HYDRAULIC CONNECTOR AND PROCESS FOR PERFORMING HYDRAULIC CONNECTION
A hydraulic connector type (Titus) may be used in oil production and extraction operations in the seabed. The hydraulic connector type (Titus) may be able to provide a connection between cylindrical bodies such as Christmas tree and a wellhead. The hydraulic connector type (Titus) may have a locking system including a hydraulic circuit and the unlocking system has a hydraulic circuit. Additionally, a pre-load adjustment system may be performed through an adjustment ring. The hydraulic connector type (Titus) contains a set of jaws, one actuator hydraulic piston, pressurization chambers, sealing elements, external jacket, bottom cap, adjustment ring and hydraulic fluid lines.
Remotely operated fluid connection and seal
A remotely-operated fluid connection assembly to hold higher internal pressures in larger diameters. The assembly comprises a fluid connection adapter and a fluid connection housing assembly. When the adapter enters the housing assembly: (A) locking elements on the housing assembly constrict about the adapter; and (B) at least a first seal section on the adapter sealingly contacts a first seal bore on the housing assembly. Progressive engagement of a locking ring upon the locking elements urges the locking elements to tighten against the adapter. Internal pressure encourages adapter displacement, which then further tightens the adapter against the locking elements as now restrained by the locking ring. Internal pressure further encourages the first seal section on the adapter to expand radially to tighten the contact with the first seal bore in the housing assembly.
Valve
A valve arrangement for a hose end coupler of a transfer hose for the offloading of hydrocarbons from an offshore floating production storage and offloading vessel (FPSO) to a shuttle tanker is described. The valve arrangement comprises a linear valve comprising a linear valve actuator movable between a first position whereat the valve is closed and a second position whereat the valve is open; a secondary valve comprising a secondary valve actuator movable between a first position whereat the valve is closed and a second position whereat the valve is open; the linear valve actuator and the secondary valve actuator are operatively coupled so movement of the linear valve actuator effects a corresponding movement of the secondary valve actuator. A hose end coupler with the valve arrangement, and a transfer hose and transfer system and method incorporating such a hose end coupler with the valve arrangement are also described.
SECURING DEVICE
A securing device comprises a collar for releasably clamping first, and second objects (28,30) together, wherein the collar includes a pair of collar members (46), each of the collar members (46) being pivotably coupled to the other collar member (46) at or towards a first end so as to allow pivotable movement of the collar members (46) relative to each other, the collar including a releasable securing member (42) that includes securing member portions respectively arranged in or on the collar members (46) at or towards their other second ends, wherein the securing member portions are configured to be coaxially connectable to each other to secure the collar members (46) to each other at or towards their other second ends, and the securing member portions are configured to be coaxially disconnectable from each other to permit separation of the second ends of the collar members (46).
