FLEXIBLE PIPE ARMOR WIRE MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD
Disclosed are systems and methods for monitoring armor wires in a flexible pipe by inferring a condition of the armor wires using at least one polymeric coupon containing steel wires. The coupon is designed to simulate the conditions of the armor wires in the annulus of the flexible pipe. The coupon is removably held by a coupon holder in the bore of a surface pipe connected to the flexible pipe. The coupon can be removed from the bore of the surface pipe after a period of time to dissect the coupon and evaluate the steel wires. The systems and methods allow insight into the condition of the armor wires during operational life that does not otherwise exist at present.
Use of high speed radio frequency protocols for communication with pipeline pigs and inspection tools
A method and system of high speed radio frequency communication between an outside of a metallic pipeline or vessel and an interior volume contained by the metallic pipeline or vessel includes passing a high speed radio frequency signal through a communication portal having a high speed radio frequency permittive material exposed to the interior volume of the metallic pipeline and to the outside. The high speed radio frequency signal may be transmitted from the interior volume to the outside or from the outside to the interior volume. The communication portal may be a cylindrical- or planar-shaped body connected to the metallic pipeline. A tool located within the interior volume may transmit, receive, or transmit and receive the high speed radio frequency signal. The high speed radio frequency signal may be configured according to a 2.45 GHz standard protocol.
TUBE PORTION
Herein a metallic tube portion is disclosed. The metallic tube portion comprises a connection element. The connection element comprises a protruding portion of a metallic outer tube of the metallic tube portion and a housing member. The housing member is welded to the protruding portion and at least a further portion of the metallic outer tube and/or a portion of a metallic inner tube. A signal line extends at least partially through the connection element.
UNIVERSAL PIPE SLEEVE JUNCTION FOR AN ASPIRATED SMOKE DETECTION SYSTEM
Methods, devices, and systems for a universal pipe sleeve junction for an aspirated smoke detection system are described herein. In some examples, one or more embodiments include a sleeve body having an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface defining an opening through the sleeve body, wherein the sleeve body further includes a first end surface and a second end surface opposite the first end surface, and a nozzle having an outer surface and an inner surface, the inner surface of the nozzle defining an opening through the nozzle and extending through to the inner surface of the sleeve body, where the nozzle opening is configured to couple with a pipe sleeve attachment mechanism.
Integrated sensor and service port for HVAC equipment or HVAC system
An integrated sensor and service port for HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning) equipment or an HVAC system.
MEASURING SYSTEM
The present disclosure relates to a measuring system including: an automation field device embodied for determining and/or monitoring a process variable of a medium; a connection unit, which includes a connection plug, which is electrically connected with the field device, and a cable, which is connected to the connection plug with a cable connection and which serves for supplying the field device with electrical energy and/or for transmitting information between the field device and a superordinated unit; and a protective cover, which surrounds the connection unit and the field device connected with the connection unit in a protection section, wherein by means of the protective cover the impact resistance of the measuring system in the protection section is increased.
PRESSURE INDICATING MECHANICAL TEE
A device and method for the visual inspection of the existence of pressure within a branch line of pipe is described. A mechanical tee includes a collar portion configured to extend around a pipe. The collar portion defines an axis and includes one or more fasteners to secure the tee to the pipe. A neck portion is coupled to the collar portion. The channel of the neck portion is in fluid communication with the interior of the pipe. A seal is used to prevent leakage between the pipe and the mechanical tee. A pressure indicating device is in fluid communication with the channel of the neck portion and configured to provide a visual indication of the pressure level in the channel. The pressure indicating device may optionally include electrical contacts to communicate with a monitoring system to discern and track the pressure levels in the channel.
EXPANSION PIPE JOINT AND INCINERATION ASH TREATMENT FACILITY
An expansion pipe joint that absorbs displacement occurring at a connection portion between an upstream pipe and a downstream pipe includes an outer tube having a downstream end coupled to the downstream pipe, an inner tube that is inserted into the outer tube and has an upstream end coupled to the upstream pipe, and a closing member having elasticity that is provided between an upstream end of the outer tube and the upstream end of the inner tube so as to close a gap between them. Then, a difference between a position in an axial direction of the upstream end of the outer tube and a position in the axial direction of the upstream end of the inner tube is within a predetermined range so that a bus line of the closing member is inclined from the axial direction.
Retractable fitting having a stopcock
A retractable fitting with a stopcock has a stopcock housing for connection to a pipe or process chamber. The housing has a connection opening into the pipe or process chamber. A shut-off body is rotatable about a pivot axis relative to the stopcock housing, and has a passage hole that merges in an open state of the stopcock into the connection opening of the stopcock housing, the connection opening being closed by the shut-off body in a closed state. A support element in the passage hole is introduced in the open state through the connection opening into the pipe or process chamber. A plurality of flushing lines are operable to conduct a flushing medium, the plurality of flushing lines being accessible from outside of the stopcock and being connected to and/or opening into the passage hole of the shut-off body at least in the closed state of the stopcock.
Method and apparatus to accommodate sensors on an exhaust component
An exhaust component assembly includes a component housing defined by an outer dimension and having at least one sensor opening. A sensor boss surrounds the at least one sensor opening and at least one exhaust component is positioned radially outwardly of the component housing and includes an opening that surrounds the at least one sensor opening. A first flange extends about an outer periphery of the sensor boss and a second flange is associated with the opening of the at least one exhaust component to accommodate variations in the outer dimension such that the first and the second flanges can be attached to each other.
