region of the treatment zone (19). The device (10) has at least one auxiliary channel (22) through which a fluid flows between the electron source (20) and the good channel (21) and is separated from the good channel (21). A cartridge (24), for pasteurizing and/or sterilizing particulate material, is also disclosed.

METHOD FOR PROCESSING PRODUCTS OF THE FOOD PROCESSING INDUSTRY
A method for processing food products (12) includes transporting the food products by a first conveyor (11), an X-ray unit (13) positioned between the intake end and the discharge end of the first conveyor to acquire a first set of product-specific data relating to the food product transported. At least one first optical camera (17), assigned to the first conveyor, is used to acquire a second set of product-specific data relating to the food product. A control unit (18) is used to receive and integrate the first and second data sets to analyze the composition of the food product and determine parameters for the food product. Based on the determined parameters of the food product, the food product is cut with a cutting unit, under the control of the control unit.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR ENHANCING THE EFFICACY USING IONIZED/AEROSOLIZED HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IN REDUCING MICROBIAL POPULATIONS, METHOD OF USE THEREOF
Systems and methods of decontaminating food substances by using cold plasma to enhance the performance of ionized hydrogen peroxide to decontaminate food, and methods of use thereof. Cold plasma activation significantly enhanced the efficacy of hydrogen peroxide (HO.sub.2) mist against bacteria on fresh produce, and the technology may be used to enhance microbial safety. Cold plasma activated ionized hydrogen peroxide (iHP) can be applied on various fresh produce items. In particular, cold plasma enhanced the efficacy of hydrogen peroxide (H.sub.2O.sub.2) mist against Salmonella and Liberia.
