PIPE CONNECTION
20230129427 · 2023-04-27 ·

The invention relates to a pipe connection (10, 52, 66) with a first pipe part (12) and a second pipe part (14), with at least one multi-part sealing ring (24; 44, 46) or at least one single-part sealing ring (68) which is surrounded by a clamping device (16). The pipe parts (12, 14) each comprise a first obliquely or vertically extending end face (20, 72) or a second obliquely or vertically extending end face (22, 74). These are overlapped by a clamping device (16). This applies an outwardly acting radial force (34) to the at least one single-part sealing ring (68) or the at least one multi-part sealing ring (24; 44, 46). These are secured in their respective sealing position by means of an enclosing geometric triangle, by means of an enclosing geometric non-rectangular quadrilateral (104) or by means of an enclosing geometric rectangular quadrilateral (106).

HOSE CLAMP WITH PAWL AND RELATED METHODS

Disclosed are methods and apparatus that allow hand forces to easily cinch up and tighten a slotted band of a hose clamp to a position where a worm gear screw may then be used to firmly tightening the hose clamp around a hose or pipe. A cinching operation may be accomplished using a pawl apparatus provided at one end of a hose clamp having a centrally located downwardly facing tooth provided between a pair of oppositely positioned side walls which act as guides for receiving a slotted band of a hose clamp. A tightening operation may then be accomplished by turning the screw of a worm gear at the other end of the hose clamp. The hose clamp may be removed by releasing the pawl assembly or unscrewing the worm and gear screw.

The apparatus is a pawl clamping rachet device used with pipe or hose clamps when working in a tight space limiting access to advancing a slotted band needed for tightening the hose clamp. The apparatus having upstanding planar guide walls which guide a slotted band as the band is advanced through a gap with the band restrained in moving backwards by a pawl tooth having a spring function.

PIPE CONNECTING SYSTEM
20230066673 · 2023-03-02 ·

A pipe connecting system for first and second pipe pieces extending along a common longitudinal axis includes a clamp. The pipe pieces each have first end and first clamping surfaces. The clamp has first and second contact surfaces lying against respective clamping surfaces to prevent the clamping surfaces from moving away from one another, while leaving a space between the first and second end surfaces. A retaining ring has a sealing connection attachment to the second pipe piece, and on which a sealing ring is mounted, the sealing ring lying against a circumferential first sealing surface of the first pipe piece. An interior of the first and second pipe pieces between the two pipe pieces is sealed against the surrounding environment by the sealing connection. The two pipe pieces can move towards one another without the first sealing ring moving out of contact with the first sealing surface.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR RECONFIGURING A BLEED SYSTEM

A system includes a bleed system configured to direct a bleed flow from a compressor section to an exhaust section of a gas turbine engine. The bleed system includes a first bleed conduit section configured to couple to the compressor section, a second bleed conduit section configured to couple to the exhaust section, and a first rotatable joint coupling together adjacent conduits of the first and second bleed conduit sections. The second bleed conduit section has components configured to rotate between a plurality of configurations relative to the first bleed conduit section and the compressor section via the first rotatable joint. The plurality of orientations corresponds to a plurality of exhaust outlet orientations of the exhaust section, and the components of the second bleed conduit section are the same in each orientation.

Asymmetric clamp for joining sanitary fittings

A clamp with two segments and a process for applying a first clamp segment to a pair of flanges for adjacent fluid flow elements so that the first clamp segment is retained by the pair of flanges after application. Steps including 1) aligning a first flange with a second flange to form the pair of flanges; and 2) elastically deforming the first clamp segment to capture into the first clamp segment an arc of more than 180 degrees of the pair of flanges with the arc being sufficiently more than 180 degrees that after capture of the pair of flanges that the first clamp segment cannot be disengaged from the pair of flanges without application of sufficient force to elastically deform the first clamp segment to expand sufficiently to allow removal of the pair of flanges. Otherwise the first clamp segment is retained.

FLANGE BELT

A flange belt has a flexible belt with a flexible metal insert sheathed within it that allows the flange belt to conform to a flanged joint when the flanged belt is wrapped around it. The flexible belt has a first longitudinal channel and a second longitudinal channel. A first band and a second band are sized to fit within the first longitudinal channel and the second longitudinal channel, respectively. The first band and the second band are used to hold the flexible belt on the flanged joint.
