Leak-resistant threaded pipe connection

A leak-resistant pipe connection has an annular seal bulge on a pin end of the connection and a tapered seal area adjacent a secondary box shoulder of a box end of the connection. The annular seal bulge is coined on contact with the tapered seal area on initial make-up of the connection which provides a metal-to-metal seal that is very resistant to high-pressure fluid leakage even after the connection is subjected to extreme shear and tensile stresses.

A tubular string comprises a plurality of torque connectors connecting a plurality of tubular members. At least one torque connector of the plurality of torque connectors comprises a pin component threadably connected to the box component. The pin comprises a three torque shoulders corresponding to three surfaces of the box component. In at least one embodiment, a sacrificial material is deposited between one of the torque shoulders and one of the surfaces to provide additional torque capacity to the torque connector. The outer pipe has an outer collar, a press fit surface, and a stop surface as well as a recess in its interior wall which extends from the press fit surface to the stop surface. When the outer pipe part is joined with the inner pipe part, the connection forms a press fit region, a stop region, and a transition region, where the transition region forms a coaxial intermediate space or hollow space.

The invention relates to an improved filament-reinforced tubular, and a method for providing such a tubular. A filament-reinforced tubular according to the invention comprises a tubular body (2), the tubular body comprising multiple fibre mats (10) encapsulated in a thermoset material (11), and is at least at one end provided with a male screw thread (3) comprising threading. According to the invention, the threading comprises a core member (12, 16). Furthermore, the threading comprises one or more fibre mats (13) that cover the core member. The one or more fibre mats are pulled between the windings of the core member by a positioning wire (14). The core member, the one or more fibre mats, and the positioning wire, are encapsulated by a, preferably thermoset, cover material (15), which cover material defines the shape of the screw thread.
